Remember this kid. In the world you are destined to die the day you were born. You're only chance for survival is to play it solo, and keep everyone else on your side. A voice rang out from the darkness. Not again. a figure thought. The darkness around them seemed hostile, until it was eradicated by a flash of light. The figure jolted up in their bed and felt their body on edge. God ******** damn it. they thought as they swung their legs over the bed. Placing their bare feet on the cold wood floor, the figure opened the door to their room, and walked to the kitchen of their apartment. Opening the fridge they saw the stove clock in the pitch black night. Three AM. Three hours to go. they muttered as they ate a light snack, consisting of an apple and orange juice. Sleep wasn't going to come back to them, so rather than lay in bed they walked into the shower and bathed quickly. Dressing in a pair of jeans and a shirt, they grabbed their laptop and began to browse the web. Skype lit up like the fourth of july as they checked the notifications. Two birthdays, three conversations, and four group conversations. An hour passes as they checked up on their social media before an email prompted their attention. Calling someone on skype the usual exchange of "you hear me" and "What's up" were done with. Can you tell me, why I just got an invitation to my own wedding. The voice on the other side went dead silent. Alright play it your way. I'll just dock your pay for this and next- Your father asked me to send them. He didn't tell me much. Just to send them out to the emails given and to move on with my life. Azura let out a deep sigh as they excused themselves and hung up the call. Grabbing shoes and a jacket, Azura left his apartment and walked into the dusk of a five AM morning.

Eight shots expresso, double cream, nine creams.Azura said as they reached for their wallet. Paying the shocked barista, Azura took a sip of his coffee. Feeling the warm smile on his face, he sat down near a window and waited. Ten minutes later someone sat down next to him. Please tell me this isn't true. a male asked. Dad arranged it. I'm in office today around nine. I'll get more info. she replied. To think he'd force someone to marry me. Wanna take a bet on who? Azura asked. Well since you are Gender fluid it could be anyone. If it's a Guy i swear to god I'll become your impersonator. I'll take your life if they're hot. the male replied. Calm down Isaac. I don't need the Dam of Isaac and sons burning down just yet. I'll get more information. He'll probably introduce us. Drag me to her house. Make me see her. God why didn't I just move to Sanyoko. No family. New company. It could have been mine... Azura groaned as they downed their death sentence coffee. Knock them dead. May as well add myself to that list.

As stated by May's sales report, Prices have risen to compensate with the cost of manufacturing. This however is not the most viable option. If we gaze at June's reports we see a steady increase in production and in employee wages but a decrease in costs. This seems abnormal by Mays standards unless... Azura explained. Taking a breathe they continued. the prices have begun to rise due to an external factor. Namely imcompetent board members. Azura waited for the insults to settle and slammed a pointer on the table. If you would like to spout mindless chatter please enter the manufacturing meetings, i am sure they need another drone to help them increase our costs. I have everyone's attention now? Good. Morales, Charles, Elizabeth you're fired. All you're emails have been retrieved and I've spent two weeks going over them. I know of the deal you had with our manufacturer. We've cut ties with them and are now employing their rival. You may collect your belongings as you leave. Meeting adjourned. Azura said as she grabbed her bag and walked out. Chatter continued as they fought among themselves. Play it solo. There's more to gain than to lose. Azura muttered as she sat in her office. Hearing her receptionist call her for a visitor she groaned. Send him up. Azura said as she took a sip of her second coffee. Seeing her father walk in, she waited for him to weasel his way out.

It's a marketing campaign. bullshit. We had one a week ago. Calendar's ready for the fourth not my faked wedding. Since the newspapers caught wind of you ******** another woman. We've decided t redirect attention. And there it is. You have my two weeks notice. It was nice working for you father. I think it's about time you leave now. You can't be serious. We had a deal father. I work for you, You stay away from my personal life. It was an easy system father. I fix your failing company I live separate from it. What do you have to make me go with this. The company is yours after the wedding.

James. Kill me. Hire a hit man and murder me. just drown me in a lake. Sho- Azura complained into their phone. What did he say. It's mine after the wedding. All of it. The money. The company. The debt. The shadows. All of it. Holy s**t. Did you agree? I didn't have a choice. I'm on the board now. I have higher status than dad until the wedding, then i am dad. Jesus ******** christ. Did you figure out who the dumb broad is? Unlike you i didnt get set up with some cheap dollar whore. That's cold. That's the ******** truth james. I don't know her yet. Dad's flown her in via helicopter. She doesn't have clothes til friday, so she'll be borrowing mine until then. Two days. Unless she has a carry on. Got to go. Dad's causing a scene again. Something about Hookers and Blow. Say hi to mom for me.

