Bleeding Art This is far as the old RP got, now it's a free-for-all. ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ Mingan: Owner of Adelgunde Estates OOC;; Mingan was caught off-guard by her going toward him, and not him going toward her. The dog was a bit mythed at the 'newcomer' and backed away to be behind the man with copper skin. Mingan took a breath in response to the dog's behavior, knowing well it needed some training. He shrugged his shoulders at the girl's hopes that he slept well. "I slept fine...somewhat. I would ask you the same thing...but the dog needs some...help at the moment." He then nudged the dog with his hand before turning to walk away. "You're doing fine." He said randomly before walking away.
He ended up on a lake area where he wanted to relax, and somewhat go into nostalgia for the days of being a kid...not really understanding the hateful world he had to live in, and didn't care why his father was paler than him. He kind of hated this life in all honestly, but he dealt with it since he knew he was FAR better off...if only he didn't have to hide. Then footsteps approached from behind, it happened to be the one responsible for the horses. "You and I used to play here as kids. When it didn't matter if we got dirty or not..good times." "Sure..." Mingan muttered, a little annoyed that Nando had to remind him when times were better. "Ya'know, you been down lately." "I've always been like this. You think I like hiding?" "I don't think all people like to hide for a very long time." Nando then adjusted his hat to get the sun out of his eyes. "Well, the new girl is certainly curious, mostly about you." "All new workers are like that, later on she'll have her mind on something else." "Whatever you say." Nando then went to a small rock and did a small kick, watching the rock plop on the water, making a slight splash before drowning into the water. "I would say maybe it's time you be free and let her know?" "You are completely nuts if you think I am doing so." Mingan hissed as he then stared at the Dog who just had a blank stare at both of them. "It is risking my and everyone's safety at the estate, you know it." "Well you said you hated hiding, so how about expanding your hiding space?" Nando's arms are wide, contributing to what he was trying to say. "Besides, you can always say to them no letting out my identity or you will wash your neck and wait." "No punishment can outdo my identity leaking out...it's gonna take one greedy son of a b***h to ruin everything." "Well, no one can exactly prove you own it. Besides, you always said to have me be the puppet, pretend to be the owner in case." "It'll be hard when I am writing letters for the government, they'll ask for your penmanship to confirm it is you." Mingan took another breath. "Look, I'll think about it alright?" He then walked off, still planning on training the dog.
It got to be around the afternoon, so now it was a good hour break with snacks before getting back again. Nando preferred eating near the horses so he sat at a bench that was next to the stable doors, Mingan took pursuit after him. Mingan was thankful for him being able to mimic his Dad's voice, so he can always let out a command from the shadows to the cooks. The voice mimicking really helped deter people away from the suspicion of the new owner. "Have you ever danced before?" "Me? No. I don't even dare." "Haha, of course. By the way, the new girl's coming." "You really forgot her name...it's Diana." "I'll wait a week to call her that, haha." "You're an idiot." Mingan took a big bite out of the muffin he had in his hands. The dog sitting between them, waiting for something to drop. ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯

⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||Diana Buxton|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍ Why was he always doing that? Diana watched him retreat as quickly as he'd come, excusing himself on the grounds the dog was the one needing attending, adding on that she was doing fine. Did he think her so incapable? It ruffled her feathers, to say the least, but she kept quiet and watching him go, both he and the dog seeming to become more at ease the further they got from her. She supposed she didn't blame him too much for his odd behavior. He was a rarity in this part of the world, and one that was not treated with kindness. Diana did not understand the hate in some men's hearts. Being a servant she was used to being looked down upon, but status and simple blind hatred were two different things. She could live with being sneered at for being the help, or even a woman. But for how she looked? Letting it go she returned to work, staying in the garden until the afternoon when it became too hot to stay. She retreated back inside the manor to get some water and something to settle her stomach for the time being, deciding to take the small time of leisure to walk the grounds once more. The stables were just up ahead and she could hear the familiar voices of the two men. Nando was the first to spy her and she smiled just a bit, the expression widening