The base was long since abandoned, but it was best to check up on it, every now and again, to make sure nothing untoward lingered there. And it had, in the past, been empty every time Felicia had visited, some old thing in some dusty corner of the Mojave, with nothing of interest around for miles, lairs and fear-touched critters included. She climbed to the top of a dune, down near the south of the perimeter of the base; the portal dropped you off about a half mile away from it, which made for a brief hike up and down the sand before the dilapidated building showed its face. While it had been empty every other time, it seemed that this time was different. Down by one of the open walls was an unfamiliar figure, not dressed in the crisp white of hunter attire. Felicia summoned Scrawl, his huge plating forming over her arms, the pneumatic pumping hissing to life. "Who's t-there?" she called, guard raised.

Eitri had heard talk of the abandoned base in passing and it seemed the perfect place for various scrap metal. It wasn't his preferred material - he'd much rather find ores and refine them himself, but this would do for simple trinkets - jewelry, utensils and the like. His journey there was quick and he watched the base for some time before entering it completely. He had assumed it empty but evidently he'd been wrong.
He rose from his crouched position, scythe appearing in his hands with a ripple in the air around it. He squinted in the distance, taking a few steps towards the voice so as to get a better look and to determine friend or foe. But there, flaring, was the undeniable white and gold of a Hunter's coat. His fingers gripped his scythe tighter and his brow furrowed.
"Just a scavenger," he replied. "Best be on your way."

She did not, in fact, go along her way. Instead, she skidded down the dune, dragging her massive gauntlets against the sand to slow her fall. "You p-p-probably shouldn't take that, you know," Felicia said, helpful, peering at the scrap he was taking. Despite her stutter, she sounded more at ease than anything, and a little bit curious. "K-kinda not yours and s**t."

"Kinda not anyone's anymore, is it?" He called, kicking a piece of rubble to emphasise his point. "Years from now won't be anything left - trees'll take over first. Then the creatures will come. No one will remember." He picked up a bit of plastic piping and peeked inside before he cracked it over his knee, tearing it apart to reveal the wiring inside. There was copper in there, no doubt and he curled it into a loop around his hand before stuffing it neatly in the satchel hung over his shoulder.
"Just grabbing some supplies. Stop me, if you want. If you can." He crouched and began moving pieces of rock and brick, sifting through the debris for more scraps of copper or other bits of metal. Something shiny caught his eye - and he reached out, pulling a heart-shaped pendant. It was covered in dust and he spat on it, giving it a polish. It was engraved, but damaged and he couldn't make out what the original inscription read. He tossed it in the air and caught it before throwing it towards the hunter. Scavenging as he was, he wasn't a thief - even if it did belong to a Hunter.
"This belongs to one of yours I'm guessing." He continued his search though occasionally he stopped to glance at the hunter and his body was tense, waiting to react should she decide to initiate.

Felicia sighed dramatically, trailing after him instead. "Aw, m-man. I don't wanna b-beat up a hot guy, t-that's lame. Even if you are l-like, one of the enemy, or w-w-whatever." She looked at the pendant and shrugged, tossing it over her shoulder. "I don't actually c-care. I'm just s-supposed to, and you guys are supposed to be b- bad." Still, Felicia had a job to do. She sighed again, long suffering, and summoned her weapon reluctantly.