Azura hung up their phone as they saw the helicopter come into view. A frown formed on his face as his father began to panic and scream for joy at the same time. Pulling him aside, the side of his palm met his cheek. Calm down. It's just a marriage. Get a hold of yourself dad. The helicopter landed and Azura thanked god for blind spots. The rotor blades died down. The side door opened. Azura held the girl's hand and helped her down from the elevated seat. Helping the little one down as well, Azura held their internal screaming. He took a hold of his new "fiance's" hand and kissed it. I swear to god why did he bring the BLOODY PRESS!?! The flashing of camera's drowned out his speech but his lips said all he needed to say. Welcome to Rexford. It's a pleasure to meet you darling. Azura held the forced smile until his father motioned for them to head inside. Once int he door, he pulled the girl aside as his father helped the toddler down. Giving a bullshit excuse to talk with her, his father seemed happy with it. My name's Azura. Hou Yi. As-u-rah Ho. Yee. I'm sorry you had to get dragged into this. My father organized a small press conference. Play along and this will be over before we know it.

Azura let out the deepest sigh of relief when the press were escorted out. Another one left his lips as his personal security led his father away to his personal meetings. The left over security escorted them to a SUV where they were taken to his apartment. The toddler stuck with his father. Was toddler accurate? Who cares. The worst part was over. Sitting down on the couch, Azura undid his tie and looked at the girl. Looking at themself, Azura noticed a slight cleavage showing. Oh right. Forgot about that. he said.

Arianna had a rough night herself. Her father agreed to sign her up for an arranged marriage. A man whom she hasn't even met yet. It was three thirty in the morning and she was laying in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. What was she going to do? Could she say yes to a complete stranger? Would they even get along? Were things going to be awkward? Plenty of questions plagued her mind to the point where she just couldn't sleep. She had shifted out of her bed and was walking around her house quietly. She had an apartment with a friend of hers, which she knew it would be rough on her friend Angel once she left. She didn't want to just move out of the apartment and leave Angel to focus on the bills herself. Maybe she could work something out and continue to pay half of the rent and utilities and visit Angel as often as she could. She didn't know how busy her life would be when she got married. She heard plenty of rumors about the man she was expected to marry and she wasn't sure what to do or think about him. She was a simple nobody, or so she thought. Her father was a successful business man. Was that the reason she was being put into an arranged marriage? She was old enough to choose her own husband damnit!

Her rough night continued to go on, so she got a small glass of water and she headed back to her room. She dressed into something warmer. Once wrapping a scarf around her neck and putting on a jacket, she left the apartment with her keys in hand. She began to walk along the sidewalk, passing the street lamps that lit up the sidewalk. She looked around, breathing in the fresh air. Being out early in the morning always seemed to calm her nerves down. She walked around for a good hour and a half, not traveling too far from her apartment that way she could book it back to the apartment if needed. The female bit her lower lip as she was walking back to the apartment now, focusing on the ground. Still, the many questions bothered her. She just couldn't believe she was being forced into some arranged marriage with a stranger. She crossed her arms over her chest. The main question that just bothered her the most was would they get along. They could be complete opposites for all she knew. Arianna had no problem being blunt and stating her opinion. She may only stand at a height of five foot two, but she could have one hell of an attitude if need be. What if he were just as bad as her? What sort of arguments would come around. She shook her head and sighed. Maybe she should just play nice in front of the press... Since, the press were going to be involved in her personal life now.

When she got back to her apartment, she entered and took off her jacket, hanging it in the closet by the door and she headed to her room. She kicked off her shoes and put her scarf on the desk that sat in her room and she laid in the bed. She laid there for a little while longer before she finally managed to get some sleep. It was rough attempting to sleep but she finally seemed to get tired enough to fall asleep. Of course, the last thing she remembered was thinking and before she even knew it, sleep seemed to creep up on her and hit her hard. Not that she minded, she needed as much sleep as possible as she had quite the busy day coming that she wasn't looking forward to.