when Mingan's eyes followed. Getting near enough to be heard, she dipped a casual curtsy. "Afternoon, gentlemen," she greeted. "I do hope I'm not interrupting anything. I just thought I might take a stroll before going back inside to return to work." Really she had no idea why she was bothering. Nando seemed to like her well enough but Mingan twice now had made every excuse to get away. Diana was uncomfortable around those she did not know herself but she felt slighted by his distance. A thought occurred to her then and she had to fight to not show her embarrassment. Oh, he must have heard the rumor of why she'd been let go from her last master! What shame, he must think her a harlot or other lowly creature. And if he had heard, what did her new master know of why she'd written them for employment? ⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||[[OOC: Unexplored territory~!]]|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍

Bleeding Art Depending what your character does, Mingan might show his true identity now or later ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ Mingan: Owner of Adelgunde Estates OOC;; Nando chuckled when the girl had come to them, greeting them with a good afternoon. "Well technically, it's a break so I don't think you have anything to worry about for now." He invited her to sit down next to him since Mingan was still unsure about her. Then he then decided to see. He showed a few fingers toward Mingan for permission. Once Mingan nodded, Nando decided to ask her a few things. "So Missus, where exactly do you come from? Any interesting stories about your life before arriving here?' Mingan sighed a little as he then took some pieces off the snack and gave some to the dog which the dog accepted gratefully. Nando wanted to prove to Mingan that this girl seemed honest and that maybe he can expand his hiding place...hopefully. Hopefully Mingan wouldn't have to think that he had to hide for so long...who knows? Maybe he would finally be somewhat free from this cage and expand a bit through this dungeon. "I can tell you mine if you share us your story." ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯

⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||Diana Buxton|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍ Graciously she accepted the invitation, coming to sit beside Nando. She smoothed her skirts and played absently with the edge of her apron, feeling a bit silly and as though she was the only one not in on something as Nando made a gesture or two to Mingan, who silently nodded in return before Nando opened his mouth again and asked for stories. Almost instantly and without her realizing she put a hand on her abdomen right over where the scar began and she looked away briefly. That was a story she would not tell. It brought too much pain. "Well," she began hesitantly, "I was born at the Coldwater estate. Both my parents were servants. I was good friends with the master's youngest daughter, Vanessa, she was just a couple years my senior." How was Vanessa? What had she been told about why Diana was no longer there? "I was forever getting her out of trouble; oh, she was very spirited. It often landed me in trouble instead but that was alright." Once Vanessa had decided to slide the banister of the main staircase in her best dress and Diana had gone after her, pleading for her not to. Both girls went tumbling and Diana ended up with a broken arm and had to polish the silver and brass with only one hand. Feeling guilty, Vanessa had snuck to her and helped. "I know our statuses were different but we felt more sisters than servant and mistress. It was why when Vanessa received a husband she begged I come and work at her husband's home, so we could still be together." Her gaze dropped. "Unfortunately it was not to be." The master was throwing another terrible party while her mistress was away attending her ailing father. Women of the night had been invited but most were too drunk on spirits to be of much use and so were his friends. Diana was one of the few that put up with these parties, only for her mistress, and had been ordered to hitch up the horses for a carriage to send his friends home to sleep off their drunkenness.
Unfortunately her master was still sober enough to walk and he followed her to the stables, pinning her against one of the horses' stalls and clamping both her arms at her sides. She writhed and resisted, begging to be freed.
"It's such a shame," her master drawled, breathing in the scent of her hair, "that I should be married to such a cold cow and be tempted every day by you." He pressed himself against her and she felt his temptation against her thigh.
"P-please, My Lord, I am only doing what is asked..."
"Then I ask you to raise your skirts."
"I cannot."
He frowned. "Then I command it." She repeated her answer. Hands freeing her own he went to slap her and she instead scratched his cheek, leaving trails of blood from her nails, and wrenched away to stumble to the other side of the stables, shaking violently. "You insolent b***h!" He cried. "You dare defy your master?!"
