Sylvia "Nevada" Grey

Sylvia pulled off her helmet to wipe the sweat from her forehead. “The last round showed a 13% improvement in synchronization.” The male voice said. It was Sigma her new partner, except unlike other partners this one was an AI and lived inside her head. They had spent the last two weeks since the implantation learning to work and live together. Admittedly it hadn’t been easy, still wasn’t easy, but nothing worthwhile was ever easy. Plagued by migraines and sleeplessness caused by having a second voice in her head as well as the uncomfortable feeling of never being alone presented challenges she had never faced before, but Sigma understood her in a way no one else had before. He understood her drive to be the best and worked just has hard as she did for the goal. Sylvia had been resistant to the idea of being implanted with an AI; she didn’t need anyone’s help. After seeing what he could do with her equipment though, going from lucky if it worked to it working all the time, the pair were learning to use it in ways she had never thought possible.

“Again?” Sylvia asked out loud. She didn’t need to, Sigma could hear her thoughts, but it was a hard habit to break when answering someone else.

The small hologram of Sigma appeared in front of her. “Actually the Director has requested our presence. It seems he has a mission for us.”

“Finally.” She was excited to see what she and Sigma could do out in the field and she could feel that Sigma felt the same way.

Cody "Washington" Hargrove

Cody was sitting in his lab, working on something when a small glowing green figure in armor appeared standing next to his work, "Are you sure that this device will work, I am running the algorithms of your circuitry and such, I believe that this will only cause it to self destruct when activated." Spoke Delta, Cody's A.I. who has been implanted about 3 weeks back and he has gotten use to the little A.I.'s new look on life. Cody however smiled, "Doubtful, I am sure that you're just looking at it wrong because you don't have anything but logic on your side." He said as he turned it on but it worked for a few minutes before sparking and smoking, "Not a word D." He said glaring at the A.I. but it didn't seem offended as it glimmered slightly, "Cody, it would seem that it is time to see what the Director has in store, we are needed in briefing." Delta reported before disappearing but Cody got up, throwing away the device as he put on his armor, walking into the briefing room. Cody walked to the briefing room and looked around, wondering who was called to the mission at hand as he knew that if it wasn't a solo mission that he would most likely be paired with Nevada, which he was curious why she would be needed, he was normally used on missions where he would sneak in or access a priority data terminal.

The Director stood at the head of the holographic table, his arms folded behind his back, with a stiff posture due to his many years of working on the military side of Genesis, not that Project Freelancer was part of Genesis of course. “Agent Washington.” He greeted as Cody walked into the room. “Agent Nevada” He nodded when Sylvia joined them shortly after. Without waiting for a response from either of them he gestured to the hologram in front of them. “Your first assignment with your new AI partners should be simple enough. Our aid has been requested in recovering a research facility. The building is in lock down, with their experiments running free inside. Washington you will have to manually open several locks inside, as removing the lock down will allow the experiments to escape. Your orders are simple. Eliminate everyone you find inside and make sure none of the research is damaged while doing so. Any questions?” He asked looking at the two Agents. They had both shown vast improvements since receiving the AI's and it was time to see if that would continue into the field.

Cody "Washington" Hargrove

Cody looked at him when he greeted him but Cody stood there having removed his helmet and set it to the side to be a bit more relaxed. He thought over what their mission was but he looked at the director, "Wait a minute... are these enemy scientists or civilians because if we are to eliminate everyone inside, aren't their chances of there being innocent people still alive inside?" He asked before he looked at Delta but then he had an idea, "Wait a minute sir, you said that the experiments escaped... what are these experiments? Are they living or robotic... what is it that we should expect?" He asked thinking that details were needed since this was the director who usually provided needed info so that the mission would go smoothly.

“The experiments are human, but there are not anyone you can help and I doubt any of them are innocent anymore. A complication arose that didn't show up until the human trial phase. Driven mad by ultra sensitive senses, the test subjects have killed those who were working there.” He explained to Cody. While he was asking important questions in regards to how they might need to execute the mission he should be less concerned with the morality of it. “Those responsible are dead and the only way you can help the living is to put them out of their misery. Recovering the data is vital so the mistake can be corrected.” The Director concluded.

Cody "Washington" Hargrove

Cody looked at him when he spoke but he thought it over, he sighed as he looked at the table, "D... give me the map of the lockdown." He said as he looked at the holographic map that appeared, "I would suggest close quarters weaponry due to the hallways." Delta suggested to both agents as Cody looked at the locations of where he would need to pull the data. When he then thought of something, he turned to look at Sylvia, "So I assume that Nevada is either going to be on guard duty as me and Delta pull the data, or is she on extermination duty?" he asked rather not liking the idea of killing those already lost.