Finally, the female woke up when she was shook by Angel. She heard Angel speak but didn't quite hear her as she sounded a little fuzzy and Angel left the room. The smell of eggs and bacon lingered in the air as Arianna sat up. She rubbed her eyes and sighed softly. She turned, her legs dangling over the side of her bed and she sat there for a moment before she slid off the bed and joined her best friend in the kitchen. "Good morning sleepy head!" Angel let out happily as she pushed eggs onto two plates. "Did you sleep well?" Angel asked as she placed bacon and toast on the two plates and placed them on the table. Then there were two glasses of orange juice placed down. "Actually... No, I didn't sleep well at all. There are just so many questions bothering me." Arianna admitted as she pulled a chair out, offering for Angel to sit. Once her friend sat, Arianna pushed the chair in slightly and then she slid into the chair across from Angel. "Things are bothering you that much?" Angel asked as she stabbed eggs with her fork and began to eat. "Yes, of course! I mean... My father randomly calls me and tells me I am to be marrying some... Person." She let out a slight scoff. "It is rough on me you know. I mean, this is a complete stranger and I have to act like I know him and have known him for a while." Arianna frowned and began to eat. Angel nodded slowly, "At least you only have to do it in public, right? If you two don't get along... Just come hang out with me." Angel batted her eyes and gigged. Arianna smirked and nodded, "I can really consider doing that." She laughed herself.

A little while went by and she received a call from her father, he was telling her she was going to be picked up via helecopter and she groaned out. Out of all people to get married to, it also had to be a rich guy who was going to be getting a company... That or part of the company. Hell, she didn't know, she wasn't told all the details of her fiance. She was basically going in blind and it terrified her. The female went to her room and she got changed into a dress the was floor length and was a light pink color. It was strapless and she wore a white shawl overtop of it and wore flats so she was at least comfortable. She had to look decent and picture ready. She did her hair, curling it and pulling it back into a half pony tail, leaving out her bangs. She had natural beauty, so she didn't have to worry about make up. She left the room and showed Angel, "Good enough?" She let out and saw Angel's big smile. "Yes, absolutely adorable." Angel moved closer and tied a pink ribbon around Arianna's waist and it looked good with the dress, "Just for good luck..." Angel said with a soft smile and she hugged Arianna. "Don't forget about me girl." Angel whispered. Arianna laughed, "I couldn't." She hugged her friend back. When the hug broke, Angel moved over and grabbed a small bag, "A change of clothes are in here. Be safe." Angel said and walked Arianna to the door. Soon, Arianna was climbing into a car. It wasn't long before she arrived to her destination and then was being loaded into a helicopter.

Arianna was getting nervous the closer she was getting to meeting her fiance. She closed her eyes and rested against the back of the seat. She was just trying to calm her nerves. Soon, the helicopter was landing and she opened her eyes, taking off the headphones and handing them to the pilot of the helicopter and she thanked him. Her attention shifted to the door as it was opened and she forced a smile seeing Azura. She took his hand and climbed out of the helicopter, "Thank you." She let out. She watched the male kiss her hand and she nodded her head to him, keeping a beautiful smile on her face. 'Keep it up for the press.' She thought to herself. She had to act happy with him after all. It wouldn't look good for the cameras if she acted irrationally. That, and it really wouldn't be good for herself. She walked with Azura inside and soon she was pulled off to the side. She gasped slightly and shifted her attention to Azura when they were alone to speak and she eyed him. "Alright Azura. My name is Arianna Lee Hitoraski. Just so we are a little more acquainted for press purposes if need be." She let out. She smoothed down her dress and nodded, "I will play along for the time we are in front of press, no worries." She let out. Strictly business, that's all this was. This wasn't for pleasure, this was for business.

The female didn't mind honestly, maybe their marriage wouldn't last long and they would divorce and she would be free to do as she pleases and be with someone that she would love. She didn't like the fact she was forced to be with Azura but she would deal with it for the time being. She walked with everyone as they were escorted to the SUV. They were driven to Azura's apartment. She carried her small bag inside and looked around the apartment, seeing Azura sit on the couch and undid his tie. She didn't notice the cleavage honestly, she wasn't looking. She gripped onto the bag she had. She only had a change of clothes but she would make it work. "I... Am going to change out of this..." She let out as she shifted her attention away from her surroundings and looked at Azura. "Is there a preferred room I will be using or do I have to share with you?" She let out. If she had to share, she would just occupy the couch. She really didn't care.

