Likes: Nature, helping people, studying (but only some books), art

Dislikes: Watching people suffer, the idea of seeing her sister again, being unprepared or clueless about something

Attitude: Calm, Watchful, Not easily impressed, at times nurturing

Personality: She has an outwardly bland personality, and doesn't smile very often, however she genuinely cares about people and helping them. She is calm and patient, but also relentless and purposeful in everything she's does, there is often speculation on whether she has a funny bone in her body or not. Her eyes are often the most expressive part about her. Often brightening when angry or annoyed, or dimming and becoming warm when happy or content. She just seems to be able to look through people. Probably because there isn't much she hasn't done or been through in her position in life. She can often be found with her face in a book, despite how boring some of them are because she still regrets not being properly learned. Since she didn't attend an actual school when she was younger, she learns all she can by reading. While she is quite intelligent, it is mostly because she is sharp and intuitive toward people, and has a great memory which helps with her reading and allowing her to be a quick learner.

Bio: Being the middle child of three children had its ups and its downs. Aureole's parents were a little better at taking care of her than her older sister, but they were still learning so of course they made mistakes. Also being the middle child often meant being the voice of reason in arguments with her older and younger sister.
As Branch Leaders of the largest and main branch of Forest Mages, her parents often brought them along to meetings so that they could watch over everyone if anything bad ever happened to them. However, because Aureole's sister, Maven, was the oldest by seven years, her parents spent the most time teaching and educating her than her sisters. Often keeping Maven in the study for long hours with them while Aureole and her younger sister Lucian, were left to fend for themselves. During this time, Aureole and her sister often played with the warriors of their branch, learning skills and spells, as well as play fighting. After a period of time Aureole became more adept at combat than either of her two sisters.

When Aureole was eleven; her parents died in an accident while meeting with another branch head. This sparked a major conflict between the two branches of mages. This occurrence dropped Maven, the oldest and most learned of the sisters at the helm to be crowned leader and deal with the constantly escalating situation. However, it seemed that no matter how hard she tried to ease the tension. The problem grew until it was too much for her in a matter of months. Waiting for night, Maven made her escape into the world. Maven made the choice of abandoning her sisters and her people. Aureole was now expected to lead her people and carry the brand of leadership, however, she was nowhere near as learned and politically versed as her older sister was, and having to learn and make decisions that affected so many people on the fly was emotionally and mentally wearing.

Aureole often fell into depressions that she hid faithfully from her younger sister, and had bouts of low self-esteem when she heard others compare her to her escapee sister. She was unprepared for leading, and that was like blood in the water for her subjects. Unable to take control of the ambassadors of her court because of her young age and lack of knowledge, the first 'shot' was fired by one of her father’s oldest friend, who had the position of High Ambassador. He had his men capture and publicly execute the rival branches youngest daughter as retribution for the deaths of the late Branch Leaders. Seeing what the High Ambassador did as a command from Aureole herself, the flames of war sparked in an instant. At this point there were no more attempts at peace and understanding. Aureole's riled subject made preparations and plans for war under the High Ambassador.

Often Aureole and the High Ambassador clashed with threats and arguments over how things should be done, only for Aureole to find herself the odd one out. It was as though her own court was turning on her. Realizing what was happening, she grabbed the few members and friends she trusted that had cared for her and her sisters since they were born, and sent them to an undisclosed location for safety matters. Staying behind herself to try and salvage what was left of her home. It didn't take Aureole long after her first realization that everything was premeditated; it was just a matter of putting the pieces together. The ambassadors had long been trying to usurp the tradition of power through birthright, and expand into the other, smaller branches.

Waiting in hiding a day after her sister "suddenly disappeared", she moved to confront the council. Making her claims, she was horribly surprised when they didn't deny it, but instead said it was the will of the people. It wasn't just the court going against her family; it was the people that she watched over as well. Feeling the sting of a betrayal far larger than she had first realized, she tried to escape but was cut off by some of the ambassadors’ guards who had been waiting to ambush her. Fighting them off as best she could, she was barely able to get away, running into the town where she found herself in an even bigger situation. She looked around to find her people dirty and high on war. Red paint on their faces that looked like blood, and a disgusting serene and calm, a happiness, that shouldn't be there in times of war. They loved the situation, reveled in the ability to show off their strength as the main branch. Thinking she let this happen to her people she became visibly sick. She thought that this was all her fault, that she had let it get this bad. That if she was just more competent she could have seen this all and stopped it from happening. As she thought this, she felt a sharp stab of pain and then numbness on her right side. Looking down to find that she had been nearly bisected by a spear, she got sick once again on the side of the village walkway, but this time it was mixed with blood, and was pulled into custody and dragged away, her wounded side hanging open for infection and leaving a trail of blood down the path she was pulled. She was thrown in an old, almost abandoned jail cell in the lowest section of their prison to rot and die from her injuries and blood loss. However, Aureole was able to sterilize and close her outward wound before she lost too much blood using some healing techniques that she had learned from Maven, as well as a few old dried herbs from long forgotten meals that were never cleaned up.

She spent weeks in there without any company attempting to fully heal before she escaped. She knew what she had to do, though it pained her. Just the thought of having the make this decision was torture. She was scared that she would be wrong in this, like with so many of her other decisions. But her eyes didn't deceive her when she looked upon her people. Just how rotted they had become with their privilege as main branch. Finally breaking free from her cell by working away at a loose bar, she surfaced to find her people pulling a death row concession through the walkways, with people from the rival branch, their Branch Leader and his wife in the front. Enraged, and seeing this as the last opportunity she had to stop this senselessness, she began the massacre. Using her abilities she learned from some of the very same warriors that had hunted her down, she began massacring her people. Starting with the ambassadors and soldiers, who weren't expecting her to be still alive. She took out anyone in power, and in the commotion, freed as many of the rival branch members as possible to help her with the purge. She didn't want there to be anymore uprisings in power or hostile takeovers, so she removed the very essence of life from those most fanatical and listened to in the community, while many were scattered to the wind to try and find refuge from the death and destruction Aureole was bringing down upon her former subjects.

