Name: Hiro Hamato
Nickname: Master Hamato, Hamato Sa Bum Nim
Age: 46
Birthday: July 1st
Sign: Cancer
Gemstone: Ruby
Blood Type: AB+
Fav. Food: Sushi
Hated Food: American Pizza
School: N/A
Hobbies: Hapkido - Master Hamato has spent a good part of his half century long life learning and mastering the art of Hapkido, it's history, symbolism and the Korean Language. He continues to to learn it as he passes it on to the next generation through his Hapkido business, and it insprires him to continue to learn even more; other Martial Arts, their histories, symbolisms and Languages and of course, their code of conduct. Teaching - Master Hamato also enjoys teaching. It envelops his soul and makes him feel young again. And to keep something he cherishes alive for generations to come - that is a virtue unlike any other, one that he feels that he can achieve. Especially something so needed for the world today. Hopefully he's not teaching the wrong people, and is teaching the right people, and the right people are making good use of it. Healthy Living - Master Hamato makes sure to live each day the healthiest that he can; without diets, or counting calories or sudden run to the gym. He practices Hapkido a total two or three hours a day, gets eight or nine hours of rest each night, and eats plenty of vegetables, fruits, grains, meat and dairy. He has recently added in an hour or two of other Martial Arts.
Virtues: Holds Everyone Accountable - Master Hamato makes sure to hold everyone, including his favorite students for their mistakes. This isn't to be mean or cruel; Master Hamato simply is attempting to help them learn from their mistakes and be a better, stronger person for it. He isn't discriminatory, he holds even himself accountable for his own mistakes. That, he believes is how he got to where he is today. Desire To Help: The roots of his early Hapkido training were fed by a budding spring of a desire to help people welling from deep inside his soul. He still desires to help others, sometimes offering single free Hapkido classes, and when he manage it, things like can food drives and the like; driven solely by the pain of seeing others in pain.
Flaws: Obsessed - Master Hamato is completely obsessed with Martial Arts. As said above, he pursues healthy living the fullest he can, however, he takes it much further. Master Hamato spends 4 or 5 hours a day in personal Hapkido training, another 2 studying the background of Hapkido - the Korean language, South Korea, the Hapkido league, etc. He also spends another 4 teaching his students Hapkido, and it's requirements. And about 4 times a week for about 4 hours studying under 4 different masters of 4 different Martial Arts. Martial Arts has taken over his life. He often has difficulties prioritizing other parts of his life. He recently woke up and realized that he is almost 50, and he's done nothing but Martial Arts with with his life. While that's not a bad thing, the whole reason he got into Martial Arts in the first place, is to help people. Yet all he does is Martial Arts these days. He also is obsessed with his appearance - he spends a half hour each morning picking out the right uniform, and another hour, doing his hair and morning spa treatments. On the weekends, he just has to get in his 4 hour appointment at the tanning bed. Impulsiveness : Master Hamato may seem like he has it altogether, but in reality he has a severe problem with Impulsiveness. One example is that he just simply has to have every piece of new Martial Arts Equipment there is, He's like a child in that aspect. Or he will jump in immediately to help someone, who is down on their luck, or just needs cash to fulfill something, or volunteers to finish something, and he won't think the whole thing out.. he often double and triple schedules himself, and/or overextends himself and/or his money. Oh sure, he hasn't gone out of business yet, but that's because he has a wonderful bookkeeper who handles all the money in the business. Often Master Hamato has trouble making it to the middle of the month with his personal money.

Hello Hawk! Apologies that your quest has sat so long without a crit! I do have a few things, however - Hiro's "Healthy Living" virtue feels more like a hobby to me, since it's more about the things he does than the person he is! You could make it something like Conscientious or Caring, Caring especially if he maybe tries to get others to live as well as possible too? Also, his Obsessed flaw is a bit too narrow, since his obsession is limited to Senshi - and also there is, unfortunately, no fair way for him to start out knowing as much as you want him to! An ordinary civilian should not come into play knowing all that about powered people, especially not the specifics of how to become a Senshi and the limits on powering up, and someone from outside DC should definitely not have known enough six years ago to move to the city specifically to learn more about Senshi, particularly since Senshi were still very very very underground then - there were only a very small number even awakened! He can find out later, and a general Obsessive trait (that he tends to focus and obsess about things) could transfer to a powered-people-obsession in play, but he should not come in knowing a lot about Senshi - especially since Senshi don't necessarily ICly know all that about themselves. He could be aware, also, of general weirdness in the city, of people disappearing/coma outbreaks/etc, but basically he should not come into play knowing that Senshi exist/magic is real/etc, though he can find out later through interactions with powered characters! (Also, as a note, there's no upper age limit on Knights, so he could certainly power up into one of those someday!) If you need some help smoothing these things out, I'm happy to help!

Hi, Hawk! You've been waiting patiently for so long, so I'll try to make this quick! I think everything looks good, but I do have some feedback on the flaws! We generally ask that flaws not be too specific to any one thing—that they be applicable in a wide variety of situations, and I think 'obsessed with martial arts' is still a little too specific since it focuses on his obsession with only one thing! I think this trait might read better as just 'obsessed' and then you focus on how his obsessions affect his life rather than just the one! If he is only obsessed with martial arts, this will not count as a flaw, sorry! I think you could resolve this easily by changing the title of the flaw and maybe adding a sentence about how his ability to obsess over things (outside of martial arts) though! The second flaw, 'Poor money management' is also very specific and isn't really a personality flaw so much as a bad habit, but I think this could easily be solved with a replacement flaw that ties into poor money management! For example, in reading your description, it sounds like he is impulsive if he simply must have the newest martial arts—maybe you could tie that (or another trait!) in so that it is a personality flaw? Personality flaws are something others might look down on them for related to their personality, and it should be something that can show up in a wide variety of situations, but it seems like this trait only comes out when money is involved. If his flaw was 'impulsive', that is a personality trait that could keep what you have written but also be applicable in a lot of scenarios. For example, if you chose to use 'impulsive' for a flaw, you could also talk about maybe he will jump to help someone without thinking of the consequences. But that is just an idea and might not be how you want to play your character! If you have any questions or make any changes, please let me know and I'll be back as soon as possible to help however I can!