Azura looked at Arianna as she spoke. Guess that would help wouldn't it. Azura said as they rose to their feet. Looking down at Arianna, they saw just how tall they were, six foot one compared to her small stature really did make things awkward. They walked into the hallway and tapped the top of a door frame until a key fell down. Unlocking the door with said key, Azura turned on the lights and showed Arianna the room. Clothes should be in the drawers. If there isn't let me know and i'll have one of my assistants take you out for some clothes. I won't subjugate you to sleeping in my room. Here are some ground rules we should establish. Be home before Midnight and thing's will be a lot better. Trust me, security here is worse than Guantanamo Bay. I usually order Take out since i don't get home til late, or early depending on your definition, but The fridge is usually filed with food by said assistants. There's a bathroom in the hallway or in this room if you'd prefer, just let me know so we don't end up in the same bathroom without any clothes. Someone will give you a key to the apartment tomorrow and then you have free reign. Azura said as they examined the drawers. They were clean and filled like she left them. Opening the closet revealed a bookshelf with some books and jackets and clothes on hangers. Besides that i doubt you'll see much of me. Seeing as my father bribed me into taking the company, I'll be up to my neck in fixing the steaming pile of s**t.

Azura patted Arianna on the shoulder as she passed her. They should fit you. I use to wear them a long, long time ago. Azura explained as she walked outside the room and into her own. Hearing her stomach scream in response, Azura poked her head into Arianna's room. I don't know if you're hungry but given the trip and the time of day, want to go out for some food? Azura asked. Hearing the girl's stomach growl to the mention of food, she let out a small chuckle. Great minds think alike.

It didn't take much. A wad of bills for the guards to act like they didn't exist. A small reinforcement about cellphone trackers and they were off. Azura turned the key to their Nissan GTR and the engine came to life. The drive around town wasn't so bad, it was mostly an explanation of the town itself, how an old millionaire's dying wish was to help out the community. Hou Yi came from the folklore of "The defender of earth, the moon's bride" Hou Yi and how the family had taken the name after starting a humane company. Dad's had a lot of b*****d children. My half brother James, My step sister Olivia, and my step step brother Zakhary. They were all born out of wedlocke, their parents weren't married. My mother divorced my father, and since I was the only child born from the marriage, I was taught how the company works. Azura explained as they kept an eye out on the town. Fast food was nice and all, but the food tasted like grease after one point or another. Seeing a family run restaurant, they turned into the parking lot and got out. Hurrying over to the other side, Azura opened the door for his fiance. Outstretching his hand, they pulled her gently out of the car and walked inside the store with them. The place had a nice mood to it, low lights, beautiful tables, and five star customer service. Pulling the waiter aside, a small discussion ensued before the manager came out. Sorry to intrude, but i'm with Hou Yi- The manager quickly shook Azura's hand before going on a tangent about how honored they were to service them. Please, Please I'm just the heir to the company there's nothing to it. What I wanted to ask-

Azura finished the five minute discussion and walked with the Waiter and Arianna to the upstairs seating. Pulling her chair, Azura took the menus from the waiter and handed her one. Sorry about that. If i didn't strike the conversation up i would have forgotten. they said before opening the menu. The waiter came by with a bottle of wine and Azura shook their head. No thank you. they said before the glasses were poured. A gift from the owner. The waiter mentioned before leaving the bottle there. Azura smiled slightly as he took one sip of the wine to be polite. The waiter came back and asked them for their orders and left to tell the chef to cook.

Azura placed his fork and knife on the plate as they took one last sip of wine. Dialing a number they quickly made arrangements for someone to come pick them up and drive them back. Sorry if tonight's been strange for you. It's not often I get forcibly engaged to someone. let alone someone so beautiful. I can see something's troubling you. Do you want to talk about it? I know it's not about the marriage as the look on your face seems like someone recalling the past with pain, like a favor left undone, or a unfulfilled promise? Azura mentioned seeing her think about Angel. If it's a debt or something about a friend left behind, With your permission, I can have the debt cleared, or the friend moved here or have enough money to live off of. The company can handle it im sure. I've been doing the checkbooks for years now. Azura collected the bill and paid with cash.

Azura stood up from their seat as the driver came to pick them up. Do let me help you Arianna, I don't want us to be hating each other for the next.... Azura said. They paused for a moment as they did countless calculations and scenarios in their head before coming out with a number. Five years. Give or take. Dad want's his scandal to die quickly. So he'll push for a Christmas photo op, a birthday op and then the wedding two years from now. Give two years for faked divorce due to a lack of sex and this dies down with no one remembering his mistake. Azura said nonchalantly. They took serious effort into calculating expected outcomes and came to this conclusion. That is if we fake it for the camera. The numbers vary on your input.

Azura entered the apartment and collapsed on the couch. A short lecture about security later and the guards had left except for the night shift. Changing into some jeans and a loose shirt, Azura wished Arianna a good night and left the door to their room open as they drifted off to sleep.

