Prompt FS Username: Lavender Hues Which prompt: CYO
"Your character has been living a life that they don't want for themselves and has decided to run away from home. Do they get caught and punished, or do they succeed? If they succeed, where do they plan on going now that they're on their own?"
Character's Name: Kathori Prompt Response:
Kathori knew from the start that she would eventually be caught. No plan went without it's share of hitches and faults, and Kathori's was no exception. Still, even as she was dragged toward home by her village elder, she felt a sense of accomplishment that nestled itself comfortably in the smirk upon her face. Of course this smugness was washed from the surface when she found herself looking into the eyes of her elder half-way toward the house, but it was still there at the forefront of her mind.
Twisting, festering, and filling her body with determination.
She braced herself, as always, for another lengthy lecture about disrupting her peers during class and how a lovely, good girl such as herself should never start or instigate fights. How she was being raised to be a rose, not a beast, and how disappointed her father would be when he caught wind of what she'd done. Their words meant nothing to Kathori as she stood with her neck slightly raised, poised and proud. This woman-elder knew nothing about her or how she was being raised, and she liked it that way. They didn't deserve to know the truth anyway.
Eventually, the elder breathed her familiar sigh and allowed Kathori to prance her way home, but not before reminding her to return to school bright and early tomorrow morning. The young girl paid the elder a nod and shut the door, before rushing to the window to watch her wander away. The elder never bothered to turn around, as usual, and soon vanished back into town. Kathori, now grinning ear to ear, raced up the stairs.
The path to the attic was one that Kathori knew by heart. She knew which parts of the ladder creaked and where the weakest parts of the ceiling were so she could wander through undetected. Her father still knew when she was up there, though, because of how quiet the house would be. This meant that she had to walk carefully, get whatever she wanted to do done quickly, and get back downstairs before her father suspected anything. It wasn't what she'd call the easiest route to follow, but hiding things downstairs just didn't do the trick.
"Just gotta put this where it belongs and get back into my room before he notices." She whispered, her hands digging into the pockets of her pants. However, the sound of footsteps behind her caused her to pause in mid-draw, the glinting handle of the blade she'd pilfered visible as she turned, and her eyes locked with the gaze of her father. "O-oh, daddy! I didn't ex-"
"You didn't expect me to be home, I know." Her father interrupted, his arm reaching out toward Kathori. "Give that blade here, please. I will not have that thing in my house, Kathori."
"But daddy, I won it fair and square this time!" Kathori replied, allowing the blade to slip back into her pocket. "That kid said I couldn't knock him down and I did. You can't take what I've earned away from me!"
"I don't care if you won it, found it, bought it, or stole it!" Her father bellowed, rushing several steps forward. "It will not be in my house and it will not be in your hands!"
Kathori ducked away from her father's hands as he reached out to grab her and quickly snagged the bag she'd hidden in the corner of the attic. There was a moment's hesitation between the pair, with Kathori's father staring in shock and Kathori bracing herself for another attack, before the girl rushed to the attic window and jumped to the ground below.
"I'll show you how strong I am when I come back daddy!" She shouted, before turning and running away. "I promise to write to you every day!"
She didn't stop running until she was far enough away from town that she couldn't see the top of the tallest building and found herself in Dannon's Thicket. It was here that she rested, breathed, and started drafting a new plan. She had originally aimed to figure out where the next village was from hers' before she ran away, but that idea had literally gone swiftly out the window. All she could do now was wander until she found it, which wasn't anywhere near ideal. She sighed, reached into her pocket for the blade, and held it firmly at her side.
She would survive, as long as everything went according to plan.

-[What am I called?]- Ronga -[What will I be?]- Civilian -[Who am I?]- Nervous - Because of Ronga's history she is a bit of a nervous wart. She has the knowledge and knowhow to do what she sets out to do but often will second guess herself and ultimately miss out on those opportunities, try, try again! She wasn't always this way, and will hopefully grow into having more confidence in her tasks as she ages
Shy - Tying in with her nervousness is that Ronga can be very shy, more so around those she doesn't know because the last thing she wants to do is put her foot in her mouth! better to stay quiet and observe to learn then being boisterous and getting herself into trouble. But the more often she's around someone, like most who are shy she opens up a little bit and can start to make friends.
