Hope's library is one of the largest hall in the entire castle, its also one of the most historically unchanged rooms since it was built. Aside from new lighting and perhaps better seating arrangements, it hasn't changed for the most part. The hall is mostly one long walkway, to each side are large areas of organised books, there's three stories and a balcony looking down to the bottom floor directly from the top. At the end of the hall and at the beginning their are spiral staircases leading up. On the ground floor there is a large reception in the centre, several librarians work there at all times. The ceiling is an arrangement of glass domes, during the day they let in as much light as possible and at night it shows the stars, magically enchanted during stormy weather. Rumour has it that the Silent Brothers found a secret room where they keep their favourite books, some of them unlisted. But they refuse to admit to anything, or is it just because the two of them don't talk?

"Thank you" Lumina said to the librarian, who passed over a small piece of paper with the drawing of a compass on it. "Have a good time across the sea" the librarian added with a small smile. Lumina, with a smile back, turned around and looked down at the paper. The compass moved it's pointer as she swivelled in place to check, looking up with an accomplished and fixated look in one direction she began marching forwards. She passed many other students quietly working along the way, she found the drawing pointing to the spiral staircase, and not till the first floor did it point to get off the steps and towards another direction. It was like a whole other feel up here, she always liked how the higher up you got the quieter it became in the library. She looked down again, checking where she had to go, and as she looked up was almost cut-short by a student rushing by with a bundle of books in her arms, "oo, careful there" Lumina quietly chirped, turning around to face the girl who almost stumbled, "Sorry Estrella!" she tried to reply quietly. Then another voice interrupted, "no running! Jheez"
"Sorry Lil' P! Exam in an hour!" the girl added rushing down the stairs as if she hadn't revised at all! Lumina looked at her shoulder, were a small glowing pumpkin pushed its way out of her flowing black hair, Lumina whispered "be nice, she's probably stressed enough as it is"
"She's always sleeping in your class"
"All the more reason to let her study as quickly as possible" Lumina chirped to him.

Without further ado she finally found herself in one of the corners, at first she had to make her way through a long row of book shelves that made it seem like a small corridor. The open area of the library seemed long and narrow, but away from the balcony and the view to the top floor each floor went quite deep into the sides of the room. At the end she found an opening that seemed to opening up into a larger area, at each corner of each floor there was always a small reading space with a few comfortable chairs, a round table and beanbags with walls made of the bookcases surrounding them. Some floating candles lit up the space, since the light she could see from the main library area seemed so far away now.

Tsuna Miki

The redhead ran into the first building she could find regardless of it being a library. Education itself wasn't a problem, it was being in an enclosed environment surrounded by deafening silence, crabby librarians, and model students. All things that caused her suppress her brutish nature and forced her to adapt to the quiet environment. However, due to her reputation she knew those simpletons won't come looking for her there. She's safe for now, right? Brushing against the concentrated students and ignoring the whining libraries, she dashed towards the staircase. Coming up it was a girl with her hands full of books and the books were blocking her view obviously because she didn't even notice Tsuna running to her. She collided with the girl making her drop all her books and lose her balance almost falling backwards down the stairs. Without much thought, Tsuna grabbed her by the scuff of her dress and pulled her forward. At first the girl looked anger, but when she realized how had saved her she was shocked and confused. Tsuna looked down to her embarrassed before pulling her hat down slightly and leaping over the mesmerized student. "Don't mention it, Kid!" she replied to the girl even though she clearly didn't respond at all.

Running though a long corridor of books, she burst into a larger room decorated with chairs and reading tables of all sorts. The private reading areas were a nice addition and the floor seemed secluded from the rest. No was around that she could see, but then again she was in a panicked state that she wasn't thinking clearly. Closing the door shut and blowing out some floating candles near her, only for them to flicker back on, she got on all fours and crawled under the table. Curling into a ball, she buried her face into her knees hoping that the two will leave her alone.