For the first time in years, Azura slept til his alarm woke him up at eight AM. Checking his phone, the male noticed a miss call from Isaac and James, with a few skype and text messages. Huh that's new.

Arianna nodded, "Very much so." She let out as she watched Azura. God, Azura was almost a foot taller than her, "Don't mind how short I am. Being tall wasn't something that seemed to run on my mother's side of the family." She said. She walked after Azura as he lead her down the hallway and she watched Azura tap the top of the door frame and saw a key fall, interesting. She looked at the room and smiled softly, "Thank you for allowing me to use any clothing in here. I do appreciate it." She let out. Alright, she would admit it to herself, maybe Azura wasn't as bad as she was expecting. The female pushed bangs out of her eyes and she bit her lower lip as she placed the small bag down onto the bed. She listened to the rules as Azura ranted them off and she nodded, "Alright. I am sure I can follow those rules, they are pretty simple." She let out, "Although I do have issues sleeping at times and I liked going out for walks... But I am sure I can find other things to do if I won't be able to get out easily." She shrugged her shoulders and looked around the room. "I am also fine occupying any room. As long as I have a place to sleep, I could care less what the room is or whom it belongs to." She smiled weakly at Azura. She reached up and pulled her hair down. She shook her head and huffed out when her locks fell into their original place. Although, she had some curls now from her previous hairstyle. She cleared her throat and nodded slowly. "So... Not only am I being forced into some engagement, but I am not going to see my 'fiance' very often... Got it." She whispered to herself not speaking to anyone in particular.

Arianna felt the pat on her shoulder and she nodded, watching Azura leave the room. She closed the door to the bedroom and she changed out of her dress and got into something a little more comfortable for her to wear around the house. She placed her dress on the foot of her bed and she sat down on the edge of the bed. She pulled her cell phone out of her bag and checked a message she had from Angel. She smiled gently, she received the message earlier, but her cell phone had no signal where she was now. She sighed softly and then soon she shifted her attention to Azura who poked his head in. She blinked, "Oh, um... Yeah, I am a little hungry." She said, although her stomach growled loudly and she blushed slightly and cleared her throat, "Alright. Maybe more than just a little hungry." She let out a soft giggle. Yeah, great minds could think alike. Arianna shifted off of her bed and made her way out of the bedroom towards Azura.

Arianna sat in the vehicle quietly, her attention focused out of the window. She didn't really care for too much conversation at the moment. Things were just awkward. She had to be forced into this engagement and even found out that she might not see much of Azura to begin with. Them getting to know one another wasn't really going to happen it seems. She hoped their marraige wouldn't last very long so they could get divorced and just go about and do their own thing. She heard Azura begin to speak and she looked over at Azura and listened quietly. She bit her lower lip as Azura spoke, she didn't wish to speak and interrupt. Although she smiled gently. "I see." She let out softly. She wasn't sure what to say honestly, she really didn't have a life that way. She was raised with her mother and father being married. Her mother died from cancer and her father was a business man she hard saw as she grew up. She was practically raised by her grandmother and grandfather. Arianna bit her lower lip and glanced back out the window. "At least your father has someone to fall back on to make the business a success." She let out and smiled. She was looking at the positive side of things. Soon, the car was stopped and she was helped out of the car, "Thank you." She let out with a smile. She walked inside with Azura and she took in a deep breath, it smelled amazing. She pushed hair behind her ear and she watched the two as they spoke. After a while, she just focused on other things as they spoke for a good little bit.

Arianna forced a smile back onto her face as they were directed to the upstairs seating and she took a seat. She looked at the menu and shook her head, "No, don't apologize please. I understand. You mean business, it is something I will have to grow fond of." She let out as she eyed the menu. When the waiter came with wine and poured glasses. She smiled gently and tucked hair behind her ear as it was just getting in the way. When the waiter came back around for their orders, she said what she wanted. The dinner was nice honestly, even spending a little time with her fiance was nice. She wasn't sure how often she would see Azura around, so she might as well take in all the time that she could get right now. She grabbed her glass and tried the wine as she took a sip, which was really delicious.

Arianna watched as he dialed a number but she brushed it off as she took the last bite of her food and finished off her wine. Her eyes shifted to Azura and smiled softly, "It is fine. It isn't everyday someone as ordinary as myself is placed into an arranged marriage. I was surprised it was me honestly." She let out a light giggle and bit her lower lip. "I was sharing an apartment with my best friend, Angel. I feel a little bad for leaving her to take care of the apartment bills on her own. I was paying half of the rent and utilities." She let out. "Plus, the marriage deal does bother me a little as well. I am expected to marry a complete stranger, one who I probably won't see much at all because you have business to focus on. It is just a little upsetting." She admitted. She figured she might as well be honest if they were to be married. She was sure he would understand. She watched him as he collected the bill and paid for it.

