I'm just makin' my play ██ ;; Don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way It's been a year and a month since the zombies apocalypse started. Samantha became used to surviving under those conditions but she still remembered how it all started. A year and a month ago, she was driving in a car with her family. Her mother, father and little brother. They were on their way to visit their grandmother for the holiday, but everything started before they could each reach their grandmother. Sam remembered it well: It all started in the traffic, the cars barely moved. Sam was listening to her music in her earphones while her brother was asleep in the car, her father was sitting at the driver's seat and her mother sat beside him. Sam closed her eyes to take a short nap but after five minutes she opened them and saw people starting to run while her father shouting at them to get out of the car. Before she could realize what was going on, Sam and her family got out of the car and started to run as well. Everyone were screaming, running for their lives, trying to escape from something unknown. But only when her mother was caught and eaten by them, Samantha understood what those creatures were.
Slipping her black leather jacket on, Samantha sat down on the couch to tie her black boots. Once she was ready, she tucked her Kahr PM9 pistol into the back of her black skinny jeans, a small dagger into her left boot. Grabbing her Alpine Shooter, she pulled the strap over her shoulder.Back then, she had no idea she will be using guns and shoot zombies, she had plans for the future. She wanted to become a doctor, in fact she was about to finish her first semester. But who would have thought that all of her normal life will be ruined like this. Sighing softly, Samantha stepped out of the apartrment. It was time to get some food. The building was empty and so was the street, most of the zombies were wandering near the airport because it was the last place that had humans in but Sam still had to be extra safe whenever she walked out. The grocery store was just near the building she lived so it didn't take her a lot of time to get there.
Holding the hunting gun briefly, Samantha's eyes looked at every direction in case she will spot a zombie wondering.Walking quietly down the road, Samantha learned to move very quietly because she knew that loud noises attracts zombies. Opening the door of the grocery store, Samantha stepped inside. It's been a year and Samantha knew that no one could be around here so she didn't even bother to check the place. She just went straight to the drinks section and grabbed a bottle of fresh water, opening the bottle Sam started to drink the fresh cool water.

"Come on..." Jasper muttered under his breath in aggravation, pursing his lips as the third zombie of the day came shambling towards him ready to attack. It was making these disgusting, guttural sounds from deep within its throat and hunger and death were recognizable on its face. Pulling his .44 magnum out of its holster, Jasper steadied the gun in his hand and without a moments hesitation squeezed the trigger. A loud crack echoed all around him as a wisp of smoke escaped from the gun barrel and the single bullet connected with its target, blasting a clean hole through the zombies skull. It had been thirteen months since the outbreak of the epidemic. Thirteen months of wandering the streets, battling zombies whilst continuing his search for Amber. He missed her so much. Her soft lips, her blonde hair and her entrancing emerald eyes. They were together for three years and god were those the best three years of his life.

June 18th, 2032. Nathan had woken up from a nap after a busy day of training, investigating and paperwork. On the nightstand Amber had left a note. 'Jas, I went to get some supplies. I didn't want to wake you up, you looked so worn out when you came home. Be back soon. I love you.' He looked over at the blaring television that was making such an irritating noise and could scarcely make out what the news presenter was saying but it sounded urgent. "Reports are coming in from all over the globe of the wide spread infection that attacks the human brain and.... skin becomes yellow and their eyes turn bloodshot.... aggressive, and attempting to bite or otherwise injure others and pass on the virus..." He heard enough and rummaged around the room for his phone to call Amber and tell her to come home. He found it and dialed her number, and cursed when it went straight to voicemail. He could only hope that she was watching or at least listening to this.
Then suddenly there was a loud banging against his door. Hastily, he grabbed his dufflebag and shoved everything into it while keeping a close eye on the door. He grabbed his gun last and strapped the bag over his shoulder. Jasper was an FBI agent in training, and prior to that was an army officer for five years--he came from a military family. His father had a short stint in the navy when he was younger and his eldest brother was an ex army officer, and his second eldest brother was a highly decorated royal marines officer. The door collapsed moments later and with his firearm already in position, Jasper pulled the trigger and clenched his jaw he watched the infected male crumpled to the floor, slowly then all at once. He made his escape then.

Now, his loneliness was mitigated only by the companionship of his Rottweiler, Buddy. He found the mutt cowering under a broken down vehicle not long after the outbreak. The thirty-one year old male licked the base of his lips as he slid the gun back into its holster and continued down the empty road, Buddy trotting along by his side. "You hungry, pooch?" Jasper asked quietly, nodding his head after some silence as if to agree with the dog. "I am too," he mumbled. He was awfully hungry; raiding grocery stores wasn't near as thrilling as it used to be. Most of the food had rotted away and now he was left canned meats, tuna, soup and beans. It would be false to say he didn't miss Amber's delicious homemade meals.
He found a grocery store further up the road and pushed open the doors, striding inside. Jasper let his scouring blue eyes take in his surroundings while remaining as quiet as a mouse, listening for any signs of potential trouble. When he heard nothing, he moved down one of the isles towards the canned goods and began to refill his dufflebag, glancing around every so often as he did so. It was when he suddenly heard something fall from one of the shelves that his head snapped to the side, hand automatically going to his holster. Buddy, in all of his guilt, stood in front of a dented can of food with his ears tucked back as his big brown eyes lifted to his owner. A sweet breeze of relief flew by and Jasper closed his eyes briefly and shook his head, giving his dog a stern look. "Be careful," he said firmly. The last thing they needed was to attract unwanted attention. With a deep sigh, Jasper glanced around one last time before going back to what he was doing.

