"Of course I don't understand. I can't know unless you tell me. Whisper it. Sign it. Write it down. Anything! It can't be to late for you. What have they done to you." Stumbling back as her hands gripped the chair beside her for balance. Her head was swimming, she felt nauseous, and there was a large migraine forming behind her eyes. It was making it hard to think clearly at all. How had situations like this worked in the movies? No she couldn't remember the name of it but there was that one scene were people did things... crazy things for something more important to them. "Do they have something over you? If I take it's spot will you be able to protect them?"

Tears streamed down Ritsa's cheeks. Jeff had helped more of the Mall rats than she ever could have. They owed it to their leaders to help. "Am I worth enough to trade for you guys? Or am I better off just asking for the main course now? I don't want any of these appetizers." Ritsa shot a panic stricken look towards the chef.

The doors leading out of the banquet hall opened. A different chef appeared, this time pushing a wheeled cart with several covered plates.

A plate was set in front of them: 888, Ritsa, G-Man, Guy.

The plates were removed.

Each plate was garnished with fresh parsley, the deep vivid green off-set by the glistening rack of half-ribs set next to a flank of marbled meat. A faint plume of steam rose from the uncooked meat.

"Your main course, as requested," The chef curtly said, motioning for the waitress. Glasses of water were brought out and set down next to each plate along with a set of fine silverware.

Ritsa's eyes flashed towards Guy, taking note of his reaction. His reaction frightened her. What had she done? First she'd offered to take Jeff's place. Then tried to call for the main course in an attempt to save him. Only for the chef to wheel Jeff away. "No wait! Stop, where are you going!?" Ritsa screamed as she rose to her feet. "Bring him back! BRING HIM BACK!"

Her arm extended in a futile effort towards the chef and Jeff as all that she was crushed around her. What had she done? Her eyes shot directly towards Guy. Did he know about this!? Why didn't he say something, anything. If she had any idea of his plan he could have said so before back at table six. Why hadn't he said anything then!? She stared at him long and hard as if trying to understand what was happening. Perhaps this was some elaborate joke.

A shiver ran down her spine as another chef reappeared with plats for them all. Her eyes followed them earnestly until they were removed so their contents were shown. A blood curdling scream ripped from her chest, this had to be someone else right? It couldn't be Jeff, right? "OK jokes over, bring Jeff back. Bring him back out here!"