Arianna was about to get up and she frowned sotly when Azura offered to help her. She kept quiet as Azura was calculating and was mentioning them being together for five years or so. She swallowed hard, "F-Five years?" She let out softly. That was even more depressing, it was absolutely upsetting. She would despise her father for getting her into this horrible forced marriage deal. She shook her head and she sighed, she wanted to make a smart remark about what he said about his father, but she just nodded silently. She had to play nice for the time being. "We will fake it for the camera, don't worry." She said with a weak smile. She made her way to the car as they were finished eating and were ready to go home. She was silent during the drive, as many things were just plaguing her mind, yet again.

Arianna entered the apartment with Azura. She lingered around long enough for the short lecture about the security and soon they were wishing one another a good night. Arianna entered the room she had and closed the door and eventually fell asleep. Morning rolled around and the female woke. She stopped by the bathroom and washed her face before making her way to the kitchen and she began to cook some eggs for breakfast for both her and Azura.

Azura groaned as they replied to all of their skype messages. Waking up late really threw off their plans. Checking their Email they saw a distinct lack of meetings planned. Calling James they asked what happened or why was nothing planned. To be honest, Dad's insisting he do it. James replied. You tell that fat b*****d To lay off. i'll be in in about an hour. That shou- Azura replied. No you don't get it. He's literally doing everything. Meetings, deals, hell even meeting new companies. I don't know how, but he knows about Paris. He just blackmailed Chel into the deal, with lower pay for her. James said. Azura paused for a moment before they said goodbye to James. Five seconds later the phone was thrown against the wall until the screen cracked, until the metal frame was nothing more than a frame. Azura knelt down until he was peering into the insides of his phone. Well hello there you little b*****d. Azura said as he picked up a small micro-chip. Seeing the label on it, Azura laughed. Not the laugh of a child in joy, but of an evil man one step away from claiming the world as his. This is how we're going to play, father? So be it. You know better than to play chess against me, or against James for that matter. King to C5. Checkmate.

How can the king be expected to lead if he doesn't move himself? Doesn't immerse himself in the hell his troops face. In this world, our fates our decided. It's up to the player to think of a new strategy to win the fixed game. Azura said to himself as the hot water started to burn his back. Stepping out, they changed into a pair of jeans, a burgundy shirt with a gray plus on the right side. Seeing Arianna cooking, he sat down and thanked her for the meal. Digging in, he smiled. It was better than any he made. Azura sighed as he reached for his phone, which was currently broken on his bedroom floor. That's what I get for acting without a plan. Naive but efficient. he muttered as he reached for his laptop. He only needed a few things to begin the next game of chess. He may have had to lose the first game, but he would be damned if he lost again. He tried his best to keep his fiance out of this. The less she knows, the better her odds for leaving me. he reasoned. Plugging in a flashdrive, he copied the files he needed before slipping it into his pocket. Changing into a suit, Azura waved goodbye to Arianna and said he'd be back sooner that expected today. If all well accordingly, he'd be home for dinner, or to take her out to dinner.

Azura stopped at a coffee shop and ordered his six shots of expresso, double cream, and Cinnamon. The Bartista eyes him as if he was crazy but he paid in cash. Downing the beverage, he tossed the cup in a trashcan before Isaac came to talk to him. Knight's going to take Bishop.B3 he said to Isaac. Wait what? Knight Taking bishop? at b3? What kind of game are you playing? isaac replied. One where one party knows the other cheated. One where the player has nothing to lose by making obviously horrible plays. All Knight needs to do is out Bishop. Then the King has nothing left to protect him. Queen's been captured, the rooks are dead, the knights have turned, and the bishops are outed. Nothing can save him. This time, I win. Azura explained. And if it fails? Isaac inquired. I lose everything. I take the fall. Queen can turn, and my ranks are wiped in an instant. This is the game I've been forced to play. Ironic actually.Azura replied as he turned around. Why are you playing then? Makes more sense not to play? What's life without some conflict Isaac? What's life without a little surprise to make you struggle for what is yours.