"I love my mistress," she sobbed. "I would do nothing to hurt her!"
Taking a whip down from its hook, the master cracked it once causing Diana to jump. "You're just a servant. You are the dirt beneath my feet. You think she cares about you the same? She won't when she learns what a harlot you are, how you coveted her beloved husband."
'Please, Sir--" Diana screamed as she felt white hot pain hit her abdomen and wrap around her side to her back, splitting her serving dress and apron which began to stain with blood. Holding her injury she toppled in to a stack of hay, wrenched with sobs from the pain.
Her master looked down upon her coldly. "Don't even think of coming back inside the house tonight. If you do, I'll slit your throat as easily."Diana wiped an absent tear from her eye. "I know there must be stories about me, but they are not true. I would not have dared ask for this chance if they were. I've heard the stories about my master here and it was why I specifically wrote here. I thought, if he could overlook the rumors about me then I would gladly do so with him. Everyone deserves a chance, don't you think?" She looked to the two men, realizing perhaps she'd gone too far and she flushed, looking away instead. "Forgive me, I seem to have turned the mood sour." ⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||[[OOC:]]|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍

◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ Mingan: Owner of Adelgunde Estates OOC;; The story that was to be told to them was not what they had expected. Mingan's face was of horror while Nando's eyes were wide, not as horrified as Mingan's though. Nando was aware of the Master's power and the potential they could do to the servants. Mingan, was still a naive little Indian, so this whole thing was shocking. Yes, he had heard the rumors, and he didn't care. He needed the work, and was just thinking of watching her to make sure that she was doing her job...he never imagined it was like this.
Knowing Mingan was in too much of a shock to react, Nando took a breath. "Nothing to apologize for. These Masters let power get through their thick skulls. Sorry you had to experience that though." Nando wanted to give her a supportive pat on the shoulder but that would've been a terrible idea after all. "I did hear some things about the guy though, not really good things either...I will not say it in front of a woman but you're not the only one suffering from the incident." Mingan had to look away for a moment as now he was starting to contemplate something. "Well...we can tell the stories how we got here right?" Nando then looked at Mingan and then suddenly saw a hand signal which shocked Nando.
'It is time'
"Oh.....oh....o-ok. Let me talk first." Nando had to calm down Mingan since the man seemed impatient for some reason. "Anyway." Nando smiled a little. "It's not as...eventful as yours....I actually was a neighbor to this estate for a bit. My father used to own an estate nearby and I would come her often since he had always been too busy to pay attention to his own wife and only son. So when I went here one day, and actually met with a young boy. I didn't know it then, but he was the son of these estates. I was a very cocky person and he didn't look like someone who lived in the estates so I thought he was a servant. So I ended up making fun of him...to the point it got physical. I did this for a few years until that boy snapped back. I did not realize how strong he was as he threw me to the lake and started to beat the living crap out of me."
Mingan rolled his eyes as he knew what Nando was telling...he kind of ignored it. "I had some respect for him after that, and had came over to hang out with him sometimes. He never told his father I guess since it was never mentioned again....however-" He had to cough. "I guess a year after we became friends...my Father got too drunk. And he was smoking a cigar at the time, so he dropped it accidentally which burned the curtains and soon spread like wildfire. I was the only one who was able to escape the fire, thanks to my Mom who...sacrificed herself to make sure I was able to escape with no injuries. And unfortunately, the whole house burned down so there was nothing for me to take. I actually would've been in the factories working for almost nothing. Then I found out that well...the friend found out about my misfortune and convinced his father at the time to accept me here...of course, I had to work but it was to be made up with a nice shelter, nice food, some nice clothing once in awhile, and be able to stay in a neighborhood I grew up with. That's mine." Mingan had to take a few steady breathes as he soon stood up. "Follow me, I will explain my story."