Dedicated - Despite being shy and nervous when her mind is set to something she does it. Even if she has to do the same thing over and over. She will tinker until she gets it right, no matter how exhausted, dauntless or dirty she gets. Repetition helps her get comfortable in what she's doing and is one of the main reasons she's able to accomplish those tasks.
Caring - Like most of her kind Ronga is very caring. You just might have to get thought the walls of nervousness and shyness to really see that. She will do her best to help anyone that asks it of her, though it's true, they might have to convince her to do some of it. She would be a great friend of traveling companion to anyone that would take the time to deal with her faults of hold her back. -[Where have I come from?]- Her mother is assumed to have passed away at birth but because her father has never talked about it, she's not all that sure what happened to her mother. She was primarily raised by her father and she idolized him. He was a battler and this young one wanted to be just like him. He was a kind man and he encouraged Ronga's dream of being a battler but then he was severally injured and most of the light in their life faded.
It was at that time that Ronga's confidence shrank and she stopped dreaming that she could be a battler like her father. Her temper and personality became much more meek. Why? Her father barely survived the attack. He could no longer speak, lost one of his legs and Ronga saw, aside from death, a horrible outcome. She would need to care of her father and being a battler that would happen.
She started spending her time reading books to him and learning about the other things in life and that was when she determined that she would simply become a civilian. She took a keen interest in Magic and has considered becoming a magic healer so that she could help others like her father. -[What will I do]- I see her finding a best friend, maybe a battler that she ends up accompanying and being the healing support for. I'm hoping that as she grows so will her personality, bringing from someone more shy and introverted into someone more open and outgoing.

Prompt FS Username: saihen Which prompt: prompt 1 Character's Name: Felix Prompt Response:
Violet eyes peaked from behind a curtain of leaves down onto the moonlit grass below him. He knew he wasn’t supposed to be here, but he just had to know what was beyond the wall. He’d heard weird noises and strange rumors about this place and just had to check it out, maybe there was something he could glean from the adventure. Not exactly taking the consequences of his actions in mind, Felix began creeping forward on the branch, as he had placed his hands on the top of the wall, there was a crack and something shot past his face. Felix quickly recoiled from shock and nearly fell out of the tree. “Oh, sorry kiddo, I thought ye was a squirrel or somefink,” a tall, green skinned person came out from behind a tree covered in mud and leaves, camouflage.
"Wha's a kid like yous doin' in a place like this? Yous dun belong here," it was almost like the shot had chased away more than just Felix courage, but his ability to think as well. What was he doing? Oh, yes, he was about to climb over a wall in order to get to the other side and explore the forbidden place. But could he really say that to this person? Not really, that would probably get him into serious trouble. “I--uhhh, was just climbing this tree and--” Felix stammered trying desperately to come up with any excuse he could for being in this area. The green person looked at him with disbelieving eyes. “I was uhh, well, I thought I heard someone calling for help and I came here and it seemed like it was coming from over the wall… I just wanted to help,” He said quickly.
Seeming convinced the green person smiled, “Is that all, well yous better be careful then,” the green person waved a hand that held a slingshot in it before turning to leave. Waiting a little bit for the stranger to be completely out of sight, Felix rolled his eyes at how easy it was to fool them and began his attempts over the wall. The branches were low enough that he could just climb down from them and the distance wouldn't be too bad. Heck, he could probably use these same branches to climb up the wall again if he needed to make a quick escape. Felix slid himself over the wall and climbed down the branches before finally letting go and landing on the grass. Briefly he lost his balance and steadied himself with the branches. He'd have to work on his landings at some point.
Felix looked around the small enclosure, there was a white gazebo in the middle of a very large and very clear pond, the bridge that connected the gazebo to land was decorated with plants he had never seen before. crouching low and looking around for any sign of trouble, he crept towards the pond. As he drew closer, he saw what was very clearly a figure, sitting in the gazebo. What they were doing, Felix couldn't tell and he felt his heart stop in that instant. Before he could look away, the figure looked at him. Gold eyes felt like they were piercing through his very soul, he took a sharp inhale and stiffened. "You don't belong here, Kid!" came a burley voice. with a sharp cry Felix swung around to face whatever it was. It was a thickset person with wings and dark blue-black skin. They took a swing to grab Felix, but he dodged just out of reach and ran towards the tree. He was going to be killed wasn't he? No! That couldn't happen! He was going to make it!