Azura walked into the office and felt the cold chill behind him. He had to set the pace, the tone, the mood. Walking with murder in his eyes, he entered an office. Everyone who wants to keep their jobs leave! That includes you too James. Azura ordered. The staff left. They had only seen this once before, when he had forced his father to accept the divorce between him and his mother. Soujiro, Soujiro. You really like to screw the ******** pooch don't you? Hookers. Blow. Fraud. That's right I know everything now. I'm tired of playing your game. So you want to play a game of betrayal and trust? Then let's play. Azura said as he pulled up a new phone from his coat. You bugged me. You used me as bait. You think I don't have the balls to out you to my Father? You think you can control him? You think I can't make your life a living hell? Watch me.

Azura smiled as the world around him suddenly exploded around him. Phones, Laptops, television, pagers. Everything began to scream for attention. Pack you s**t. You're fired. Nothing you can say will weasel you're way out of this. The police are waiting for you. Enjoy you're life on the run. I'm sure if the police don't get you, the hitmen will. Azura taunted. Seeing Soujiro charge him, Azura ducked the obvious clothesline tactic, and drew a baton from his coat. Extending it, he slammed two blows into Soujiro's knee and foot, breaking his knee and spraining his foot. I'm afraid I can't let you live now. You've become a liability. You know what we do with liabilities?

Azura spent no time as he grabbed a rope from the janitor's closet and tied Soujiro up. The staff had left the office after the emails came in. Soujiro had nothing to his name. They had been fired. They had nothing to show for it. James led everyone out as he knew what was happening. He'd seen the dead bodies. Azura pushed Soujiro up the stairs until they reached the top floor. Goodbye Soujiro. Say hello to Dahlia for me! he said before he kicked him off the building's roof. Keep everyone on your side. Everyone's out to kill you. Kill them first. a voice said in Azura's head. Knight executes Bishop. Check. he said before exiting the building out the back. He had the tapes. He wiped them clean. He was the Phantom in more ways than one. Father? It's Azura. Soujiro's dead. He sent me an email earlier today. I think we need to talk. ASAP. Azura said leaving a message on his father's phone.

Azura walked amongst the people. You did what you had to. a voice told him. I killed a traitor. Mother would be proud. another voice screamed. You did it for you and Arianna! another shrieked. Azura stopped walking and looked up. Soujiro's death was being broadcasted over the new channels. The building had a few blind spots and for the most part, they were blaming the mob, not someone at the company. People kept moving, and he followed suit. All his ranks are demolished. All of mine are demolished. King takes King. Check mate.

Entering the apartment, Azura started the fireplace and tossed their clothes inside. Changing into regular clothes, Azura laid down on the couch. Arianna was gone. Out shopping probably. calling a number, he gave his credentials.Hello? Aw Hi Wasp. I'm looking for a woman named Angel. Pays rent for an apartment but had a roommate. Roommate is not deceased. Find her and give her the usual deceased family member package. Take it from my Funds. Roommate's name? Arianna Lee Hitoraski. King takes King.

Azura grabbed a blanket as they waited for Arianna to come back. Hearing her say something about angel, he faked a surprise. Playing along he tensed up at the mention of a suicide. The night was almost over. Ordering some takeout, Azura smiled to see James bring it. King takes King.

Azura sat down next to Arianna as they ate their takeout, and Azura made the first move by wrapping the blanket around their feet. The real question is, will he fall in love with her? a voice said. Are you kidding me? Azura doesn't have a heart! just look at today! another replied. Azura shook his head as he heard voice that didnt exist. He began to shake violently until he closed his eyes and took a deep breathe. Waving it off, Azura felt a sliver of guilt as he saw the news continue to investigate soujiro's death. Dad's gonna flip. He explained. Feeling a bit colder and miserable, Azura wrapped his arms around Arianna. Like a child holding on to their mother for consolation. I-I just need this. Please. It's rough seeing someone you knew just murdered like that.

The female hummed to herself as she cooked. She was making eggs and bacon as she quietly sang to herself. Today, if Azura were going to be busy, she would probably visit Angel and see how she were doing. She missed being with her best friend, it was depressing and lonely not having her around already. Arianna knew she would have to deal with it, but she would get over it. She bit her lower lip as her attention was focused on her eggs. This was not going to be the easiest marriage to do. To have to stand up in front of people and say yes to someone she might not know that great. Hopefully, fingers crossed, she would get to know Azura some more before their wedding day. Arianna shook her head. No, maybe that was her getting her hopes up. She knew it wouldn't be that easy. She was pretty sure Azura would have better things to do than to get to know her. She scoffed at the thought and began to separate the eggs an bacon on two plates then she poured coffee into two coffee mugs and placed the plates and mugs on the table. She grabbed forks and placed them next to the plates.