I'm just makin' my play ██ ;; Don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way The chill water made her feel much more awake and fresh. Leaning against the cold wall of the store, Samantha breathed out calmly. Now all she had to do was to get herself some food that wasn't expired yet, Sam started to move to the snacks section but just then a sound of something falling was heard. Stopping immediately, Her eyes widened and her fingers gripped her gun tightly, she wasn't expecting those creatures to be here. Especially after most of them wandered somewhere else. And here she thought this place was safe, it was a stupid idea to let her guard down and not check the place, even after thirteen months she still needed to scan every place.
Knowing that it was almost impossible that an uninfected person will be here, the twenty six years old female walked silently in the store. As her bright green eyes scanned the place, Samantha positioned the gun to hold it more comfortably. It wasn't her first nor second time to kill a zombie, yet her heartbeat started to race. Obviously she was nervous, but who wouldn't? Being in a store with a zombie and knowing that he could pop out of nowhere, doesn't really sound like a pleasant situation. Sam continued to walk until she saw a figure of a man, facing his back at her. Positioning the rifle in her hands, Sam closed one eye as she focused on the figure that was a few meters from her. Her sweaty finger pressed against the trigger, causing the bullet to fly out. Lokking at the man, Samantha expected the bullet to fly through his skull but she missed the target. Instead, the bullet just blowed the can that was beside his head.
The truth was that Samantha was bad at aiming, even when she was younger she missed everytime she played dart games or anything to do with aiming. There wasn't even one time that she didn't miss at least once before actually hitting the target. It was also the main reason for her to leave the basketball team, she was just bad at this. But with the apocalypse, she actually became good at this. Lowering her gun only for a few seconds, Samantha quickly reloaded the gun before steadying the gun for her next shot.

Jasper walked along the empty isle while shoving as many cans of food as he could fit into his dufflebag. This grocery stores selection of canned goods wasn't so bad--he found chicken noodle soup (his favourite), salmon, green beans and chicken. All of which were edible for Buddy as well. A warm smile spread across his face and he zipped up his dufflebag. The sun was still high but Jasper was compelled to just take the day off and laze around now that they had a months worth of food.
The subtle noise of soft footsteps was enough to grasp his attention though before he could even turn around, an ear-splitting sound sliced through the air and flew past his ear. His entire body crumpled to the floor and he twisted to get a look at the deranged gunman that nearly blew his ear off. "JESUS ******** CHRIST WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" he yelled, frantic eyes settling on the young woman who stood in front of him. She was already beginning to reload and Jasper's eyes widened as he slowly stood up, lifting his hands in the air to show the woman that he wasn't a threat. "Put the gun down, I'm not going to hurt you," he pleaded, trying to inch himself closer. He wouldn't--though Buddy sure as hell would. The enormous beast had moved himself between the two protectively, his tail straight and stiff and his ears folded back as a low rumble sounded from his throat.
Jasper glanced down at the mutt and he made a sharp sound with his lips which caused Buddy to slowly back up and sit down by his feet. "Please," he said to the female, eyeing her very carefully. She was quite pretty. Dark brown hair that contrasted perfectly against her fair skin and her eyes a bright green, the same shade as Amber's. But she was a lunatic to almost kill him, and only standing a few meters away from him too. It was almost as if she had never held a gun before.

The reason she didn't press the trigger right away was because he spoke. Zombies couldn't speak and they sure don't look like the man who was standing in front of her. The man had a normal skin unlike zombies, giving Sam a feeling of relief. He had a short brown curly hair, a pair of bright eyes. It was surprising to see someone normal like her, after all, she thought she was alone all with no other human beings. But Samantha didn't pull her gun right away, in fact when the dog stepped between them, she just lowered the gun towards the dog. Eyeing it carefully but the dog seemed fine. Her bright green eyes glanced from the dog to the man again, blinking softly.
Loosening her grip on the gun, Samantha placed the strap over her shoulder. Letting the gun hang beside her body, Samantha dropped her hands to the sides."You're lucky I missed." She spoke calmly as she made her way towards the cans on the shelves. "I thought you were one of them, and I didn't see the dog." Samantha glanced down at the dog who stayed close to the man, eyeing it before looking over at the cans. "I didn't know there were more survivors." She was searching for her favorite soup: chicken soup. Once she found the cans, Samanatha grabbed two cans and the another can of beef stew. Sometimes she wished she could eat something else than food in cans but right now it was her only option. She didn't have a bag so Samantha had to carry as much as she could take with her hands.