Lumina let out a short sigh and put her hands on her hips, looking over the room briefly for a moment. It was pretty cosy, she was surprised to find that the book she was looking for would be in this section, but she'd never gone so deep into the library before and this was an old topic. She had no idea Tsuna was already here and hiding. Lumina stepped by the desk, coming to a collection of books along the wall and ebgan trailing it with her finger, looking at her compass as it flickered around before her, "silly thing" she said to herself, "can send you all the way to the right spot but you still got to look from A to Z yourself...." Then Lil P sniffed the air with his glowing yellow nostrils, his cracks for eyes narrowed, "There's someone here, Lumina"
"Don't be silly, it's just you and I" she said not paying attention to the small palm sized pumpkin on her shoulder. Flames licked from his mouth as he stressed "Fine, fine, but don't blame me when the wolf bites" quite nonchalantly. "I never blame you Pump-"
"behind you, Luminaooo" he couldn't finish properly as he was thrown around and clung onto her shoulder for dear life as Lumina twisted on the spot and stared around the room as if about to be attacked. She must have taken his warnings, finally. She had her arm outstretched and orange sparks flickered now and again from her fingertips, but she looked confused, "P-" she was then suddenly drawn to the attention of a young girl crouched beneath the desk, "Hello?" she then asked, pulling back her hand and crouching slightly, "are you alright? Hiding from exams?". At that moment Lil' P managed to nuzzle his way out of Lumina's curly black hair and laid hiw glowing yellow eyes on the girl too, "Pft, who hides there, that can't be comfortable!"

Tsuna Miki

The clicking of heeled footsteps neared her location and examined the shelf beside the desk. The pair of leather bound legs and ecstatic voice belonged to none other an Lumina. Tsuna had never had the pleasure of taking her class, but herd great things about her teaching credentials. As she talked to herself happily scanning through the spines of books, an unseen companion of hers spoke. This fellow sounded contrasting to her own personality and had a knack for pointing out the unknown. She practically jumped out of her skin and began chewing on her claw like nails. The fact that she is a Therian shouldn't be known to any of the staff or students considering her father bluffed the paper work himself. They've been in hiding for a while and it was a risk coming to the academy, but her father insisted she had the best education possible.

At first, Lumina brushed off the pumpkin's advice making Tsuna think she was in the clear. However, the woman had a inch for curiosity and much to Tsuna's dismay she found her. The girl narrowed her eyes in annoyance as the woman tried to reach for her before retreating to ask if she was alright. She assumed she was ditching exams and in her opinion it wasn't a bad excuse. Sighing and inching out from under the desk, Tsuna stood up and wiped herself down. "Well, you know I have to uphold my reputation." she replied sarcastically as Lil' P revealed himself from within Lumina's curly black hair. She took a step back in surprise and eyed the tiny animated pumpkin as if it were a scientific breakthrough. "If you don't mind me asking, why is that pumpkin alive?" It sounded rude in a way, but she had to know Lumina's secrets.

"Reputation?" Lumina repeated, raising her eyebrows and tilting her head. This girl couldn't just be any student then, had to be someone infamous amongst the teachers here. She was about to ask when she had her own question, pointing at Lil' P quite accusingly. "Oh?" she looked at him, and the small pumpkin's eyes glowed brighter, "What is that supposed to mean?!" he threw otu, but Lumina hushed him, looking back at Tsuna and saying "I gave him a part of my soul a very long time ago"
"Now i don't have a choice but to live"
" He would have died if I didn't, the other pumpkins were taking al the nutrients in the ground" she seemed to add without really listening to Lil' P's sarcastic comment, as if she knew not to take offence to him. He wasn't always like this, sure he was irritable, but to Lumina he was thankful, for Lumina he would do anything. "His name is Lil' Pumpkemon"
"Lil' P for short" he added, crossing his small vine-like arms.

Lumina then raised her hand and flicked her finger almost to gesture at Tsuna, "Are you Tsuna Miki? Shouldn't you be preparing for Otherearth tomorrow morning?" Lumina thought of the list of names she read just before coming to get the book, it was slowly growing with each passing hour, even now some students are still giving the orbs a go. She remembered seeing Tsuna's name, and another teacher's remark on how it couldn't possibly work.

Tsuna Miki

Did Lumina really buy into her reputation crap just now or are the teachers here just easy to fool. Still the woman's peeking curiosity made her want to stay, besides, Lil P had a few words for her. His eyes glowed brighter and his vines wrestled about; and if it wasn't for Lumina's interference they would be in a battle of insults right about now. The witch explained how she transferred a portion of her soul into the pumpkin to save it. Either she was a selfless woman or an idiot fretting over something so insignificant...kind of like how her father saved her life. Tsuna smirked a bit when the pumpkin gave her attitude and she couldn't help but see how much alike they were. Suddenly, Lumina's fingers magically flickered as she had just come to the realization of who she is. All the teachers should know who she is from the violence reports and the extensive detection records. Sighing the girl nodded, "Yeah, that's me. I'm already prepared for Otherearth. I got my weapon and my crystal. That's all you need, right?" If the woman mentions anything about friends or clothes, she was going to hurl. She doesn't need the sentimentality from someone she barely knows.

