Hey everyone, I need your help with something.
I've always wanted a doll from Chateau. But, I wanted to know the quality. Are they good dolls? Have you heard anything bad from them? I'm still very new in the BJD community. I just recently got my first boy Adrian(Mystic Kids) and I'm still trying to get the hang of BJD.
Any information is much appreciated! I really wanted to purchase Sexta. Since he's so cool looking! 8D

I have a DC adult body and it is a very unstable poser. Another person from my community has also told me that their bodies are very unstable. The ankle is just too small. Even with sueding, they are NOT solid standers. If you are planning to get a MSD, consider also getting a doll stand. If you are going to get a SD, then a stand (or at least leaning them against something) is a must. Seriously. I stood up my boy and he seemed perfectly fine, so I go to grab my camera and in that instant... SPLAT! He took a nosedive and completely smashed his nose.
Weak ankles aside, I don't have any other complaints. And I haven't heard any complaints from my community, either.

The pictures made them seem so strong in their standing and posing. Whenever I do get my first Chateau, I'll do as you recommend and probably get a stand with doll. Is getting outfits also hard? Because of all their joints and long limbs?

I know their tinies are very difficult to find clothes for, per my BJD friend.
I don't know about their mini line.
As for the SDs, I'm not sure if they fit anything. They probably fit shirts, but, as you said, pants may not have enough leg. I sewed my SD's clothes, so I didn't even try anything on him. He does need larger than average shoes though... those jointed toes are crazy.

I've been planning on getting one to learn how to make clothes for my dolls. But I might have to invest sooner. Per chance do you know any other good companies? I'm so new to the hobby, that I'm struggling a bit to find ones that are good or trying to figure out ones I should stay away from.

There are so many good ones that it's easier to tell you the sketchy ones!
Really, there are just so many companies out there. I couldn't name them all. My first doll was from Luts. They do great work. Fairyland dolls have some amazing engineering. Their tinies have the best posing of any company I've owned, hands down. Iplehouse are the most realistic but they're not the best posers... Their resin is amazingly smooth though; they are so much fun to do face ups on. Dreamingdoll sometimes has amazing event sales and you can get a real bargain. They are a good balance of cost and sculpting. Their blank heads are asymmetric, but makeup covers it just fine. Speaking of cost, Resinsoul is underrated. Their newer generation of bodies is quite nice and their face sculpts are flexible.
What are you looking for?

Haha, so far I got a doll from mystic kids that I really liked, but I really want to branch out. I really like having my dolls in pairs??? The doll I have right now, I'm planning to get him a buddy to pose with. But, I'm looking for dolls that kinda look like Mystic Kids or Chateau? I was looking at Dollzone and really liked how their dolls looked. I really want to make sure I'm getting the quality for my buck. But I wouldn't mind ones that pose very easily. I'm sorry if that isn't very descriptive. There is so much more than I realized. Very intimidating and exciting.

No matter what you choose, just make sure to do a lot of research. Company photos are rarely helpful. Look for owner pictures and make sure that you're going to like what you get.

Thank you so much for you advice. I feel a bit more confident and I'll defiantly do more research when I start branching out to other companies.

Yeah, I've heard that DC dolls were hard to find clothes for because of how skinny they are. Also, I would look into how they stand and DC body review videos. I've heard of some people's dolls who stand solidly.

I've heard of some people's dolls who stand solidly. Yeah, I was looking up more information and certain dolls seemed to have worse time standing up. Which is a it disheartening since I love the look of Doll chateau. And really fell in love with some of their dolls, but I'm nervous in getting some now. I might do more research before finally putting a verdict on wether or not I'll buy them.

Dollzone and Doll Chateau are actually sister companies (made by the same people) so it's no wonder you'd like them. Having had a few dollzone dolls come and go through my household, I'd definitely recommend them and would say they're quite good in quality. I'm still planning on getting my DZ Mo back some day. :c
I'll second Resinsoul as a great company. I find they're very underrated but I feel that's cuz their website and photo shoots are hideous and really just don't do the dolls justice at all. If you get a chance, look up scarlettmare_ on Instagram, her resinsoul boy really changed my mind about that company (as a lot of random Resinsoul owners have). Similarly, impldoll is another pretty awesome company that's quite good price-wise. They have some really odd looking sculpts but some of them are much prettier just in owner pictures than in the company photos and some of the odd sculpts are odd in a pretty way honestly (I've been eyeing Avery from them as well as Gela, Ives, and Chad who are all semi-odd/weird in one way or another).
Another seemingly good company is April Story. They have an amazing sale and event going on right now where their dolls are all 40% off and you can get two for a little as $550 in total in their 1+1 event. I haven't handled one irl but am currently waiting on a doll from them and have watched some video reviews on them that seemed pretty promising for the price they're selling at right now.
YouTube is another great source btw when it comes to doll stuff as you can get a better sense of how the doll moves and poses in video versus pictures.
If you want to check out multiple doll companies in one small spot, bjdcollectasy or whatever has links to most if not all the known BJD companies and acbjd.com is a seller of a pretty long list of often overlooked companies (and who is also doing an event right now where all orders over $100 gets free express shipping).
