RAW drew a 4.1 this week. Wrestlemania equals the best time of year for ratings, period. I was somewhat curious to see how othe WWE has done, overall, on the USA Networks. So thanks to Wrestling Information Archive for putting ratings in a nice table format and to Microsoft Excel, I took some averages of ratings. For 2005 through September 26th, RAW averaged around 3.81 on Spike TV. Since October 3rd on the USA Networks, RAW has done an average rating of 3.9875, which is a hair from 4.0. Keep in mind, however, that USA Networks has benefitted from the WWE's best time of the year to spike the ratings a little bit.
BUT, a great point can be made that USA Networks is paying WAY LESS than Spike TV and is seeing slightly better, if not the same, results. USA Networks wins in a big way and avoid that problem with the Winner's Curse that Viacom suffered through in 2000 by overpaying for a WWE product that peaked and was on the way down. Congrats to USA Networks, and congrats to NBC/Universal if Saturday Night's Main Event is a huge hit (which I predict it will be).
