Blackstone snarled something under his breath as the Count ran off with his device. He needed that. He didn't sneak into Fisk's office to obtain the machine the very same day he spoke to Cobblepot... just to wait around for who knows how long before he could find out just what had happened to Sapphire. With the critical condition Mr Fisk was in... the large man could die before he had a chance to find out from him. There was no talking to him while he was in a coma. And the more time that was wasted... the less chance Blackstone would have of finding Sapphire again. If she was even still alive.
As the guards rushed into the room, Blackstone walked past them and began heading to the private elevator he used to get to his apartment level. "Leave me be. Get the hall cleaned up and free of any of the gas that's lingering." he ordered. "Close the hall down until that floor is repaired. And I want every bit of security combed through. How he got in, how he exited, everything. I want to know who that was, and how I can find him."
"Uh, sir. What about the arrow in your-"
"Nevermind it. Taking care of the hallway and identifying our new threat is more important." Blackstone replied, making his way to the elevator. Once inside, he didn't say another word. He rode to the very upper levels, and exited inside the hallway of his suite.
Now that he was alone, away from any security that anyone would be watching, he allowed himself to finally succumb to the toxin. He reached around and yanked the arrow out of his back as he stumbled his way towards his master bedroom. There was nothing to do now other than try to sleep off the gas and arrow. Once he was awake and feeling more himself, he was going to have a LOT of work to do.
