Playable Races
The greatest thing about Percy Jackson is that not every hero was a demigod or legacy. Some, like Grover, were Satyrs and like Percy's brother Tyson, a Cyclopes. This thread is here to let people know they have more than just a demigod option.

Humans The most populated race on the planet, of which the majority are blind to the existence of mythical creatures and their existence due to the Mist. Some humans, are able to see through the mist, of these humans, Gods and Goddesses have been known to feel an attraction to them generating numerous Demigods over the years.
Demigods Those born from a mortal and divine (god/dess) parent are called demigods. Demi means part, or half, hence they are "half gods". Unlike their godly parents, demigods are mortal unless offered by the gods immortality. They are capable of drinking nectar, a divine drink of the gods, which will heal them unless consumed in huge quantities of which will kill them. There are two "types" of demigods: those from the Greek Parthenon and those from the Roman Parthenon. (See God Lists for Greeks and Romans)
Centaur
Centaurs are an old race whose form is that of a human torso and head, a top of the body of a horse. They are known for being great healers, however, are known for being quite the indulgent drinkers and carousers. This leads them to be prone to violent tendencies and delinquent mannerisms when intoxicated. The majority of Centaurs are wild and lusty with the exception of a few (e.g. Chiron). The older generations of Centaurs were born from sun and raincloud (with the exception of Chiron who was born from Kronos and the nymph Philyra). Once female centaurs (Centaurides) came from normal horses, the race began to reproduce via the same means as normal creatures (conceived from baby to adult).

Cyclopes
A Cyclops (singular) is a one-eyed giant, considered ugly by most people. They are known for being not only big as well as their brute strength. Cyclopes are fearful foes to face in battle with superhuman hearing, capable of mimicking any voice they hear, enabling them to easily trick and lure their prey. They are immune to fire, resistant to many physical attacks and long living. Feared and avoided by most monsters, even when young, they are commonly abandoned by their parents to learn how to fend for themselves. Most live in cities, where they end up being treated as outcasts or mistakes of nature, lending to many turning out not as right as they are mean to be, turning them dangerous and violent, as they are generally forced to grow wild on the streets.
Cyclopes, are in the majority, children of Poseidon and a Nymph, making them half-brothers to demigod children of Poseidon.

Satyr
Satyrs are a race like centaurs who are "half man and half animal". For satyrs, their lower body (from the torso down) is that of the back of a goat. They also sport horns on their head. These horns can indicate a satyrs status and strength according to their size. They are also known and called Fauns due to the Roman God Faunus, this name is generally used by Romans. When in public, to avoid unwanted attention they wear fake feet and hats to hide their goat like characteristics as well as muffle the sound of their hoofs. These fake feet, tend to make Satyr's clumsy when they walk, giving off the illusion they aren't very capable.
Satyr's and Nymphs are nature spirits, born after Ouranos' blood spilt on fertile soil.
Members: Grover Underwood (NPC) - One of the most notable Satyr's and former companion of Percy Jackson. He inherited Pan's powers and Title as God of Nature.
Nymphs
Nymphs are female spirits of nature, often considered as very minor goddesses. Like Satyr's they were born from the blood of Ouranus. Being spirits of Nature they are often found in the presence of Gods and Goddesses connected to nature (e.g. Pan, Poseidon, Demeter etc). There are various types of nymphs depending on their "domain": fresh water nymphs known as Naids, sea nymphs etc. Known for their beauty, they are often chased by love sick Gods and Satyrs.

Merpeople
Merpeople are aquatic species that appear human except for their blue/green skin, and they have fish tails instead of feet. Their eyes are bright green and their teeth are like that of a sharks. They are children of Poseidon and residents of Atlantis. They are durable creatures, biologically capable of resisting the cold temperatures in the depth of the ocean. To ensure they can fight the common threats lurking in the waters, they too are heavily trained much like Demigods are.
