i am not here to gang up on anyone, nor am i here to argue about religion. i dont want to start anything with anyone that is going to end up with one or the other screaming. it was a theory i thought up. nothing more. my apologies if it offends you for that is not my intent

You may not be here to gang up on people but by bringing up things that are aspects of religion it never ends well. So far on Gaia people have been pretty good, but I can just see where something along those lines would lead.

Just remember it's a two way street, if you don't want lifers (well I don't count in this generalization being non-christian and all.) to bring up religion in debates you shouldn't either.

Sorry if I came off harsh I just have never seen you around before so I tend to get overly defensive until I understand how the other person works.

I got a personal story to prove that a fetus is conscious during the pregnancy. When my mother was 5 1/2 months pregnant with me I wouls kick and shift when my father came home. Right when my father walked in the door from work I would recognise his voice and become excited. It would make my mother get shortness of breath. Unconscious, I think not!

That does not make you concious. A worm can recognise the sound of rain on the ground, you wouldn't give it the same credence as a human being would you?

Worms don't have ears blaugh They have a nervous system which makes them aware of there being some presure on them. To them it could be a rock, water drop, flow of water, a left, it all has the same feeling xd
Fetuses are conscious during conception xd The fetus is learning during the pregnancy. That is why when you go to pregnancy classes or read pregnancy books they often say to have the unborn child listen to music. That is why they make womb headphones.
A reaction to a sound is a conscious action

They do not have ears, true. They do, however, feel the vibrations caused by the rain, and recognise it as such ((though they can be tricked with similar sounds)).

A foetus is not learning in the same way a human learns, hell it's not even learning in the same way a rat would learn; it does not have the higher functions present ((forget the name of the part of the brain...I guess mine's still asleep...it is only 9.30am here)). The music can be "heard" by the foetus ((which also does not have ears for some time)). But it has no proven effect upon it. People claim plants respond to music, does that make them concious thinking beings? Dogs respond to music ((play the theme tune of Eastenders at an alsation...it'll go nuts and sing with it)) does that make it concious in the way a human is? Cows react to sound, you gonna stop eating them just becuase of that?

The fetus has brain activity gonk There is a machine called SARA that can detect brain waves from fetuses. Yes, Cows react to sound. That is all that they do sweatdrop They don't have a conscious ration as to what the sound is. Me yelling or playing Metallica is the exact same to them 3nodding What does being conscious have to do with the right to life? If someone is in comotose they don't have the right to live?
Also, plants don't react to sound xd They don't have a conscious. They react to the fequencys of the waves of music.
When I heard my father when I was a fetus, I reacted to my father, and my father only. Because I knew that he was my father 3nodding
