Rules & Regulations

General Rules

► First and Foremost, we in L&L follow the Gaia Rules and Terms of Service. If you are not familiar with these rules, please read them Here.

► No advertising of other guilds without the Captain's permission.
We don't mind if you advertise, and will even help you out in doing so if you do so properly. However we do like to know beforehand, so that we can make the best of it, and even get some advertising in your guild too. This doesn't mean you can't talk about your guild or even invite people, we just don't want advertisement threads popping up all over the place. We also like to be sure we're not advertising for a guild that is breaking the ToS, as that could reflect back on us.

► Be Civil.
This cannot be stressed enough. This is a place we come to relax and have fun. Getting into fights and arguments ruins that for everyone. Discussions and debates are great, and encouraged, but if things get out of hand we will be stepping in. Insults, slander, excessive foul language, and anything else in that line can be seen as violations of this rule.

► Be Patient.
We all know how frustrating it can be to wait for a reply, be it to a posted application or another character in the RP. However, we all have lives outside of the guild, and sometimes that takes precedence. If, however, you are stuck waiting on another player for more than a few days, you may feel free to skip them in the posting order of whatever is going on, or move on without them to do other things. If you find yourself waiting on a crew operated NPC, contact the crew and we will get you a new NPC Operator. If for some reason you cannot simply leave an inactive party behind, contact crew to resolve the situation.

► If you are going to be away for an extended length of time, such as several days, or even weeks, sign the Hiatus Log. This serves to both alert others who might be waiting on you that you're going to be away, and protect you from the potential consequences of inactivity.

► Do Not Delete Posts.
This guild has a large number of systems reliant upon rolling dice. While we keep the tables hidden to prevent cheating, we acknowledge that there are those intelligent enough to work out the patterns behind the system. For that reason, we cannot tolerate the deletion of posts, as we cannot ensure that the deleter is not trying to ensure a more favorable die roll. Therefore, anyone caught deleting posts, especially if it is found to have happened at the same time as a loot or skill roll, will be considered to have forfeited that roll, and receive no benefits no matter what they would have gained. If a post is found to be deleted after loot has been awarded, that loot, or the earnings of it, will be removed from the character.

► Do Not Threaten Others.
It's not a joke, it's not just kidding around. If a member is found to be threatening others in any way, they will receive only one warning. If the actions continue, they will be banned immediately and reported to Gaia Staff.

RP Rules

► Godmodding will not be tolerated.
Godmodding, and all it's myriad forms are a detriment to the RP. If you are caught godmodding, Meta-gaming, autohitting, autododging, or any other such act, you will be punished accordingly.

► When leaving a thread, make sure to state that you are leaving, and where you are going.
This is so that others in the thread know you are gone, and can follow you if they wish. The statement should be in the form of a tag, such as [Exit to Library] on the end of the post, clearly placed so that it is easily seen.

► Keep it Clean.
This should be clear if you've read the ToS, but while this guild will deal with mature concepts, this is still a family friendly site. Violence and mature themes are to be expected, but they are not to become graphic. This means no cybering or gratuitous depictions of gore. Basically, if it shouldn't be seen by a child, don't show it.

► Always check the first post of a thread before posting.
Many threads will require you to pass through other threads, or have special requirements to access. Threads requiring passage through other threads will state in the description which threads are linked to it. Any RP in a thread you have accessed improperly will be voided.

► Traveling is a long and arduous process, as most locations are many miles apart. To reflect this, passing through threads in a Region subforum, excepting towns, requires three posts. One to enter, one doing something in the thread, be it walking along a road, or picking flowers on a hillside, and one to exit. Traveling between regions is only possible in certain threads. These threads are announcements within the region. In most cases a thread of the same name will be in the linked region, which is the thread you will travel to. If the threads are not named alike, then the thread will state in the first post what threads it links to. It is only possible to pass through one region link in a single real life day. Take the extra time to do some exploring, camping, or even training.

► Please use a posting format.
It is considered common courtesy when Rping with others in this guild, to use a posting format. Said formats usually contain the RPC's name, a picture of them, and any relevant information. Regardless of whether a format is used, every post is required to contain a list of the character's current stats. This is both for the convenience of other Rper's, and for the crew if we need to judge a battle. If you don't know how to make a format for yourself, you should feel free to ask anyone you see using one for tips. They might even help you with your own, or make one for you.

Activity Rules

► In the event that any member, after two months of being in the guild, has never posted, they may be removed from the guild.

► Any member who has not posted in over six months may be removed from the guild, except in the case that they have signed the hiatus log, in which case the time is set to six months after their set deadline.

► Any member who signs the hiatus log, with no defined time of return, may be removed from the guild after four months of inactivity.

► In the event that a member proves to be uncontrollable by crew, and consistently breaks Guild or Gaia rules, they may be removed or banned after a vote by at least two active VCs.

Crew Rules

► Uphold The Rules.
Crew are not just to enforce the rules, but to follow them themselves. Every member of crew must know and follow all the rules of the guild, just as everyone else.

► Abuse is Not Tolerated.
Any crew member found to be abusing their rights as Crew will be demoted immediately.

► Do Not Delete Posts.
Crew members are not allowed to delete any post, whether it be others or their own, for any reason, without first consulting a VC or the Captain.

► Do Not Edit Posts.
In no instance is a crew member to edit the content of another member's post without permission. The sole exceptions to this rule are in the resolution of updates as dictated by guild systems. In these cases, edits are to be restricted to tagging the bottom of the post, and the main body is not to be touched. Posts may also be edited if they contain content breaking the rules of the guild or Gaia Terms of Service, in which case a screenshot is to be taken and provided to the VCs and Captain.

► Do Not Delete Threads.
Threads are never to be deleted for any reason without direct permission from the Captain. Threads that are no longer relevant are to be moved directly to the appropriate recycling bin, and tagged in the subject with their original location.

► Do Not Ban or Remove Members.
The ability to ban or remove any member is restricted to use by the Captain and personally approved VCs. No other member of crew may ban a member, and doing so will result in immediate demotion.

► Do Not Share Information.
What happens in Crew discussions is meant to be private. While members may wish they knew what was planned, it's more fun for all if they do not. Crew members found giving private information to others for any reason will soon find themselves no longer on the crew.

► Do Not Threaten Members.
In the event that any member of the guild crew threatens another member in any way, they will be immediately demoted to member. If the actions continue, they will be immediately banned and reported to Gaia Staff.

Crew Activity Rules

► Crew may be demoted in the event that they have become inactive for over two months without signing the hiatus log or contacting a VC or the captain. In the event that they do sign the Hiatus log, they may still be demoted if after two months beyond their marked deadline, they have still not returned or made contact.

► A VC may be demoted in the event that they have become inactive for over two months, but are only reduced to crew status, at which point crew demotion applies. If they have signed the hiatus log, they may be demoted two months after their deadline has passed.

► In the event that if after two months an actively posting crew member has not done any crew job, they may be demoted to member.

► In the event that after two months a VC has not done any crew job, regardless of activity level, they may be demoted to Crew.

► In the event that any member of crew from any level breaks Guild or Gaia rules, their crew status will be placed on trial and after a vote by all active VCs they may be demoted to member.

► Crew may resign at any time, in which event they will be demoted to member.
