Llashan I hate Ayane the most. I mean, she might be a good character to use when you're fighting, but personality-wise I hate her.
I don't really like Zack or Christie either, but they don't come close to how much I hate Ayane.

and as characters (not gameplay wise), I really hate Ayane, Hayate, and Hayabusa. They all are boring and idiots, Ayane seems so full of hate (well except at the end of DOA4 and during DOAX2), Hayate is like one of those idiotic tradition keepers, so basically he has almost no free spirit of his own, so he has a very very very very very very very very very crappy life which he doesn't see (Akuma should really just come down and whipe out his whole village if you ask me), and Hayabusa is the stereotypical badass ninja, and everybody is all like "HE'S SO COOL! CAUSE HE'S A NINJA!" FYI there are other ninja's in fighting games! like Strider Hiryu for example. All you mindless Ryu Hayabusa lovers should get slapped hard across the face, just cause he's a ninja doesn't mean he's cool or can kick a**.
And alot of my favorite characters are being bashed here, and alot of you bash for absolutely no reason (Zack, Helena, Leon, Gen Fu, Ein, Brad Wong, and a few others but they weren't bashed),
god I have one thing to say to all of you, Have a reason before you hate something, "Oh I hate Gen Fu cause he's old" Yeah you're gonna get old too dipshit, "I hate Zack and Brad Wong cause they are too cheap" they are part of the game, and don't be angry because you don't have the intellect to counter cheapness, or realize thats how many unbalanced games are played (Ahem Marvel vs Capcom 2), "Leon sucks cause he wears a towel on his head" what the hell kind of reason is that? he's a commando! it keeps the sweat out of his face and neck!. Well I think you get my picture.

Fighting-wise, Ein, Helena, Lei-Fang, and Zack. Character-wise, only Tengu.

I really don't hate any of the characters.. I believe they all have a place in the game and that shouldn't change.. A lot of people hate Bass because he's fat and big and like the all american biking bad a** father, but he's really cool and without him Tina's place in the tournament is pretty much useless and vice-versa.. fighting wise my worse character is probably Bayman and Leon (and i dont get how he's italian yet wears a turban and travels in deserts with camels). My favorite character is Lei-Fang cuz she aint too fast nor too slow and she has good moves, but easy to spot combos, plus her counters do lots of damage! ^-^
I also realized that all the ninjas are vastly overrated as of character and how Ayane can change moods when she's around Ryu and Hayate.. but Ayane is my second best character and i LOVE her! but seriously they are all fun...
Move wise though.. my most hated character is Ryu Hayabusa ((sorreh buddeh Hayabusa1988 )) but he has really cheap moves in DOA 4 and he is quite the annoying combo-er.. but he is ok and has an important place in the game. so yeh. blaugh