Lumina had to do her best not to let out an obvious choke, Lil' P let out a small chuckle himself as he extended a tiny vine arm and swiped as if to gesture her to take back what she said. "Well... once we're their tomorrow afternoon we won't be coming back for a while. Spare clothes... books... hobbies... extra equipment? You know, anything sentimental?" Lumina asked in a strangely caring tone, just then getting distracting as she let out a "AHA!" peering over Tsuna's shoulder, "there you are!" she darted past Tsuna, pulling out a book's corner with her finger and taking it in her palm, "gotcha!" she announced, looking over the book's front that read "Before the Great Voyage: A History". "Oh" she then turned to face Tsuna once more, "Sorry, carry on"

Why was Lumina mothering her when they had just met, yet she liked the experience. Her mother passed away when she was young and although her father was highly involved with her life it wasn't the same. Rolling her eyes, she replied, "I have a like two other outfits that look the same as this one so I'll probably stuff those in a small bag. Books don't prepare you for the real think so there is no use for them. I don't really have any hobbies, maybe fighting. As for anything of value, nothing expect the last letter my father sent me. I keep it hind in a secret pocket in my hat." As she was explaining this, Lumina declared that she had found the book she was looking for and swiped it off the shelf immediately. The title of the book intrigued her for a split second before the teacher asked her to continue her boring list. Tsuna shook her head and announced, "That's it. What about yourself? Does Lil' P have stuff of his own?" she couldn't wait to hear the answer.

"Oh, one of those gals eh?" Lumina winked. She put her book between her hip and arm. Tsuna then went on to mention her father's last letter, last sounding particularly interesting and perhaps disheartening. "Good" Lumina said, "That's the best kind of thing to keep..." she seemed to stare blankly as if in a trance as she recalled something. She remembered her past love, Blue. She could picture him just then, she could picture the first letter she had from him admitting his love for her. At Tsuna's question though she returned, "I..." she shrugged one shoulder, "have something like yours. Several different outfits though, I like a change. Lil' P on the other hand-"
"Nothing, na-da, zilch. I got this oath to deal bring with me, ain't got no more space for pointless objects"
"Oh, Pumpkemon" she grinned, putting a spare hand on his head and tapping it a few times softly, he seemed to enjoy it even if he did try t hide it and keep up his big-man charade.

Then there was a voice echoing across the library, it spread across the entire academy from one end to the other - it was an announcement from the headmaster. His magic made it echo across each room from the centre until reaching the end. Lumina though it a rather irritating invention, when her students in the outer classrooms heard the rustling of others getting up or something in deeper classrooms, they all knew an announcement was comign and a distraction from class soon after. It made controlling the kids somewhat difficult sometimes. "A reminder for all students accepted into the Otherearth mission. Remember, if you are not boarded your assigned Zeppelin, which you will find within your crystal, then you will not be joining. Please prepare for along journey and bring everything that which you may require. To all staff involved, there will be a meeting in my tower immediately. That's all."

"A meeting?" Lumina repeated, Lil' P spat hot air, "what's he want now"
"I'm wondering the same thing. Well" she smiled to Tsuna, "I guess I have to go, sorry for cutting short. Don't be late in the morning, 8AM sharp. Maybe we'll be on the same Zeppelin"

And with that she made her exit.

Tsuna Miki

Lumina's wink made Tsuna confused because she wasn't sure if she was a simple girl or an ignorant one. The teacher thought it was good that she carried something of value before standing their silently for quiet some time. Eventually, she told her that her luggage was similar, but Lil P however, had nothing to bring on the trip which was understandable. What would a live pumpkin need anyway?

Suddenly, the crackling of the speakers that rang out in every section of the school announced important details about the trip. Pulling her foggy cracked crystal from her pocket, she could see the name her assigned Zeppelin in the middle of it. Even when she rotated it, the image trapped inside always faced her no matter what. Besides that, students were told to be well prepared and teachers and stuff were summoned to a meeting. Lumina and Lil' P weren't to enthusiastic about leaving but duty calls and with that they were gone. Tsuna sighed as she repocketed her crystal and decided to go back what little she had.

Tsuna Miki

The mission was far from successful, the failure in fact, pushed Tsuna deeper into depression and rifled anger. She had lost to a man named Legion whom sought the Sunset Orchid too and got it. All her friends, including the twins, were poisoned by the Black Dragon vines in the middle of battle due to the Bogglings inference in trying to help. She was only able to retrieve a few petals from the flower before Legion disappeared with it. Afterwards, she had to activate the portal to abandon the mission and get to the hospital wing before they all perished. Luckily, the petals were enough to prevent their deaths, however, their recovery periods will take longer than a week. The poison was something she had experienced before when she was young so its potency barely lasted a day over her. She only suffered a small infliction though compared to the rest of them that got caught up in the crossfire. The most harrowing part of the whole excursion was not finding a Necromancer. Also it slipped as to what her true intentions entailed and of course everyone was against it.

