Born into a realm without time Nine served in his youth as a guardian of time. The elder council of his world permitted him to travel throughout time. He traveled to many places far and wide training several students in several worlds. Eight and Six included. However personal duty drew Nine back to his home causing him to abandon all of his students. His father had arranged for Nine to be wed and Nine could not protest, at least not while maintaining his honor. The wedding went well and after a year or two of married life disaster struck. Nine, who had grown to love his wife dearly, had become aware of a plot to take control of the realm and exterminate all other realms who tried to prevent the rule of a realm without time. Worst of all the plan had been pioneered by his own father Lucian. nine rose to the council room where his, and his wife's father awaited with their grand scheme nearly complete. In a lust for power Ten's father turned on Lucian and was quickly killed but the distraction had bought Nine enough time to seize the world orb from his father. A orb that powered everything within their world and Nine destroyed it. As he smashed the orb into the ground three shards embedded themselves into Nine's ankle. The orb erupted, first releasing a blast that numbed everything in the realm, then a second wave of fire that washed over the entire realm killing all life, and then a third blast that tore the realm apart. Rumor holds that there are some remnants of the realm that were blown into other worlds but Nine was never able to find one. As for Nine himself, the shards buried into his ankle preserved his mind and as the ashes of his body were scattered, so was his mind.

Thousands of years past with his ashes slowly drawing together until finally they had reassembled into his body. He awoke in a foreign land without memories of what had been done. Little did he know that the land he was in would one day become the Zaibatsu. Nine lived in peaceful curiosity for centuries, unaware of who he was or what he could do. He found work in the Zaibatsu as a tanner and smith. no one every wondered why he didn't age becomes he moved around the Zaibatsu too often. One day he attended a tournament the Zaibatsu was holding only to witness a massacre. Hundreds were butchered and killed by an army lead by two bothers. One of the two was his younger self. Time travel had made such a thing possible. It was seeing his younger face that pulled Nine's memories back and with them came the pain. Nine remembered everything that had happened, everything he had seen and done. He had no buffer. No shock to protect him as the sense of loss overcame his body. He shut down for months. The months turned to years and as the Zaibatsu recovered from the attack Nine did not. He left not long after the zaibatsu's official reformation.

In the centuries that Nine spent wandering he did many things. He hid many things, saw many futures, and went into even more. eventually the burden passed and Nine returned to the Zaibatsu only to find both of his students warped into men by the causalities of wars. Eight and Six had no need for him now and Nine tried to leave them be. Circumstances arose where Nine could no longer sit by and watch as eight lead the Zaibatsu into darkness and so the master faced the student. Realizing he could not willingly kill a man he had trained for so long, Nine allowed Eight to kill him. Nine's body regenerated after the murder in a realm far away. His death had been brutal and something had gone wrong with his regeneration. Nine came closer to actually dying that he had ever before and that was when she came back to him.

His wife, Ten, found Nine's body and nursed him back to health. She explained that she too had survived the destruction of their world and had tried to contact him before only to find he did not remember her. Ten had stayed away to spare Nine the pain. However when she had heard that Eight had killed him Ten refused to sit idly. For a while the two were happy together and they had a son whom they named Eleven. Nine trained Eleven and taught him about the world, cementing a bond that the two could not share with any other and no other than those two could understand it wholly.

Yet again disaster rose and Nine was torn from his family. Eight had set out to found a new empire to replace the one that he had given up and to do so he needed a scared jewel. A jewel that Nine had hidden centuries before. Eight took Nine from his family and Nine allowed it because he believed he could still save his former student. He was wrong. The war began and thrived due to Nine allowing Eight to find the jewel. Alas the war was finally ended when Eight and Six seemingly killed each other. It was later revealed that Six had survived but no one has heard from Eight ever since.

Sixteen years passed where Nine had exiled himself from the world. Instead he sought out and killed all threats before they had become threats. He became the monster that would end all monsters but one slipped through his grasp. During his self imposed exile Nine and Ten found strain within their relationship causing Ten to abandon him and follow a homicidal woman named Gyokuen. It was when Nine heard that Ten had slaughtered thousands of innocent people that Nine returned for his love. Gyokuen responded with anger and the two clashed. Durring their battle Gyokuen performed a ritual to summon a beast she knew as the Medium. A beast Nine had sealed away during one of his ventures to the past during his sixteen year exile. However something went wrong and a far more dangerous being was summoned. Nine's father had returned to the earth. In a single blow Lucian struck both Nine and Gyokuen down. Capturing Gyokuen while Nine escaped. Nine was not safe for long before his father imprisoned him as well. Eleven took it upon himself to become Lucian's spymaster and secretly worked to free his father. Months passed before nine was finally free again. Nine began working on a prison for his father before he learned of the truth about their world his father had hidden from him. Nine was saddened for a time but also prompted to act as he learned his father had a blade that could kill anything, including one of their kind. To protect his son and wife who Nine felt were growing distant from him, the number warrior challenged his father to a duel. The battle raged throughout the throne room but in the end Lucian stood victorious. Though his father pleaded with him and begged for Nine to stop fight and run. To stop rebelling and live in peace with his family. Nine refused to stop. He refused to allow Lucian to live with a weapon that put his wife and son at risk. As Lucian begged Nine simply said "I will never stop." So, having forced his father's hand. Lucian drove the blade forward into the heart of his son. One motion that ended the life of a man without time. Rumor has it, that his death was not that cut and dry. Some claim he is not dead, but no one has seen anything other than his body lying inside the tomb. No one can prove that he lives and so no one will ever accept that he might still be around.