He had the Diana and Nando follow him inside the house, to which Mingan made sure that no one followed them as he got to the room where Diana sleeps. This made Mingan urk since these foreign objects made him nervous. Mingan then was finally ready...might as well expand his 'prison'. "I was born in this room." That was how he started the story. "My Mom was a servant here, there are rumors that I cannot verify. One side says that my Mom had an affair with the man who owned this estate, and the other side was that she was forced against her will. Either way, I was born and the woman who was suppose to be my Mom disappeared from my life. The man of this estate felt bad...I don't know why....but he felt bad. He had no heir to this place and all the rich ninnies would've just used him for money. So my theory is the side of a love affair was more accurate, because if it was a forceful lust, he would not have taught me the things I knew, nor take me seriously. He ended up dying when I turned 18 years old and I took over this place."
He then stared at Diana. "You want to know who Adelgunde is? Connor Adelgunde? That was my Father. I am the owner of this estate, and my true identity would cause a riot within this community cause none wants a bushn*gger to have taken over something so vast, rich, and dreamlike which all people have dreamt of. And yes I have heard the rumors about you, but I usually doubt them because sometimes it's their way of telling a stupid story. But now I am starting to see a truth, that man was pathetic. You're better off here than being over there, despite your friendship with a nice woman. And yes Nando knows about this, he was going to be the 'poster child' if anyone tries to find out who owns the estate. He's willing to play the part of the 'hidden' owner since...like I said...no one is gonna fond well with a bush-"
"Can you stop saying that word? Jesus Christ! I am getting tired of the word bushn*gger"
"I am speaking the truth though Nando, and you are damn well aware of it."
Nando sneered but he crossed his arms, because he knew that Mingan was right. Mingan nodded at Nando and then stared at Diana again. "This room you are in...this was my Mother's room. She had left everything behind which tells me something went wrong...if she was going to run away...she would've brought things with her...not leave them behind." He then shivered. "I hate this room, it makes me nervous....something I do not understand just....doesn't fond well with me." ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯

⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||Diana Buxton|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍ Diana's embarrassment subsided as Nando told his story, one of his own tragedy but also of friendship and kindness. She smiled despite herself hearing him tell of his friendship and how the young man he used to harass ended up being his savior. What she did not expect was Mingan to lure them away from where they had been chatting to outside her bedroom. He seemed to be very aware of those around them as was Nando. And then Mingan spoke. She stayed silent the whole time, her expression unreadable, but inside she felt as though she might faint. It explained near everything, though. The rumors, the secrecy, why he seemed to follow her around as if spying. Still she could not get over the thought she'd been so casual with her master, even if she hadn't known, and, feeling green, she slowly reached up and untied the beaded necklace from under her uniform and held it out for Mingan to take. "Then Sir," she said, addressing him properly for once, "if this was your mother's I would not feel right wearing it. I was cleaning the room this morning and found them and thought nothing of it, but if my Master feels uneasy for these things and has not given me permission then I cannot wear them." Diana tucked a strand of hair behind her ear with her free hand. "As for what you have told me: your secret will be kept with my life. You and your staff have shown me every kindness I would have never expected for what words I carry on my back and I will repay that in any manner you ask of me." She looked him straight in the eye, feeling even weaker staring in to his dark depths. "Thank you... for trusting me." ⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||[[OOC:]]|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍

