CAMPER FORM
Name: Nikita Chandra
Alias: Niki
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Powers: Scrying
Aura: main, #3B003B, secondary, #991F00, low frequency
Appearance: For an 11-year-old, Nikita stands at a somewhat short 4'3", but makes up for it with her energy. She has a typical, lean body type and seems particularly adept with running and other leg-based activities. Her thick hair is easily messed up, and rather than spend time to comb out all the tangles she tends to wear bandanas or hats to cover it up. Her face is round and her warm eyes are wide, always bright and curious. Her gaze is constantly moving, for better or worse.
Fashion-wise, Nikita tends to go for simple and comfortable. She doesn't layer much and seems to avoid clothes with heavy designs or patterns.
Personality: A bundle of energy that never seems to tire, Nikita seems to be fueled by her curiosity and desire to learn. While she loves reading books, she can also be easily distracted by things and prefers to move her body, which makes sitting down and reading rather difficult. If there is an audiobook alternative, Nikita prefers to listen while she does other things. In fact, she appears to learn best when she is able to move, imitate, and discover for herself how exactly something works.
She is constantly fascinated by the world. Colors, sights, and sounds can often overwhelm her, but Nikita rarely pays attention to this. She is far too enamored in the beauty and mysteries held on this planet, and because there is so much of it that she has to see, she can often get distracted by the slightest movement or sound. If even so much as a butterfly passes through her peripheral, she can easily drop her work and follow the insect. If she really puts her mind to it she can concentrate, but more often than not it’ll be difficult to keep her attention.
As someone who sees constant beauty and wonders, it’s difficult to get Nikita down. She is more of an optimist than anything else, and can easily infect her happiness and positive viewpoints to others. This can be especially true when she speaks in a tone surprisingly older than she looks, because even though she is still quite young, there are times when she can look deep inside herself and find wisdom unbecoming of a child like herself. Regardless, she is still a child at heart and loves to be outdoors, climbing trees and collecting bugs.
History: Nikita was born to a rather large family of six daughters. She was born as the youngest daughter, and also arguably the most energetic and problematic. Her tendency to follow whatever interested her made it difficult to keep track of her as a toddler, so it was her sisters' jobs to make sure that she would mostly stay out of trouble. With five older sisters, this was easy in that they could take turns, especially when a task such as this often required constant attention. At least, they did not have to worry about Nikita as much when they attended school, as she was often immersed by the decorations in the classroom and whatever they happened to be learning in the curriculum. In fact, she was so immersed that she managed to skip a grade. If it was knowledge and wisdom, Nikita seemed to have it in spades, but she never knew how to properly apply it to herself, especially because she loved the outdoors and adventure.
She would often go on camping trips with her father and the eldest sister, Sruthi. While the rest of her sisters would stay at home with mother, she was busy living in the wilds and trying to track down animals or picking herbs and berries to bring home for dinner. It was these constant camping trips that allowed Nikita to grow especially close with their father and Sruthi, especially because as the oldest she likely felt it imperative to look after Nikita as often as possible. (Of course, that is not to say she doesn't love her mother and other sisters, because Nikita finds all of her siblings to be charming in their own ways, and her mother, despite all her flaws, is always brimming with love for all of her children.)
It was their closeness, perhaps, that made Sruthi realize that not just her, but that her sister was also gifted. While Nikita’s gift did not manifest in the same way as hers, after encountering the bear and two dogs in the woods, she discovered that both of them had psychic abilities. It seemed to make sense, somehow, just why Nikita seemed to have bursts of startling wisdom and calmness that was unbefitting of a young, excitable child as herself. How could she have realized that the bears initially meant no harm? The child was tapping into something. With this in mind, Sruthi attempted to do research on what to do, but eventually enlisted the aid of her open-minded father. Meanwhile, the rest of the family'ss reactions ranged from amazement (Vani) to jealousy (the twins) to worry (their mother and Tanya). Eventually, they managed to chance upon the academy and the two sisters enrolled together (after, of course, the family double checked and perhaps even triple checked the rest of the sisters for any other potential psychics, but considering the lack of family history in that department, it came as no surprise that it was just Sruthi and Nikita who would be transferring.)
SIBLINGS:
Tanya, oldest, 18-19, math prodigy, quiet/ambitious/charismatic. Will often butt heads with Nikita because she doesn't want a third parent bossing her around.
Priyanka/Aditi, "third" (twins), 15. creative (Priya - art, Aditi - music) Excitable and gets along well with Nikita, but she often feels like the third wheel and her relationship with the twins works much like an oscillating wave.
Vani, fourth, 14, imaginative, clingy, and a smidge indecisive. Nikita tries to play with her often, with mixed results.