Tsuna pretended to abandon the attempt of searching for a Necromancer again to appease them, but couldn't let go of the obsession. Since her team was in recovery, she had secretly held herself up in the library researching the subject, but sadly ending up empty handed. Dark magic of any kind seemed prohibited from students here, the goodness of this faction was starting to sicken her. One day, she overhead the library gossip to her new hire about to alleged secret files buried in the back room of the library. This room was denied to students of course, but she somehow broke in at night and skimmed through the files until the alarm went off. She took what she could and ran out of the building making it back to her room before getting caught. Her crime was not in vain for she happened to procure an interesting file on Zoltan Mues. Micha'el's brother. Apparently, he had his own fix on multidimensional earths, Non Magic Earth and Magic Earth and how he betrayed the school and Asmodius Crops to get his hands on the dark arts to prove his theories.

She remembered how Micha'el mentioned his evil convictions, but that remembers him. He must enchant the seer to forget about him upon encountering them. She was going off speculation that this was Micha'el's brother due to the late name being a coincidence. Even if it wasn't him, the man had potential to give her what she wanted; a chance to see her father one last time. Tsuna knew that this discovery wouldn't sit well with anyone, especially Micha'el, but she had to seek him out. Perhaps, if he's a blemish on Micha'el's life like he claims, then she could rid the world of him making it a better place for everyone. Trying to justify this suicide mission was madness and she already hated herself for sinking so low. Still...she'd never be satisfied until this was over.

She began her preparation the next night and swung by the infirmary to give her unconscious team a goodbye. The twins she gave a pat on the shoulder and for Micha'el and Lottie a kiss on the forehead because she didn't know when she was coming back...if she came back at all. She didn't have much to pack, just the clothes on her back and weapon. The dinner Lumina had made she asked for seconds and thirds for so that she could be full for the journey. This made Lumina and Ivan suspicious of course but they both figured she was getting out of her frustrated rut. Lil P on the other hand saw right through her lies and intended on finding out her real motive.

Earlier she had stolen a piloting manual from the library on the escape pods contained within the Zeppelins. The book was rather self explanatory seeing how a student would need to operate one by themselves in case of an emergency. She even learned how to activate the lunch bay within the ship for a smooth take off. Lucky for her, the Zeppelins had just docked for the class field trips coming up in the next two weeks. The Headmaster liked preparing for trips early which worked in her favor. Around midnight or so, she climbed out her window and began to walk down to the lake where the Zeppelins waited. She doubled checked her back occasionally to make sure she wasn't being followed. However, someone always managed to slip under her radar and despite how close they were she could never caught him. She stopped in her tracks about half way there not bothering to turn around as she called out, "Go back Lil P. You can't come with me, not this time." She said in a hoarse tone. Truly, if she wanted anyone to tag along it'd be him. She didn't know how it'd effect Lumina if he was away from her to long. She was heading to Skyfall, the last place Zoltan had been present and that was at least a days journey depending how fast she pushes the pod.

Your destiny isn't so immutable

As soon as Tsuna appeared back at the academy unannounced Lumina was one of the first people to come charging into the infirmary to check up on her and the other students. Tsuna was stricken with worry and fear, so much so that she had abruptly left a class unsupervised. The only information that she could get out of Tsuna was that of a mysterious man named Legion. It sent the other teachers frantic until the Headmaser appeared and caused everyone to immediately calm down. Since then... its been just Tsuna. Micha'el and Lottie, even the twins have been unconscious ever since. The Sunset Orchid was a powerful thing, and it definitely had its touch on them. By the end of the day that they had arrived back both of Lottie's uncles had arrived, as well as Micha'el's very worried mother. Hope's nurse had assured them that their children would recover, even if it might take some time. The worst part wasn't that though, it was when Micha'el's mum asked if the twins would have any relations coming to see them. The nurse then told her and Lottie's uncles that the twins were orphans... and no one would be coming to visit them. Except for the headmaster of Merlin Academy that was. Who still hadn't turned up.