“Both.” The Director corrected. “Since explosives would risk damaging any equipment inside, you will need to travel with her to open any doors. The building is divided into several sections. And since hand to hand combat is not your strong suit, I would recommend keeping Nevada near by. As Delta pointed out, the hall ways will make the use of range weapons difficult. Only you two are going. Kill everyone, bring back the research intact.” He repeated the goals of the mission.

“Common Wash.” Sylvia said some what impatiently. It had been a long time since she had gotten to go for a mission and she was itching to leave. “This one sounds easy. They are just civilians right? Not even trained in combat. Stop stressing over the details. I'll bring my big knife and we'll be done in five minutes!” It wasn't like her to be so reckless regarding a mission but with Sigma on her side she felt unstoppable. Who could possibly keep up with her now? “Besides we have the whole flight there to figure out the details.” She added.

Cody "Washington" Hargrove

Cody listened to what he said about the explosives and knew that they had to be careful with the handling of the situation. When he finished, he nodded to them both as he got his helmet and put it on, "Alright then... lets get ready." He said as he left for the armory to grab a shotgun and a smg/sidearm depending on what he would think he would need. As he got there, Delta appeared, "I can sense that you are displeased with this assignment. Delta stated before Sylvia was able to join but Cody sighed, "Its not that... its just most assignments have us going after terrorists and other enemy factions and such... standard military objectives... but these are civilians, which even if they aren't in control of themselves, its still feels awkward." He said more to himself but soon he had Delta log off his hologram before looking at Sylvia, "Ready to go?" He asked curiously to her.

Sylvia entered the armoury a few minutes after Cody, having stopped to talk to the Director briefly. “I am always ready to go.” She answered flashing a grin as she picked out her weapons. Since the Director had emphasized the importance of data collection she decided to go with a couple of combat knives and a pistol as to not accidentally hit a server or something. Tucking her helmet under and arm she indicated he should follow her and started down the hall towards the hanger, where their ride to the location of this research lab would be. “What's with all the questions Wash? Don't tell me you aren't excited to get back out into the field?” She paused for a second giving him a glance out of the corner of her eye. “You should know the Director doesn't like it when someone questions an assignment. Besides we're the good guys. If there was a way to help these people it would have been done, right?”

Cody "Washington" Hargrove

Cody looked at her but holstering his shotgun onto his back, he thought it over as he picked up his helmet and held it as he walked with Sylvia. Hearing what she said, he then thought it over, "Seriously Nevada... you have to ask? Heck I am surprised that I asked if you were ready to go." He said thinking it over, "You're always ready to fight, I have seen you training to be better... I believe that we are the good guys but due to who I am, I question and learn to become better, its how I work. I am always questioning things." He said as they got to the transport, but when as he stood, Delta appeared, "I believe that what he means is that he is normally questioning the act of fighting, which while he is a good shot. His scores work more with firing ranges and high in science, rather then on the battlefield." He said but Cody looked at him as Delta didn't need the command to log off to know to disappear. Cody sighed, "Fine, I am just a bit nervous about being back out in the field again." He said having other reasons.

“You will be fine Wash.” Sylvia said rolling her eyes. “Besides Sigma and I will take care of the crazies. All you have to do is open some doors and not ******** up the data collection, right Sig?” She grinned at him as the fiery hologram appeared before them both. “Perhaps Agent Washington would benefit from more time on the training floor if he is concerned about his performance in the field.” Sigma answered. “Not the nicest way to put it, but Sig does have a point. We wouldn’t be nearly as good if we didn’t practice.” Of course her Suldari heritage and natural talent played a role as well, but Sylvia attributed most of her success to hard work. When they reached the hanger Sylvia greeted their pilot before hopping aboard and taking a seat. “Seriously though, what was with all the questions about civilians and finding innocent people?"

Cody looked at her when she rolled her eyes but when she said that she and sigma would take care of the crazies but he then thought it over. He shook his head, "You don't have to worry about me ******** up the data collection, I can do that in my sleep." He said but then as he got up onto the ship and got in his seat, Delta appeared again, "Actually Agent Nevada, you may spend a lot of time and have the highest score of the agency but Washington has has increased his combat effectiveness by 6%, its a fraction compared to your recent entries in the training room." He said but Cody interrupted, "Thank you again Delta... but you forget Nevada, Im not the same as you, I don't work hard to be an agent to better myself, I better myself to help those who need help... by taking out enemy factions and such, we protect people, but when we start firing at people who are only attacking against their will, I just find it questionable... Its apart of the piece of my non-human race that makes me question everything." He said as he adjusted his helmet, "Anyway, lets just focus on the mission now..." he said trying to get his mind focused on it.
