The association is normally that heat equals dry, but as it was, the moisture being locked away behind the thin glass of winter like some fine jewelry, this too was more like a desert than Ambiance might have been used to. ... Then again, it could have just been nerves.
Rightly so. Link was unresponsive for a long moment after Lady Yuna's initial tug. Finally the snow around his face began to crunch and pop, and soon enough, though it might have still seemed like an eternity, the Hero was looking up with tired eyes and that silly grin at Ambiance, searching for strength to get up as well as an apology for all that went down. He needed a boost, and who better to give it to him than Ambiance, who had been by his side for most of his adventure thus far. ... The sound of a horse neighing and wolfos howling filtered in from beyond sight.

The moment that passed with no evident respond only tightened the tension that ambiance felt. The suspense broke with the sound of moved snow and shifted ice. He moved.
Movement was life. He turned enough for her to see his lopsided grin, further proof of life that accompanied a narrow victory. Perhaps later there would be bold stories told about it. Perhaps later there would be a new chronicle written that added to the many great heroic stories told of the hero who wielded the triforce of courage. Later, perhaps, when the shock's imprint faded enough to make this memory one that was more heroic. At the moment, the traveler from Labrynna only felt relief and gratitude for what seemed to be a miracle.
Link had bested the dragon and had not been crushed by the fall.
She instinctively helped him to his feet, taking hold of his arm and helping him up. She helped to brush off the snow that clung to his attire, and only found herself distracted from this assistance with Eponia's cry and the wolfos... Wolves. Though, after the dragon, she wasn't as nervous about them anymore. The wolfos were in no position to carry her to the top of a mountain, roast her with a breath, and then eat her. No, they would just tear her apart and be done with it. Basic, simple.... and she knew that they could be persuaded with music.
Ambiance held to Link until she was fairly certain he could stand on his own. "Now... how to get back.."

This was one of those times when it didn't seem at all like they were ever going to get back, but rest assured the worst of it was already done. The Hero had enough energy to guide Epona back to the Goron village, where they could rest for the night, if only just barely. His heartbeat fell flatly against his chest two to one with his feet's dull thuds on the snow. If Ambiance would take care of the Wolfos they could ride out of there just fine.
The Medigoron seemed surprised to see Link alive; could it have anything to do with the fact he looked like a frayed pinata of himself? That night there was a banquet in honor of the Hero and the brave traveler from lands unknown who helped him in his struggle against the terrible Lord of the Mountain. The Goron spread was high in minerals. For the heroes, though, there were all kinds of roasted insects and even dodongoro steak. With Chu flan for desert and juice from the strange fruit which grew there it was a meal that would put to memory all wounds and strife.
(I'll give you the choice of playing around here or skipping on back to Castle Town. Either way, that's an exit.}
