Lonely Girl

Lots of stuff happening, things going crazy, people bounding around and of course a booming voice to tell them to happen. Yep quick recap cause too lazy to write out all of that. More importantly, there was one other figure in the area that caught Yarne's attention. His gaze went to the young Manakete in the room, and he swore that he recognized her. Blinking a bit, he glanced back to Juniper and offered her a quick, "B-Be right back." Before heading off to get a closer look at the girl.

Kneeling down, he got a closer look at her. He was certainly surprised to say the least - this girl was the spitting image of Tiki! He didn't recall her having a child at all. Not wanting to scare her at all, he put a smile on his face, and decided to introduce himself. "Hey, are you comfortable down there?" He asked. "A-And you sure you don't want any company?" He added.

Tiki looked up at the new face, which seemed to belong to a very hairy person with what looked like floppy bunny ears.

She smiled smugly, like someone who didn't just spend at least half an hour munching on sweets while under a table (not that there's anything wrong with that! Especially when it's so comfortable and you can feel like you're in your own little room).

"It's really nice down here." She replied. "...But that's enough of that. I'm really happy you came here!"

She stood up to greet the visitor, gently dusted the dirt off her cloak, and brushed her hair out of her face. Company was always welcome, and plus, she had finished her doughnut.

"What's you're name?"

Despite some of the bumps, Juniper was altogether rather pleased with the party so far. It was lively, the food was good, Vince had brought his carrot soup, and Gangrel had actually shown his face. She had her doubts at first as to whether or not he'd actually try socializing with anyone. Sure, him threatening people wasn't exactly the sort of socializing she wanted him to do, but it was still some sort of interaction, and they could work from there. Step one, no murder threats. Step two was a work in progress.

She dragged Gangrel back with her to where Vince and Yarne were, pausing to pick up her bowl of carrot soup, smiling wide. She downed the contents as they walked, placing the bowl delicately down again on the table before scooting back over to where Vince stood. It was only polite. "Hey, babe, I think Gan needs to try to do something more in the holiday spirit, don't you? Do you know if they have any games or anything for us to do around here besides food and chatter? It-- hm?" Good-bye, attention span, we bid you a fond farewell on your new journey. Her eyes followed Yarne over to the side as he squatted down next to a nearby table, and Juniper gestured for Vince to follow before joining Yarne as the little green-haired girl emerged from under the table.

Naga above, she was precious.

"Hi!" Juniper finally released Gangrel's hand, squatting down to get to the little girl's eye level. It was definitely a good thing that her skirt was so roomy, but it was probably better that it occurred to her to kneel, similar to Yarne, a few moments later. "That looks like a pretty neat spot, sweetie, are you coming out to join the party?" She pushed a lock of hair away from her eyes, expression warm. "I'm Juniper. The pointy guy with me is Gangrel, and the tall man is Vince. Do you want to find a game to play with us? I bet Yarne here could play with us, too. Right, Yarne?" She turned briefly from Tiki to look over at the men, beaming before turning back to Tiki. She had to resist the urge to reach out and tidy her hair and adjust the tie of her cloak for her.

The situation had been thankfully resolved, mostly due to the efforts of the small rabbit-ish girl that had come bounding in before in her transformed Taguel form. Amelia had let the wolf go (with a small reminder to have her see Marina for the usual paperwork) before the cat and the wolf followed the rabbit to the foyer. Not to eat her, of course. Why would you even consider that? No, they were going to play a game. Probably. Sunil wasn’t too sure himself.

The wolf had darted off unfortunately, leaving Sunil with the young rabbit. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, the bells on his outfit ringing softly. ”Looks like it’s just the two of us.” He said before lowering his arm and taking a more relaxed stance. ”So, what’s up? What idea did you have?”

Lina watched with surprise as the wolf left them. To be honest she felt very disappointed. “Yeah, I guess so… Well since that other cat with the flowers went into hiding, I thought we could play this fun game I heard about from a villager back home. They called it Sardines for some reason. Basically one person hides and the rest of us have to go find them, but instead of chasing them we have to hide with them. When there’s only one person left seeking, they lose and get to be the hider for the next round. I always wanted to try it. Maybe some other time,” she said with a heavy sigh.

Sunil nodded. ”He left a rather… distinctive odor when he left, so it wouldn’t really be fair to play as it is. If you can recruit more people to play, that would make things more interesting. But for now, we’d just have to put it off for another time.” He looked back at Lina. ”Well, if you don’t need anything else, I’m gonna head back and mingle with some more of the guests.”

And with that said, he shifted to his beast form and started to walk back towards the gathering hall where all the food and people were.

“Hey wait!” Lina reached out to grab the blue cat’s tail. “I made a promise that we wouldn’t transform inside the manor! You can’t go back in there looking like that! Shift back and give me your beaststone.” The girl let go and held out her hand, expecting him to place the stone there.

Sunil stopped and turned to look at the girl. He placed his paw on her hand and shook.

Yes, he was quite skilled at doing tricks for a cat. It was just one of the many things he had to learn growing up.

[We only had to promise that we wouldn’t play around in our transformed forms. As long as we don’t misbehave, we can totally transform in here. I do it all the time and Tibarn, the host, doesn’t bother me about it.]

The young taguel had the most confused look on her face. It’s like he’s trying to speak to me I know it. “Um… Sunil, I don’t understand uh… cat?” Whatever language it was, it sounded very foreign and weird. She couldn’t make out a word of it. “Come on. Stop messing around. Hand it over.” Now that she thought about she didn’t remember him carrying anything in his hand before transforming. Could he have hid it in his pocket? Does it even work that way? “You do have one, right? I mean all shape-shifters need some sort of stone to transform.”

He should have known. Sunil pulled his paw back and shifted. ”I said we only had to promise that we wouldn’t play around indoors if we were to shift forms. She didn’t make us promise that we couldn’t transform at all, even if we were on our best behavior. No, I won’t hand over my beaststone.”

“That lady made it sound like our animal forms are too big to be moving around the manor with all of these people around. It’s in our best interests not to transform anyway even if she didn’t say it word for word.” Like she was one to talk considering she started this movement of walking around in beast form in the beginning. However, she learned her lesson and swore on her honor as one of Chrom’s shepherds. “You won’t stop shifting so I need to confiscate it.” Lina kept her hand out. “I’ll give it back before either of us leave.”

”Yeah but see I’m a cat, and I do cat things like go into tight spaces and do things I’m not supposed to do. It’s not like this is the first time I’ve shifted in here, and it’s not like Amelia or Tibarn have stopped me before. Like I said, if we behave and don’t run around screaming like Velkan did, they won’t bother us.” Sunil countered.

The teenager frowned. “We got yelled at once. Why make things worse? Is it so bad to stay on two legs?”

”Because I don’t get pets if I’m not shifted. I like having my fur stroked. It’s comforting.” Sunil pouted.

Lina looked unamused. It became much more obvious that this guy needed a girlfriend. Poor girl didn’t realize how meta her thoughts were. “Can’t that wait for a better time? This isn’t that kind of party.”

Sunil facepalmed. This kid knew a lot more than she was supposed to know at her age. Just what the hell were her parents doing? ”That’s not what I meant. You know what? Just forget it. Let’s just head back.”

“Only if you promise not to use your beaststone inside the house,” she pouts as she moves in his way to the dining room.

Yes, mom. No shifting.”

“Just because of that sass, no dessert for you, mister.”

”Aww.”
