Personality: Shinji is a kind compassionate guy who’s generally laid back and easygoing. When he addresses someone, he uses their surname as he is a firm believer in respect. By others, Shinji is seen as a gentleman but he has an even softer spot for women. Though he may appear to be daydreaming at times, he's is actually conscious of his surroundings and what's going on. He believes a journalist should never drop his guard since you never know where you can find a story. Just the same, his occupation has caused him to be suspicious of others at times and to have minor trust issues. Some might even say he's a bit paranoid; if so, only a little. Since Shinji hates getting hurt, he tries to avoid pissing people off and will more often than not, attempt to flee if he’s in a hostile situation. While his intelligence may be average, he is a thinker and will use his wit to escape from danger. However, he might not be willing to run if it means leaving a friend behind....if he had any, that is.

Past: Born with immunodeficiency, Shinji's parents were very protective of him. Apparently, his mother's sister died at a young age from not being able to fight off a fever. She forbid him from going outside unless absolutely necessary, so he never got to play outdoor games with the other kids. His mother even home schooled him, being a stay at home mom while his father was an officer on the force. Shinji, being an only child, had no choice but to spend most of his time alone reading or with his mom. He was so envious of other kids especially when he would get sick.
During one particular time at the age of ten, his mother left him home alone to get medicine for his cold. It wasn't the first time he stayed home alone but this time was different. A thief who had been casing their home had broke in, unaware anyone was home. Shinji struggled to climb out of bed and call for help but the thief found him first. He was an unaccounted for complication in his plans which was causing him to panic. And then his mother came home and discovered this stranger in her child's room. Naturally, a fight ensued, one that Shinji could nothing about save for calling for help. The thief pushed her into the kitchen where she hit her head; the criminal taking the opportunity to flee. His father was the first to arrive but by then it was too late...
Shinji had no choice but to go to public school now and was even given permission to go outside. He wanted him to learn to take care of himself and quite eagerly. The young boy wondered about his father who stayed up late and wasn't around as much; wondering if he blamed him for what happened to his mom. Shinji tried to forget about it by focusing on his studies and setting a path toward becoming a journalist.
Years passed when his father died, being gunned down by an unknown assailant. They had become estranged over the years and hadn't even spoken to each other since he finished high school and moved out. When he went back home, he found his dad's letter to him. His father had spent the last couple of years looking for his mother's killer and at long last, he had found him and planned to exact revenge. Shinji finally understood. His father was suffering all this time alone and had he noticed... But there was nothing he could about it now. Nothing save for tracking down his mother's killer.

Abilities: Paper Manipulation: Shinji can manipulate paper through telekinesis or with his hands. He can alter its shape, size and color and can even repair damaged paper. It can be made to be sharp as knives and as hard as steel, which also allows him to create weapons, other constructs such as walls and even paper clones. Technically, he could use them travel in the air; however, his own fear prohibits it.