When she was as satisfied as she could be with the destruction of her people and home, she took the children that were left behind and had them stay with the rival branch head while she explained the situation and apologized as much as she could for the horrors her inabilities caused for all of them. When asked what she was going to do, she drew up a blank, but it wasn't the first time she didn't know what to do. She just knew she had to figure it out. However, she said that she was going to be watching them, just like all the other branches. She refused to allow something like what happened with her branch to happen again. Leaving the rival branch and their leaders to go on their way Aureole thought about visiting her sister. However when she walked back through the bloody and barred town, she noticed her reflection in a broken mirror. Her hair was awry and matted with dried and slightly fresher blood. Blood stained her hands and her clothes, which were ragged and barely clung to her malnourished and thin body. On her side, she saw for the first time the blackened puckered skin of the scar where she had been cut open. Her eyes were tired and lined red with strain. She couldn't believe that this was her. She looked just like her people had.

She looked wrong, ugly, twisted up. She couldn't bring herself to face her sister while she was like this. Hastily she cleaned up, but she never felt truly clean, and grabbed whatever was left of the money that the village had before fleeing, just like her older sister Maven had done, into the human world. There she wrote a letter, explaining what happened but omitting her fall from grace to the people watching over her sister. She made sure that they educated Lucian well and taught her much in her parents’ teachings, before breaking off contact from them at the age of fourteen.

She spent three years wandering around until the age of seventeen, her past haunting her at almost every turn in her life. She completed odd jobs and met new people, but at night she had nightmares about what she had done and what she could or should have done. Thoughts of death, hers and the ones of others weaved their way in and out of her mind; she couldn't even look at herself in the mirror. She thought about tracking down her oldest sister Maven, but then thought better of it. If she left, it was doubtful she wanted to see a reminder of her past after she spent so many years free from her obligations.

It wasn't long before Aureole's emotional distress started affecting her work. It was at this point that the owner or a small cafe that Aureole was working for gave her a business card to a counselor that lived nearby. She was told that she should give her a call to help her with her problems. It just seemed as though she was wasting away more each day. While at first reluctant to do so, after another bout of dreams, she reluctantly used the phone at the cafe to call and set up an appointment. That was her first step to forgiving herself, or at least trying to. She spent many days spending time with her elderly counselor who would just pull information out of her (albeit slightly changed with to keep her kind safe), who would talk to her with respect when she deserved it, and egged her on when she started to vent, to lift that weight off her chest. It wasn't long before Aureole's spirit started clearing up and her work performance became better. She became so close to the counselor that she even confided in her that she wasn't human. She was pleasantly surprised that the counselor already had a guess, since whenever Aureole vented, the potted plants in her room would grow and then wither. After a few more days of counseling, the counselor brought Aureole's attention to a school she just happened to notice. She handed Aureole the flyer and smiled at her. She didn't know why she grabbed it when she walked by, but she immediately thought of Aureole when she saw it. Aureole looked at the flyer for the school and then back up at her counselor, unable to hide her want to go to a real school. Her counselor graciously offered to pay Aureole's way through school if she needed it, and sent her off with a smile. From there, it was up to Aureole what she would do at Augustine Academy.

Strengths:
-Skilled in hand to hand
-Highly durable due to training as a warrior
-Stronger and faster than the average human, she is very much capable of punching through cement, and can run approx. 60-70 mph sprints, and about 45-50 long-distance
-Flexible enough to be a professional contortionist.

Weaknesses:
-Daunted by things she doesn’t have much knowledge on; she often becomes more cautious, but also more hesitant, leading to openings.
-Fire and Aureole are not best friends since it can negate her plant ability, or weaken it.
-She will not hesitate to tank, or take hits from others to protect someone else.
- One can figure out the movement of her constructs and plants by watching her hands.
-Horrible sense of direction, often uses plants and maps to figure out where she's going

Abilities:
Construct Creation
-She can create construct like shields by can change their properties so they can form healing circles and bandages, or bladed shields she can fire at the enemy. Her constructs are light red in color, almost pink. Her constructs are made for specific things. If it’s meant to shield someone, it’s more durable and thick. If it’s meant to heal, its sticks and heals only, attacks and enemies can easily pass through it. If it’s meant to attack, touching a sharpened side will cause damage, but it is easily breakable. Aureole can only control two constructs at a time. She can fly by standing on one of her constructs and levitating it.

Plant Manipulation
-As a forest mage, Aureole can control plant life. She can increase growth and the strength of a plant as well as make it do her bidding, such as grabbing onto an opponent and moving/holding them, or using sharpened roots to stab them. Most attacks are preceded by a hand gesture and there actually has to be plant life around.

Theme: Lurk in the Dark

Nickname(s):

Quote: “This mark on my chest, and this scar on my side. They are all I have left of my home, and yet I hate them, because they remind me of what I have failed to protect.”

Extra:
Medical issues: Sometimes her side aches when she's upset. The pain can get bad enough to cause actual problems like profuse sweating and vomiting

Height: 5’4

She is always washing or cleaning her hands (to get the 'blood' off) out of habit, she always carries around lotion because this dries her hands out at times.

If you hurt someone that she cares about, you can be sure that she will pay you back tenfold, the ghosts of her people can attest to that.

She is a fantastic cook since she worked in a Cafe
