  ☁ Opening."It's really dark out here", a small voice chimed. The girl rubbed her rabbit pelt gloves together to make the smallest bit of heat. She quickly pulled her red hood over her head and wrinkled her nose. "Yeah, well we should probably head back soon, Ma's gonna kill us", the boy sounded displeased, like he wanted to spend more time out there...But his grandmother's wishes always went first; you can hunt, but don't wander too far. They disobeyed one, but she'd never know. He sighed and looked over at his kid sister; she who purposefully made small breaths in the air; she liked seeing the small clouds she could make. Though she acted like she had never seen the snow before, or felt the chilly air. She was always like this, fascinated with these small things. She would always listen intently to the stories Ma would tell about the snow. Especially the ones about the Chione.
They were snow nymphs, so to speak. There was a point in time where people believed they were real, but now they're just bedtime stories. Gone, but sort of not forgotten.
"Come on, lets go" the boy said sharply, he could tell that his sister would trail off any minute, so he was sure to get her home quickly before she decides to run off on her own. It snows here almost all year round, and it never lets up. "No blizzard, please...Please", he thought. They seemed to trigger more and more around this time of year, so it was harder on their village to survive. They were so far from home now, deep in the forest, if one began right now they could possibly freeze to death out here. His negative thoughts went wild, they couldn't be controlled. So he begun to panic. "Hey, Kiran", he said and looked around. She was gone.
"Kiran!" he yelled, so loud that it echoed through the trees. His heartbeat sped up, and he ran. Why, now of all times did she have to test him? Why did his grandma have to tell her all those stupid stories? Why can't she ever listen? Is she ok? So many questions ran through his head, but he kept calling for her. As he did, wind roared through the trees. He couldn't see anything, his eyes were shut tight and he was blown back by wind. And he was out like a light.

☁ The myths.
Chione ☁ said to be the Greek goddess of snow, but in the northern parts they're a race of snow nymphs that inhabit snowy mountains. They capture orphan children, or that's what people believe. Horror stories, like they hunt them for sport and the like. Other's also blame them for the many blizzards that harbor the village.
Lycos ☁ A story told along side Chione. A type of wolf that is under Chione rule, but it is also said that they're an enemy of the Chione.