Arianna looked up and smiled when Azura joined her at the table, "Good morning." She let out and she sat down at the table and she began to eat with him. She noticed he didn't look in the best of moods but she didn't say anything. She exhaled softly and pushed hair out of her face and then she looked down at her breakfast. She figured she just shouldn't talk to Azura about what was going on. The female straightened her posture and continued to eat her eggs and bacon. She watched the male finish up his breakfast and he left to go change his outfit. She finished her breakfast and she took the dirty dishes to the sink and then she began to hand wash the dishes. She frowned softly as she did so and she glanced back to see Azura wave to her, "Have a good day.." She let out to Azura and she looked back down at her dishes. Yeah, she would see if he would be back later today.

Once she finished her dishes, she made her way to the bathroom and she showered. She brushed her hair when she was done and made her way to the room she was staying in and she changed into some comfortable clothing. She put on tennis shoes and made her way to the kitchen. She looked through things and wrote down a list of groceries to get for breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals that she would need and she left. She was driven to Angel's apartment and hung out with her best friend for a little while. She figured it would be best for her to spend time with someone who understood her situation and would be able to keep her calm. Arianna knew this marriage deal wouldn't be easy, but she just moved in with him and already she feels lonely. Hell, if she hung around the house, she would have nobody to spend any time with honestly. She would just have to figure out something to do around the house to keep herself occupied.

Arianna and Angel were out eating lunch at a restaurant and Arianna gave her menu to the waitress after ordering. "You know, this whole marriage deal is not going to be easy on me. It doesn't help I am not sure I will even get to see Azura so much... It has been business that Azura seems more interested in." She admitted and shrugged. Angel let out a slight hum after taking a sip of her drink, "I see. Things are not going to be easy. I will be here for you every step of the way as long as you don't forget about me." She smiled at Arianna. "I couldn't forget about you. You're my best friend!" Arianna laughed slightly and she pushed hair behind her ear. "I knew things wouldn't be easy, but I am going to be alone more often than I thought." She shrugged her shoulders as she slid her finger around the rim of her glass. "I might get you to come over more often to the point you'd be practically living with me." Arianna smiled at Angel. "Sure, I wouldn't mind that. I would get to meet your new fiance on top of it all." Angel said with a wink. "Is he cute at least?" Arianna rolled her eyes at her friend, "Oh gosh. Yes, if you must know, he is cute." She let out and their meals were placed in front of them.

"Things can't be that bad. You'll get privacy and don't have to deal with him that often. As miserable as you sound being there, you'll be fine. Just find stuff to keep yourself busy. Bake. You like to bake. Bake and cook." Angel laughed. "I remember when we would get into awful fights and I would leave.. Then I would come home to you having like four cakes made, cookies, cupcakes. Anything to keep your mind off of it. Besides. A man loves a woman that can cook, bake, and clean. Just do something to keep yourself busy." She smiled and reached over, gently patting Arianna's hand. "Thank you." Arianna let out. "You have a point." She sighed softly and began to eat with Angel.

Once they finished eating, Arianna got Angel back to her apartment before the friends said their goodbyes and soon Arianna was going to the grocery store. She looked at her list and used it as a reference as she walked down the many lanes of the store and pulling what she needed down and into the cart. Baking. That is exactly what she was going to do. Arianna got breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals along with the variety of things she would need to bake whatever she wanted for at least the next week or two. She was out practically all day with her best friend and finished off with the shopping. Soon, she was on her way back to the home when she got a call from Angel. Angel mentioned something about getting money or something, she couldn't really hear as the call was cutting in and out. When she got into the apartment, she carried the bags to the kitchen and unloaded things into cabinets to keep it organized so she knew where things were. She moved towards the doorway of the kitchen and mentioned something about Angel. That and while she was out she heard something about a suicide or something.

She made her way to the bedroom and changed her outfit into some pajamas and then made her way to the couch. She sat with Azura after they got their takeout and she ate with him. Maybe spending time with the male wasn't as bad as she thought. She smiled and thanked him when he wrapped the blanket around them and she watched the television. She noticed the male began to shake and it sort of made her jump. Almost, as though he knew what he were doing, he stopped. She blinked and then she sort of tensed up when she felt arms slip around her and hold onto her. She frowned and held onto him back. "I.. I am sorry for your loss." She whispered as she held onto him. She knew the death of someone you know was never easy.
