Yildirim led a simple life in Telrunya City. He woke up early every morning, went to his shop near the market, made and repaired watches (his ionic charge powers made this a real breeze), browsed through the market after work, and came home. He never purchased anything at the market, really. He wasn't the impulsive type. Occasionally he'd pick up something that was needed at home, and of course he bought groceries, but never anything fun or exciting.
At home, he and his sister Femke would make dinner together, talk about their days while eating, and then head for their rooms for the night. Yildirim would typically read until it was time to go to sleep. Femke did...whatever she did. He never really thought to ask. It was a quiet, peaceful existence, and yet....in a deep, hidden-away part of his soul, Yildirim longed for something more exciting, some life's purpose that gave his life meaning. For them, it was the same thing, day in and day out.
One day over a dinner of pork and apple-walnut salad, he turned to Femke. "What do you want to do with your life?" he asked. Perhaps she had a better idea and it would inspire him.

Femke's days were mostly spent keeping the home she shared with her brother clean and spotless. Occasionally she'd manage to get over a crippling fear and exit to browse things on the market. Never anything purchased, but always something interesting and new to look at. One time, she'd found a dinglehopper! An honest to Guardians dinglehopper! It had been one of the strange things she'd felt the need to remember. She'd have made the purchase if it wasn't all Yildirim that kept the two of them afloat when it came to meals.
At least she was really good at cooking! She grinned to herself, having made a face out of the pork and apple walnut salad when her brother spoke up. "With my life? She tilted her head, bangs falling into her face. "I dunno. I'm kinda happy right now...." Femke tapped her chin, thinking about it. "Maybe find a pae to settle down with? Or a really nice tower way up high somewhere, where no pae can find me and I can have a collection of dinglehoppers and thingamabobs. She nodded. It seemed the perfect idea. "What about you?" Maybe he was secretly plotting something? Who was she to judge?
