Abilities:
Shadow Manipulation : This is limited to changing the shapes of shadows, usually used for the purpose of scaring people she can eat, or intimidating people, and a example of its use is when you think the shadows of a tree is a person with a knife, using that to startle you she'll then eat your fear from the mild shock. She cannot use this skill to attack and it is usually used to intimidate or shock people.
Teleporting via the "Boogie zone": The Boogie zone what Coraline has began to call the dimension that she uses to travel around , of course she cannot go anywhere if there is not a shadow and it is limited to under beds and closets since those are her prime scaring locations, so as long as you have a light for under your bed and in your closet she cannot travel to your room. Coraline can drag people into the Boogie zone, but usually due to the nightmare filled wonderland people tend to be a little well scared out of their mind and usually some trauma, which is why she is not allowed to bring people there, also the more people traveling with her the more energy it takes, for just herself it is easy to move through the world while not wasting energy, but in order to safely take someone through the boogie zone she herself has to waste her energy on sheilding them mentally and physically from the harms of the boogie zone, either that or it can break a student and the student counciler has his work cut out for him. Coraline does not control this place, she is meerly able to safely go in and out of it since she is a being of fear, she does not know where this place came from and nor does she really want to find out. When traveling through here she has to have a certian location in mind and then go through the object she wants to come out of, example she wants to go to little suzy's room and she wants to come out from under the bed, she litrally has to picture either little suzy, or her bedroom and climb under one of the many beds in the boogie Zone, same goes for closets. If she accidentally lose where she is going of does not have a clear image of who she is going to see, then she can easily get sent else where, or lost.
The boogie zone's apperance is simaler to Ib ( the 8-bit horror game Image links : A B C ) world in the painting but having more of a bed and closet theme to it combined with wadanohara and the great blue sea's The Red sea (Image link: A B C) It does not have any know people living there, but you usually have the vibe someone is watching you, it is belived that this place changes or grows depending on how much fear is in the world at the time and what scares people the most, but then again the only one who really knows is Coraline and she does not talk about it much. Even though Coraline has to walk through the boogie zone time moves slower there, so ten minutes in the real world could equal about an hour to two hours, note Coraline is not going to be dragging students in here (unless the plot calls for it) since it can cause trauma (its nightmare fuel land).
Physical Illusion : When activated Coraline's body basically becomes a combination of your worst nightmare/ fear, or if you have a fear of a certain creature she'll look like that, and an example would be if you are scared of fire, she'll basically appear like a being of fire to you. Of course this ability has a limit since if she is using it for too long her mind tends to slip and she'll basically go on a fear eating spree (Aka going around terrifying people) until she gets tired (usually if using this and then teleportation will take 30 minutes- and hour depending on how many people see her) and faints due to exhaustion and being well fed which causes her to sleep for about 12-24 hours.
Personality: Coraline tends to give off the vibes of being scary, usually accidentally sneaking up on children and fellow staff causing them to jump or in some cases scream, and in some cases saying things that come out as horrifying. Though her personality is like this because of the fact that she is usually viewed as the bad guy or the one nightmare that people can't stop, because of this she is actually a little awkward when it comes to people, and at times can be very shy, even though she still seems scary, and in fact usually clueless as to why someone screamed or jumped. Cora tries really hard to be friendly with the staff, and even to the students, though her kindness when she offers candy to the students can cause them to think she drugged the candy or that she is trying to lure them over to her just to scare them. Cora despite eating peoples Anxiety has a lot herself and usually tends to look down upon herself a lot since she has troubles with people. When Coraline slips, I mean she slips into a temporary state of madness, due to the thrill of feeding off of fear since now a days she usually just feeds off of anxiety, or the occasional accidental scare, when she slips its usually when she uses physical Illusion near a large group of people, of course when she enters madness she tends to cackle as well as have semi-violent outbursts usually trying to escape those trying to get her to calm down and relax, she also has a lot of confidence for some unknown reason and does not want to go back to normal, of course when she gets too full she'll tend to sleep and wake up regretting what she did. She has the bad habit of getting jealous when she gets attached to people, whom combined with her usual scary aura; well let’s just say she gets a lot more food when she is jealous
History: Coraline does not remember when she was born, if she had parents, or where she was born, all she remembered was one day waking up and feasting off of the fear of humanity for all she could remember. She did not know why she chose to scare people other than to eat, and she never tried to get close to anyone, mainly due to the fact she was scared they'd reject her as soon as they found out what she truly was, a monster made of people’s fears and feasting off of those fears. That was until he appeared, he was a being that fed off of peoples Hope and joy, spreading those feelings to those around, she could not help but admire him, he was her mirror image to say the least, she was dark and terrifying, but he was bright and helped people feel calm and joyful, he was known as, The Sandman, and Cora could not help feel an attraction to him no matter how hard she tried to fight her feelings, she found herself not eating for three days due to wanting to watch him do his work, and how her heart fluttered at the mere sight of him. Soon he found Coraline as well which startled the female since he knew she had been following him for a while, this resulted in them eventually going on dates, though she hid what she was the best she could, pretending that she was not what she was she fell deeper in love with the male, to the point where he proposed to her. She was the happiest that she had ever been, until the incident, he found out what she was, it was her fault, she had not been eating like she should, too busy being near him, this resulted in her snapping and him seeing her for what she truly was a monster. At first he acted like nothing was different, but she could feel his fear oozing out of him, she knew she was a monster so when one day she awoke to see a note that said sorry she began to loath herself, she once again dove into scaring humanity, which having a war to deal with made it easier for her to dine since what caused more fear then war. She was broken and she stopped caring. Until that is after the war, when the war ended it was like there was no more fear, she felt herself growing weaker and weaker, only being able to feed upon the fear of children and anxiety ridden adults, this caused her to begin questioning herself, did she actually like scaring people, or did she only do it so she could eat, was there some other feeling she could eat other then fear and anxiety, or was that it, and if she could dine on other emotions, would he come back to her. During this time news of a school for humans and non-humans alike began to pool around her current location, which got her interested in working there. When she finally found the school she found out that due to the rumors surrounding her they did not want her as a teacher since they did not wish trauma upon the students, but instead offered her a job as the secretary there, saying she'd probably not deal with students too much and basically it was a filing job, not that Cora minded, in fact she was even happy that they offered her a job deciding that she'd use this opportunity to change herself, little did she know how hard that would be, since she still has trouble getting along with the students and her co-workers, due to her fearsome reputation and personality.