Bleeding Art I am thinking of time-skipping and ignite an event. I only have a few ideas 1. Invitation to a party which has to be accepted no matter what, having to go shopping at the market a bit far from the estate so it would take a few days, or whatever else you can think of. ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ Mingan: Owner of Adelgunde Estates OOC;; Mingan stared down at the necklace as she was going to give it to him, and his response was of course for to hold her hand and have her grip the necklace tightly. "Keep it. I have no use for anything here." He then let go and then sighed. "You and Nando are the only ones who know my true identity. All the other servants do not know of this at all, and I hope to keep it this way. The servants have come from unfortunate circumstances like you Miss Diana. Orphanages, terrible work conditions in factories, orphans, abusive households, abusive husbands or wives, abusive masters..." He let her figure out any other situation he can think of. "I am basically this weird guy that women have in their fairytale stories, a man that saves the unfortunate. Does seem weird. And do not call me sir. Just call me Mingan...it will add to the deception after all." He then nodded at Nando. "If anyone asks, just tell them the Master called us in." So with that the three would have to leave the place since it was not necessary to stay here any longer. "Let's just go, it'll be a normal day...hopefully." ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯

Since she'd arrived yesterday he had kept both a physical and emotional distance. Now, so close, she had to admire the contrast of his copper skin atop her own pale flesh. Had his father seen the same allure in his mother? Diana realized the gravity of her thoughts and willed them to the back of her mind. "You are a kind soul," she corrected him at his use of the word 'weird' to describe himself. "If all our pasts are cast in shadow thusly, then by being here we know our futures to be in the light thanks to you." Finally she took her hand away and returned the necklace around her neck, tucking it in once more so the others wouldn't see it and question her. She gave a small curtsy to the two men and went down to one of the many unused rooms to help the women polish the silver and brass as well as swipe for any growing cobwebs. What strange circumstances she found herself in. She knew rightfully she should be appalled she was working for a non-white Master who had deceived her but with what little she knew of Mingan she had decided he was pure of heart at the very least. And what right had she to judge when he knew of her past and had not judged her, instead choosing to believe there was another truth? She owed him her kind thoughts, at least. ⁌ [•] ⁌ [•] ⁌ ||[[OOC: I'm a bit partial to the party idea, seems like it would be something to get in to shenanigans with. ]]|| ⁍ [•] ⁍ [•] ⁍

Bleeding Art Wow....it took me a long time to figure out what to do. I decided it had to be a market place. Just Mingan and Diana together....alone...XD ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ Mingan: Owner of Adelgunde Estates OOC;; Mingan nodded at her as she took her leave. Mingan stared at Nando who was smiling slightly. "It's a good start." Nando then took his leave in which Mingan stayed in the room, lingering there trying to imagine what had happened here. He shook his head as he failed to do so before exiting the room.
The day had passed and it had become a new day. Mingan was in his room doing the daily letters when suddenly one of the maids knocked on the door. "P-Pardon me Master, but we seem to be low on food." "How low?" Mingan inquired as he knew that some of the stuff would need to be bought from the markets. "We can last for about seven days, but that would be it." "Well, we will just have to send someone to stock up on food." He then stood up and dismissed the maid. He knew he cannot exit so he found a different door in which secretly ws stairs that lead to the basement. It was how he was not found so easily in the house.
He then got outside to where Diana was. "A morning to you Miss Diana. 'Master' is afraid he needs to speak to you and Nando." He knew very well that she was aware of his true identity but it was best to talk like this. So he ushered her. "It'll be alright. "Master' will excempt you from the duties for a bit." He had her follow him to the stables in which Nando was actually talking to a man who was interested in some horses. Mingan had himself and Diana wait until the transfer was done. Nando patted the horse. "Be good now a'right?" He then watched the horse leave before he turned around to see the two. "Well..Morning!" "Morning to you, we seem to have a dire situation...the food stock is low." "Always important, you want me to go get food?" "Actually no....I will need you here. I was going to let you know that me and Diana are going."
Nando was surprised, normally he was the one who stocked the food..so why did Mingan want to go? "Soooooo, you want me to be the 'puppet'? You know how long it takes to get all the food?" "I am aware, but for now that 'neighbor' is starting to spread news about a party, I need you here in case something goes wrong." Mingan then stared at Diana. "You will be with me so it is best if you stay with me at all times, it's for both of our safety. Nando, prepare the horse and cart." He then decided to take a leave. "So Diana, pack up for the few days journey. It will take until tonight to get to town so bring some clothes and what is needed for hygiene." He then went away to get his stuff ready. Nando had a smirk. "Well, you'r the only one besides me to know everything about him. Hopefully you were able to wrap up not having a non-white owner in these parts." ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯ ● ◯