Just as he had reached the wall and grabbed hold of the branches, the large person grabbed his horns and pulled him back. "Don't hurt him Brutus!" came a very delicate, but masculine voice. "I'm sure he didn't mean to," with grasp of Brutus shoulder, the figure from the gazebo made themself present. "I am terribly sorry dear child, Bru has just seen too much damage done to this place by explorers, I'm sure you meant no harm," Brutus gave a snort but didn't let go of Felix. "I'm afraid, that we can't let you stay here however, please come with me," Felix stared at the stranger and then pulled away from Brutus. "But I don't even know you, how do I know you won't try something!," the thin stranger shrugged, "You don't, I'm Hermes by the way," he held his hand out. Reluctantly Felix took the Orderites' hand and followed them to the exit, wary of Brutus being in tow. "Felix.... it's a pleasure."
*Note: this takes place in a forested area nowhere near the plains.

-[What am I called?]- Peoli -[What will I be?]- Civilian (Scholar; Magical Healer) -[Who am I?]- Cultured - There are a lot of finer things in life, and Peoli appreciates them all. She is a fan of stories of all sorts, written and verbal, as well as numerous styles and types of art. She also adores any sort of jewelry, fine clothing, and perfume. But her refinement isn’t just in regard to things that she enjoys or likes: this Orderite is quite sophisticated in her temperament as well. Peoli is no stranger to politeness or etiquette, and takes personal pride in conducting herself in such a way. She also does her best to be as eloquent and diplomatic as possible, as she feels it’s important for people to see her in the best way.
Supportive - If you need someone to give you advice or to just simply be there for you, Peoli is your girl. She loves to provide encouragement to others, should the need for it arise. Even if she might not particularly agree or want the same thing as the person, she will do her best to support them, if it is truly what they want. It’s crucial, in her mind, to be there for as many individuals as she can. She doesn’t do this for hope of reward or glory, but simply due to the fact that it gives her great joy to do so. Being unsupportive or cooperative of someone, she knows, can be one of the most damaging things; she wants to avoid that at all cost.
Empathetic - Aside from being someone you can count on, Peoli is also very understanding. If a person is going through a rough time or some difficulties, she is very aware of the feelings of that person. She might not have faced the challenges that they are going through, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t try. She does her best to see things from the perspective of others, so as to best understand how they feeling. This Orderite is also blessed, her family says, by being able to read the emotions of others well. This comes in handy, in particular, if people don’t want to talk verbally. She can watch their body language or their facial expressions and can get a glimpse as to how they are feeling pretty well.
Naive – Despite priding herself in being refined, Peoli is a bit inexperienced when it comes to the real world. Due to growing up in a sheltered household, she hasn’t had the chance to experience much of the world. Most things at her home, be it cooking or even something as simple as having help getting dressed, were done with the help of household staff. This is how things always have been, and in her mind, this is how it will always be. It’s not that she is unaware that things could change or differ. She just simply believes that it won’t, and that she will continue living on in the lifestyle she is accustomed to.
Blunt - Honesty is the best policy as far as Peoli is concerned. The Orderite girl isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, even if it means it hurts someone’s feelings. This isn’t out of spite or malice – she doesn’t act this way to be mean, intentionally. She just feels that it is important to be honest and forthright when it comes to how she feels or thinks. It doesn’t do well to patronize people, simply to make them feel better. She wouldn’t want people to act this way toward her, so she doesn’t act in such a way toward them.
