Aeryn watched with little fervor when Lightning showed her ability to them. If anything, the teacher frowned the entire time as she saw the blaring oversight in her room.
"Why must Alice insist upon having my class filled with windows," she questioned before flicking her fingers downward. The window immediately disappeared after the display, and she shook her head. "Your magic will work from the natural light from my energy." She languidly jutted her hand toward two of the long see-through pillars with bright light exuding from it. "There will be natural energy in the room, do not worry."
Turning to the others she nodded to Bell and continued, "The most dangerous magic is always the most.. pretty, as you say. Rune magic takes more time to implement depending on the user, take this into consideration when you are thrown into combat. You will assess those around you while also trying to survive. You will-"
The teacher cut off as the warmth of the boy pooled at her side. Her arm was being clenched by small hands, and the worry in the boy's eyes was strange. Kasamatsu may have tried to calm him, but it left a sour taste in the woman's mouth and she did not know why. She had never been scared of her ability, never been worried she may harm others. Aeryn had no discernible weakness but only strength, and yet the boy was telling her to remember the promise they had made.
You'll understand in due time, Gen(esis) replied softly.
Will I?
Taking a large gulp of breath, in which she did not need, Aeryn replied, "There will be a flank of enemies from all sides. Your task is to make it to the end of the street without any of your party dying. The humanoids that will be attacking you are not real humans, and you will exterminate them with extreme prejudice. Do not think they are weak, as their disgusting figures will traumatize you if you look upon them for too long. Be wary of their clawed nails and their saliva.
The setting, and the street you will be traversing, is in downtown Tokyo. Pass through the archway and begin."

There is no longer a posting order after the first initial post from each student. It would be wise to follow the base, but whatever you want to throw in can be used at your discretion. The assessment starts now. If you have any questions, please ask them via Gaia or Skype! (If you fail, or if too many students fall, Aeryn will stop the exercise and pull you out.) "...Even The Wicked Have Souls..." ╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ The attention that was being directed towards Lightning created a state of discomfort, rather than unease, within her. It definitely wasn't something that she appreciated any longer, especially due to the fact that gobbling up attention was her past family's goal in life and she wanted nothing to do with them. However, Lightning mentally eradicated this feeling and took note of what Aeryn tried to explain to Bell, as well as the others. With a nod, she added, "Our teacher is obviously right. Not only do runes take times to cast, specfically the more powerful and complex kinds, but my type of magic is not necessarily able to be used without care. Although we will be working together as a team in this exercise, I believe it is important for you to understand that my abilities are primarily that of shadow magic and it must not be tampered with, or relied to heavily upon. I also cannot easily save you." Gesturing subtly towards Drasta, Lightning continued. "And that is why you are necessary. Do not doubt this, or we will be far closer to dying than you realise."
Lightning swiftly moved from the corner where the sunlight was once pooled and stopped next to Aeryn before nodding. It felt ever so slightly pleasing knowing that someone understood her abilities and what was required for its conjuration; the pillars would be of great help.
Preparing to leave, Lightning's aqua gaze caught Bell and her brow arched slightly. This classmate appeared to have taken an interest in her, but to what extent she was not sure. Lightning would be sure to find out at some point, however this definitely was not the right time; focus and complete concentration on the task ahead were essential. Instead, Lightning approached Bell and gently placed a gloved hand on her shoulder. "Relax. Your tension will be the death of you." Lightning exclaimed softly, and she wasn't entirely joking. Based on the information that had been given to them by Aeryn, this mission was serious and not to be underestimated. After a moment of looking into Bell's eyes, her curiosity still peaking, her hand slid from Bell's shoulder as she began to walk towards the exit. There, Lightning waited patiently for her team, not feeling it was necessary to leave without them. ╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Drasta Vimn Limkult The Plagued Healer ***************
Drasta gulped as he listened to Aeryn speak of what was to come, shivering. However, Kasamatsu's words seemingly assuaged his fears, the boy looking into his hands. The bright shimmer of his Healing Touch surrounded his hands, making him nod. "I suppose... I'll be fine..." Then Lightning said her piece, and he nodded. "R-Right... You'll protect me... If I get into trouble..." He steeled himself with positive thoughts. Now was not the time to obsess with the negativity that normally swamped his mind. Now was the time to go forth and prove himself to everyone! Aeryn had said that he had leadership potential, and now was the time to show it! She stepped towards the door, before anyone could stop him, and opened it, slipping inside.
Once he was inside the area, he looked around, raising an eyebrow. 'Is... This what Tokyo looks like? There's no way, it's too colorful... This is like a city from a storybook.' He pursed his lips and looked to the sides of the street, it being much longer than he would have liked. 'No sign of any evil creatures yet.' The boy mused internally and instantly grabbed the lid of a trash can, eager for him to have any sort of defense or weapon. This would have to do for now. Steeling himself, he looked all around himself and shuddered, speaking quietly. "A-Alright... I... I'm ready... I-I can fight you..." There were no monsters around him yet, but that wouldn't last long, surely.

XXX His eyes stayed upon Aeryn as she explained the situation to all of them. He didn't really have much else to say to her other than "understood." If he wanted to become a leader he would have to show the qualities of a leader in due time. It was as if he would have to become the brains and brute force of the group. As the archway showed their destination, Kas would take note of the two people who were ready to go. It was Light and Dras. However, what Light said to Beth was a little uncalled for. She was very blunt and being blunt at this moment would demoralize a lot of people especially saying that someone would die because they were tense. His eyes scanned the area before holding his katana in front of him and unsheathing it. The white blade was flawless as if there had been no form of wear and tear on it. It looked light but to anyone it would be impossible to hold. With a determined face he would hold his katana in one hand and his saya in the other. "Lets go." He said before stepping in and breathing in the fresh air of Tokyo. It was a city he was quite familiar with so navigating around Tokyo would be easy. 'Beth uses a sniper so it will be harder for her to shoot without some distance between her and the target. Drasta can heal so she has to stay close. Lightning needs time to use some of her abilities but she has some quick ones she can use as well. As for me? I just need to focus everything on the armor. However, if we want this mission to be a success we need to work together.... How can I utilize their abilities to support each other.' He thought to himself before waiting for the others to enter.

Drasta Vimn Limkult The Plagued Healer ***************
Drasta quickly peered side to side, trying to keep himself as small a target as possible so nothing would bother him. He could already see movement in the shadows as he slowly walked down the street. He barely even noticed Kasamatsu was there due to his own panic, it increasing the number of cracks down his face and the plague oozing and creeping to get out. It was only a matter of time on that front, but some would argue that it was a good thing, the boy completely unable to fight otherwise. Drasta himself even knew that while not in Plague Form, he would be next to useless in a fight, even with his trash can lid.
Even as the boy tried to think, one of the creatures had gotten close enough to him, and at it making a sound, to Drasta's credit, he snapped around and caught the creature's hand with a swing of the trash can lid, a resounding tinny sound ringing out. A second was not far behind, Drasta slamming the metal lid into the side of the thing's head before running away from it. At least the hit seemed to stun the creature long enough for Drasta to get some distance between it and him. Barely even holding the lid anymore, he turned to look at the creature, it still standing lamely where he'd hit it, almost as if it couldn't believe what it was just hit with. However, it quickly got it's bearing and roared, sprinting over to Drasta. With a panicked shriek he swung the metal lid again, clipping the thing's arm before it shoulder-checked him, sending him reeling and rolling onto the ground a bit, a soft choked noise coming from him. He still tightly clung to the trash can lid as if it was his entire lifeline. For all he knew, it was.
