So I guess it's no secret what Matt Kenseth did to Joey Logano at Martinsville. Kenseth who was nine laps down rammed Logano into the wall while he was leading at Martinsville, destroying both cars. Kenseth has been pissed about Logano spinning him while they were racing for the lead at Kansas and this was obvious payback, despite Kenseth's excuse of a right front tire going down.
Kenseth has been suspended for two races and been put on probation for 6 months but plans to appeal the penalty. Personally I don't think the penalty is fair, but I wanna know what you guys think before I give my two cents.

He was also fined as was Danica for her wrecking another driver as well. The hosts of Race Hub were talking about the two and said it seems clear that if you touch a chase driver the penalty is going to be real still. Tho both Danica and Kenseth did the same thing the circumstances were different. I am actually surprised that it was not stiffer. They took out a real contender for the cup. Still a lot of controversy that will be talked about for years.

I'm actually really pissed now. Kenseth's appeals were denied and the penalty was only amended so that his probation would end at the end of December.
As for the reason I'm pissed, it is that after all this time they've decided to make an example of Matt Kenseth of all people. Matt has a history of being a clean racer. Meanwhile drivers like Kevin Harvick who like to stop in other drivers pit boxes, and play bumper cars on the race track on a regular basis seem encouraged to do such. At Talladega, Harvick sparked the big one at the end of the race when he purposely dumped Trevor Bayne because his engine was blowing up and he didn't want to lose chase points. You can't tell me Harvick didn't try to cause that wreck. I don't think there's a single dimension where I'd be lame enough to believe that.
And how about a few years ago when Jeff Gordon waited for Clint Bowyer to lap him so he could ram Clint's car into the outside wall and destroy two other cars. Tony Stewart had a long history of getting into it with everyone every week. He even wrecked Matt in front of a pack of cars at the 2006 Daytona 500 at 200 mph after spending speed weeks saying, "We're gonna kill somebody..." and NASCAR did nothing.
Since joining JGR, this is the second massive penalty NASCAR has handed to Kenseth. I seem to remember a couple of years ago at Michigan, NASCAR tried to stiff Kenseth with a massive penalty for the engine's connecting rods being slightly out of spec as far as weight is concerned. It was something that wouldn't even have affected the performance of the car in any way, but just like this time, NASCAR did their best by trying to make an example of Kenseth and his JGR team by trying to take them out of the owners championship and giving them a massive points penalty and fine. The majority of the penalty was overturned, but like this time, I believe it was a classic case of NASCAR playing the "needlessly make an example" card.
I'm actually tired of watching races and being pissed off that NASCAR only seems to take any sort of action against drivers who don't have aggressive tenancies. Don't get me wrong, I do understand Matt crossed a line being that he was 9 laps down when he purposely destroyed both cars at Martinsville while on the other hand he spun at Kansas while he and Logano were racing hard for the lead. But suspending a driver like Kenseth who has a very minimal history of being aggressive like that is sickening. Think about this the next time Kevin Harvick decides to block somebody's pit box in the middle of a race cause he decided it's time to be a redneck jackoff tough guy. Or maybe when Harvick knows his engine is blowing up but tries to use the "I was taught to never give up" excuse when he explains why he was going out of his way to be a hazard and wreck half the field. How about when Tony Stewart loses his temper over nothing and turns someone sideways in front of a pack of cars at 200 mph (if he can ever find his way to the front of a race again). Or maybe when Kurt Busch is allowed to destroy cars every race, but NASCAR doesn't decide to suspend him for a race until he says, "********" in front of a camera.
Clint Bowyer said this after an altercation between Kenseth and Keselowski at Charlotte last year. "If Matt Kenseth comes running at you and puts you in a headlock and punches you in the nose, there's no jury needed. There's no judge needed. You're guilty. Period." Clint then went on to say Matt is the nicest person in the garage and implied that it takes a lot to get Matt to the breaking point where he'll go out of his way to get into it with anyone. And quite frankly, Matt's history as a driver speaks for itself. He is a finesse racer. Period.