Meticulous - Details, details, details. Such things are of the utmost importance to Peoli. She is very fussy about certain things: cleanliness, in particular. Don’t expect to find a disaster of a room from this Orderite, or a disheveled appearance. All of her belongings are well taken care of and everything seems to have its proper place. This also extends to Peoli’s physical appearance as well. The girl takes much care to make sure she is clean and well put-together. She wants to look her best for others, and being grimy or dirty is definitely going to prevent that. Aside from cleanliness, her fastidious nature is applied toward other things as well: namely, her satisfaction toward something. If a project or a task has not been completed to her satisfaction or standards, she will often keep at it until it is. She has also been known to re-do things entirely. Such behavior isn’t expected toward other individuals – it’s just something that she holds herself to, personally. -[Where have I come from?]- Like the majority of Orderites, Peoli calls Ashen City her home. Her father, Adrax, was the son of a wealthy Orderite noble. During his formative years, he made his way as a warrior, and had a lot of daring and dangerous adventures. It was on these adventures that Adrax would go on to meet the woman who would become his wife, Nielah, an Orderite mage. As fate would have it, Nielah was also from a prominent Orderite family back in the city. With the two of them getting on in years, both Adrax and Nielah decided it was time to finally put their adventuring days to an end. They had a good run together, but it was time to settle down and start a family of their own. Both of their families, pleased by the fortuitous match, happily agreed, and then the two were married.
Adrax and Nielah were able to set up an extremely comfortable life for not just themselves, but for their eventual family as well. Since they both came from nobility, money wasn’t really a concern for either of them. The happy couple just took it upon themselves to make sure they had the best home possible for any children that they might have. As easy as their courtship and marriage had been, starting a family seemed to be a different game, entirely. The couple tried for years, but they were unable to successfully conceive a baby. The pair was just about to give up hope, when Nielah received some surprising news: she was going to have a baby, after all!
Peoli was born on a fall morning, and her parents couldn’t have been more thrilled. Yet, as much as they wanted to have more children, Adrax and Nielah decided to stop trying to have more, upon the birth of their daughter. It had been a trying time, and since they had been blessed with a newborn baby girl, they came to the decision that she was more than enough. Their highest priority was then making sure that Peoli was well taken care of.
Growing up, Peoli was fortunate to want for nothing. She had basically everything a child could ask for: loving parents, a beautiful home (as well as a summer home in the Valley of Andrah), private tutors, and a plethora of staff to make sure she was taken care of. As one could imagine, the young girl flourished in this environment, with a particular fondness for etiquette and the finer things that life had to offer.
The young Orderite’s formal apprenticeship is fast approaching. As her father and mother before her, Peoli fully expects to follow their example and take up a career suitable for someone of her standing. Her hopes would be to go on and be a diplomat or a dignitary or some sort, though whether that will happen yet or not remains to be seen.
---
Unknown to Peoli, currently, her life is about to be turned upside down. While she has been going about her studies and the other general aspects of her life, a lot of things have been going on behind the scenes: predominately in regard to her parents, and her father in particular.
A few years after his daughter was born, Adrax, unfortunately, developed a major gambling addiction. Whether this was a result of boredom from having settled down and missing adventuring, a way to cope or escape, or simply something that got too far out of hand is unclear, but the truth is that it happened. All the money that he had for his family is now gone. Adrax and Nielah have done well to hide this fact from Peoli so far, but they will be no longer able to any longer. The family is going to be forced to sell their homes, let their staff go, and find a different (and more affordable) home for themselves.
This, of course, is going to flabbergast Peoli. The once comfortable lifestyle that she was used to is now suddenly gone. The home she had grown up in is no longer hers to call home, and they have to up and move. But not only that, any sort of affluent job prospects that she hoped to have are now out the window. It’s not practical, in the eyes of her mother and father, for her to aim to be a diplomat any longer. The young Orderite will now be faced with the task on picking an actual trade that she can learn in order to sustain herself as she grows: she decides on becoming a scholar - a magical healer, to be specific.
Becoming a healer isn’t going to be an easy task for Peoli. She will have to learn the craft starting from the very basics. Once she starts learning, however, she will come to enjoy and love her newfound profession. The change in status and suddenly having to take up a trade are going to be some of the hardest things for her to grow accustomed to. Her relationship with her father will also probably become strained as well. Her mom will probably separate from him, and Peoli will go live with her as a result. She'll have to deal with living with only one parent, and going to visit her father over weekends or short periods of time, rather than living with both parents together. -[What will I do]- Once she gets into healing properly, she will want to become the best healer that she can be. She will also want to make a name for herself and build up toward the lifestyle she was once used to having.
