[Big Hobbit]

It was a fairly average day for Sorley.

He had spent his morning meandering around the pride greeting those that he pasted and getting all of the latest news and updates from around the pride. Sorley enjoyed being up to date with things that were going on even if he wasn't involved in them.

Now it was around midday and he was looking for something else to get into. Making his way into his forest home, he thought that it would be a perfectly good day to visit some of his many family members.

Trotting off into the trees, Sorley thought that he hadn't spoken with his father in a while, and that it would be a perfectly good day to go and visit him.

If he was pressed to admit it, Herryk would absolutely say that he was something of a dramatic sort of fellow. He loved his wife - Pur had brought a spark of something into his life that he hadn't really realized he'd needed - and he deeply loved his children. He tried to be a good father and half the time he felt like he succeeded. There was, of course, the smallest part of him that felt like he'd failed Klona as a father, but even his grandcubs brought him immeasurable joy.

Drama? Yes. Especially when Pur was pregnant.

She was absolutely pregnant again.

Sorley would find his father sitting directly outside of the mouth of his den, a pensive look on his face that a son might recognize on his fathers face - a look of kill me now mixed ever so slightly with pride, worry, contemplation, excitement, and a heaping mound of more worry.

Once he approached the area where his family lived and where he was raised, he began sniffing out the whereabouts of his father. It wasn't difficult to find him as he'd been sticking near the den as of late from what he'd heard.

Sorley had begun to think that there was something wrong with his mother.

He worry though, as he was sure that someone would have told him if there were. Once Sorley spotted the family member he was seek, he grinned widely and began to approach. Although, once he was close enough to see his father's face he instantly knew that something was definitely going on.

"Hey dad," he started slowly, "What's going on?"

I don't know how pregnant mom is, but I'll just say Sorley doesn't know about his impending siblings yet, more fun that way!

Herryk adored his sons (though in truth he adored all of his children), and while it wasn't always easy for him to admit it the fact remained. He was a lion who would do anything to keep his family safe and sound. Some of his cubs had taken to making their homes in the pride proper, but those that remained in the forest were forever under his watchful gaze. He was something of a hermit in that way.

"Your mother is pregnant," Herryk began, his tone grim, "pregnant again."

The grim lilt to his voice turned slightly more exasperated.

"It is not a thing that we had planned," he continued, as though to reassure Sorley. "They will not replace the children we have."

That's fine! biggrin We can just assume she's well on her way.

Many different thoughts were running through Sorley's head of what could possibly be going on with his mother. He tried to keep his imagination at bay, but his thoughts were getting more and more creative until his father told him something truly shocking that caused his thoughts to come to an immediate halt.

Pregnant?

Sorely stared at his father for a moment as though he had misunderstood him before saying out loud, "Pregnant?"

What did he mean his mother was pregnant? As in his mother was going to have cubs? As in cubs that would be related to him? As in siblings?

The only thing Sorley managed to say was, "Mom's having cubs?!"

"Yes, again, and it will mean much to her if you are around to help as they grow older."

Pur loved her children and she really was the perfect mother in Herryk's eyes - and the more he thought about seeing his wife fat with his cubs the more his demeanor seemed to brighten.

So long as he didn't think about what sort of trouble his future children could get into, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

Sorley gulped at the enormity of the situation. Soon he would have whole new brothers and sisters running around. What would that be like? Being born in a litter he'd never actually been anybody's big brother.

As soon as he'd thought it, Sorley instantly liked the idea of being a big brother. The idea appealed to him more and more. There would be brand new impressionable little versions of his parents who he could teach to be just like him! Sorley began to fantasize about having his own little minion to follow around.

"Of course dad, I'll do whatever I can to help out! How long will it be until she has them?"