Some days had passed and Tsuna had been up to no good, and Lil' P was onto her. He managed to sneak away from Lumina and eventually managed to intercept Tsuna before she could make her final escape. When Tsuna caught him he was simply sat in the middle of the corridor behind her, glowing faintly. "Do you really think I want to go with you?" he asked, "c'mon, Lumina's magic would break and i'd become pumpkin mush." The corridor was old and made of stone, it had arched windows on one side that overlooked a courtyard a few stories beneath them, by now it was pretty late at night and barely anyone was out. Lil' P let out a sigh, "I don't really know what you're doing, Tsuna. But I know it will break Lumina's heart if you vanish, especially now. All i know is you're searching for someone that doesn't exist. Yeah I saw your stolen books, I won't tell, I'm not a snitch."

After a few minutes, the sound of magic swirling and tearing open could be heard from the courtyard far below them. Lil' P followed Tsuna towards the edge to get a better view. After begging Tsuna for a hand to get a perch on the edge of the window they both observed as a swirling blue portal opened up. These kinds of portals were difficult to make and used up a lot of power. Some magic users could instantly teleport, but holding a portal open was like channeling that magic constantly until the portal was ordered to shut. That's why the wizards of Merlin were usually the only ones to open them. And Lil' P was right in his thought process, from it came two wizards in flwing blue robes and silver pieces of armour. Each held up a tall staff with a blue arcane crystal floating at its tip. At the same time Lumina could be seen approaching the two wizards just as a third person came from the portal. "The Arch Magus, is he here?" Lumina asked, coming to a stop when she saw who passed through the portal. It was a woman with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes, she was ever-youthful and beautiful beyond measure, but she held wisdom in her tight expression, and even from here her eyes looked tired. "A-Alexis..." Lumina replied just as the portal closed behind them. "You stand before Archmagus Alexis Truesvale" one of the wizards said, giving Lumina a sorrowful look. Then alexis looked at her too and said "the Grandmaster's illness become too much for our best physicians. Professor Magus-Bane will no longer lead the Arcaz Sovereignty. I am now Arch Magus, I am here to see my students."
"Archmagus huh" Lil' P whispered to Tsuna, "hasn't been one of those in decades. Magus-Bane became the first Grandmaster, assuming both head roles in the blue guild. Looks like Alexis is splitting it back into two."

After that Alexis and her two wizard guards followed Lumina towards the infirmary and not much else could be heard from their conversation. Lil' P would have to catch up later. "So, kid. You're really gonna go?"

Tsuna Miki

Tsuna could only smirk at Lil' P's comment, but in all reality the consequences of him leaving Lumina would be dire. "I suppose not. You wouldn't be much use after that." She snickered uncomfortably before whipping around to stare at him sadly. They stood in the middle of the stone corridor with crystal clear windows to one side and open archways looking out over the courtyard on the other. Lil' P didn't know her exact prerogative but could guesstimate her intentions by seeing the books she was harboring. Even without him mentioning it she knew she'd be breaking Lumina's heart with another disappearance. "I don't deserve her affection..." Tsuna whispered feeling unworthy of anyone's love. Lil' P was correct on a lot of things, she was searching for her father that had been dead a month or two now. He's no longer apart of this world but a shred of her hoped that something of him was left behind enough for her to say goodbye before letting go of him entirely.

Before she could reply, spiraling magic erupted below and they both rushed over to the window. Tsuna hiked the pumpkin up on the sill as the observed two wizards of Merlin emerge from the portals. Their silk blue robes adorned with sliver armor and staffs topped with arcane crystals sparkled in the moonlight. Lumina approached them before a third person came through the portal surprising them all. The Arch Magus as she announced was actually someone they all knew. An incredible woman of comprehensible beauty and statue flowed out, her blonde hair and blue eyes were unmistakable; Alexis Truesvale. She was bequeathed the position of Archmagus as the Grandmaster has fallen ill and unfortunately will not recover. She's the leader of the Arcaz Sovereignty and a representative for the twins whom she recently found out were a lot like her.

Lil' P explained how he hasn't seen an Archmagus in decades and how Alexis is changing the guild's system. They all scampered away to the infirmary leaving the two with the information to do as they pleased with it. Finally, Lil' P turned to her and asked her if she was taking off which she gave a nod. "I'll never stop chasing this obsession down until the end happens or I'm just left in the dark forever. She grimaced and placed a gentle hand on her friend. "Lil' P...I don't know when I'm coming back...if I ever come back," She paused to reflect on her memories with everyone and continued, "I just want you to know how much I love all of you and them." She bit her lip holding back tears before whispering, "I'm sorry..." She choked out and with that she took off down the hall run as fast as her stiff legs could carry her.
