Hi, hi, Laisewiel on her mule here! ^__^ *is taking a break between study/cram sessions to contribute an idea* Sorry, everyone, I tried to summarize the best I could! >__<;;

I'm not sure if I was supposed to ask here or directly, but I'm just wondering whether there were plans on creating a battle/fighting system in Hanze realm? I'd like to help out in collaboration if things are still up in the air about it.

Um, I hope it's not presumptuous of me to ask whether is it possible for me to open a training center where Gehaka could learn various subject matter (ie. martial arts, swordsmanship, floral arrangement, cooking, dancing, etc.)? The way I was thinking of running it is similar to a college where each Gehaka would have their haka (or themselves, if they are not claimed) send in an application, and where each term offers a different variety of selections.

Teachers will be hired to instruct courses if anyone would be interested in such, and classes could be held on specific dates (attendance wouldn't be mandatory since everything will be chronolized in the thread itself and since things happen in real life) in "classroom" threads.

Originally, I was thinking of setting up some sort of test, but, perhaps, a competition can be held monthly to see how well each Gehaka has learned the material. Thus, determining a pass or fail in the course. Eventually, after a number of courses in a subject area have been fulfilled, then maybe they can recieve an award or certification?

As for determining points in fighting (if any sparring matches are held), I was thinking about utilizing the dice and random number generator on Gaia Online. Number generation would be mainly for damage, while dice rolling would determine attack and defense. While how each move is described would also add to the final score. In other competition, rubrics would be made to suit (ie. creativity in arts or floral arrangements; tastefulness in cooking; aestheticism in sculpting; etc.).

The main thought behind it was to given some Gehaka an edge and maybe stir up some competition between Hakas who might find a Gehaka with certain qualifications desireable. ^ ^ ((Yes, I can be devious a little at times..)) Plus, it'd be a fun time to RP.

Erm, I hope it was alright in setting up this interest thread... ^ x ^;;

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to create one yet... But, where would this sort of place go?

*needs some people to brainstorm with* @ . @;;

Also, any suggestions as to what sort of courses people want to see?

Sorry if this stuff if just boring. >__>;;

Erm, would these work for suggestions? *goes looking at the front page to find it* ...

~//Gehaka Competitions//~

Haka, being the cruel and competetive creatures they are, like to hold contests to see who has the best Gehaka. These events are held on a random basis for the most part, and will be announced a short time before hand. Small entry fees will be required to enter a Gehaka, and only only one or two from each Haka may be entered into any one competition. Gehaka can compete in more than one contest, however.

OOC, these can be viewed as sort of events. Simpler contests, such as races, will employ the Gaia dice system to determine winners. Other contests such as sparring and sword fights will be RPed(between two people), and moderated of course to keep things fair. Of course, to spice things up, prizes such as rare items for your characters will be offered to the winners of these contests.
So... ^^; Fly the fastest, run the fastest, best swordsman, best in hand-to-hand combat, best with whatever weapons there are... >< I can also see food eating competitions as well... If you can challenge someone to do it better/faster/easier, then I think it could be a competition... sweatdrop I'm just throwing ideas out, I don't really know which one I personally want to see...

Hmm... I think that if there's a substantial interest in such an institution of sorts, maybe we can set-up a sub-forum for it..? That way the announcements/different classes/class schedules etc. can be stickied/pinned without looking too messy... heh... 3nodding

If we're not too sure as to the response yet, I think that we can prolly start something simple in the Towns (Group Rp) section. Set up a thread (maybe a sticky if Midori okies it ^^) and have 1-2 classes for starters so as to gauge the initial response from everyone. We can always use the diff post styles (ornate/document/whisper/shout) for the teachers/students of diff classes so as to better organize the rp posts for everyone's reference then... whee

Courses-wise... I think that what you've suggested in your first posty is a good list to start working on. I'm leaning more towards cooking and martial arts though... but that's just me... heh... wink

Thanks for re-quoting that, Eagleyes~ It'll help if I can keep my on-paper notes and the suggests you all give me together. 3nodding The suggestions are good and I have some ideas as to how I'll set that up..

The separate subforum is something that I can only hope for since the way I have I planned out was to have separate threads for classrooms, arena, etc. Announcements and breakdowns (locked and stickied) would be in separate threads also. It would make the entire thing run a bit cleaner rather than crunching everything into one. If the need be, I can donate the amount needed for the new subforum itself.

That's a good idea, baby_gwing. I can't sticky anything as neither this account nor my main (Laisewiel) is staff status to do so. But, I will set up a preliminary thread for this and hopefully see how everyone takes to it. Probably set up two to three classes... Not sure on which at this point, but cooking and household-based ones might be a good start...

So far the only thing that I haven't considered is an entry fee. @__@ Would people would still be willing to pay for courses if there were a price (somewhere around 1-2K; which can be divided and distributed to recruited teachers) for it? This is sort could be worked in to be a "contract" that if one isn't willing to put effort to attend, one shouldn't sign up...since I don't really want the classes to go stagnant after day one of classes. >__<;

Keep the ideas flowing.. Comments/suggestions/anything that can help improve this idea. 3nodding
