"I've heard about places like these! They practically radiate with an enigmatic sense of wonder. Each room can have a different view, with different weather and everything! It's seemingly random, but it usually matches the atmosphere of those within... Something is a little weird, though. No matter where you leave the building from, you always wind up back at the front door."

Dorm Tarus is a single floor dorm. It has a small living area, dinning room, and kitchen. Along with that they have a cozy library for dorm mates to read in with natural sunlight coming through the windows. The living area is connected to five bedrooms, three being quite cozy, and the other two have considerable space, and are considered master bedrooms. The bathrooms are connected to each room.

Shall I tell you a joke?

╔══════════════════════════╗

Kieran held her breath- why you possibly didn't ask, well it was because of the dust inhalation of course!- as she was teleported yet again that night. When she opened her eyes, she saw a pristine room around her and her lips parted in silent astonishment. The indent in the white wall was based with a beautiful brown, and small vases sat atop the ledge. The bed was adorned with brown sheets with imprints of blue and green, and the entire room was so large Kieran thought she could do her normal exercises in it.

She stretched out her hands happily, twirling around and doing a quick high kick, and planted back on her feet happily. She didn't knock anything over, hell she was nowhere near doing that, and she smiled as she looked over to her cat lying idly on the bed.

Now off to see the teammates, she thought as she balled her fists and walked exaggeratedly to the door. After opening it, her green orbs widened in awe as she saw a beautiful library and a very open exterior. She could really get used to this!

First they were in the train, then they were in the dorm, and then they were... "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Stevie." Cory mumbled, staring at the large room he was in. The main colour scheme seemed to be blue, which he was perfectly fine with. There were plenty of places to put things here and there, but it didn't look like he'd be able to tinker all that well in such a small space. He'd probably need to find a good space to work out of, if he was going to stay sane. He quickly unpacked Stevie's food and water before letting her out, then put his few things away and set up the picture of his mom before leaving the room with a satiated mutt in tow. He explored for a just a little bit, but he heard another door open and walked towards that, seeing the jokster from earlier admiring the area. He grinned widely and said, standing a few feet behind her, "Why do ambassador's never get sick?" He asked as Stevie walked up and sniffed at the girl's legs. They still hadn't been introduced properly, but he felt a joke was in order first.

"What do you call a belt made out of watches?"

"Awesome, that's what you call it."

Proceeding down the hall, Kulden was casually making his way to find his new dorm. This would be the first time for him being in a school, as he had mainly been home schooled most of his life. While the young man was nervous and eager about this new part of his life, his face certainly didn't show it. In fact he looked a bit more annoyed then anything. He always looked so serious, but it just happened to be a trait he has had sense his earlier years. Nothing much could be done about it. Only taking a little bit of time he found the dorm he was meant to be in. He adjusted the bag on his shoulder looking up the door as he cleared his throat.

"Well here it goes." Kulden softly told himself before he braced the handle. Opening the door he was met with a lovely modern style living room. He slowly entered immediately hearing the voice of some one as he did. Turning to the source he saw another young man with tan skin, and a girl with brown hair. As well he noticed a small little dog at the girls legs. It must of been one of their pets, but he wasn't going to question it further. Instead he became more focused on the question that was asked. "Why do ambassadors never get sick?"....he swore he had heard that one before. It only took a moment before it came to him. "Wouldn't that be diplomatic immunity?" He spoke up in response to the question that wasn't even directed towards him.

◢◣◥◤◢◣◥◤◢◣◥◤◢◣◥◤◢◣◥◤◢◣◥◤

Layla hadn't felt good after her second teleportation that day. So after a brief wave to her new friends she had ducked into her room for the night. She hadn't really thought about it till just now, but she had climbed up into her bed. With the morning light trickling in through the window Layla got a good glimpse of the purple room she resided in. Her bed was up a ladder on top of a bunch of dresser drawers, and there was a desk just below her window with a bookshelf next to it's right. She was rather impressed with how the room looked and smiled to herself as she sat got down from her perch.

She felt bad for not talking to anyone yesterday, but something had been wrong with her stomach after traveling through space like that. In fact, something felt wrong right now too. She glanced around her room and saw her pet carrier on the ground. She instantly knew what was wrong. "Charles?" She bent down by his cage and opened it up, but all she found was a lifeless little lump of flesh inside. "Oh no! Charles! My magic must've stopped working on you too!" She pulled out her little ghoul and cradled him in her arms. She needed to revive him, but how?

She glanced around the room and quickly grabbed one of her bags full of medical equipment before dashing out into the kitchen area. She set Charles down on the kitchen counter and began digging through the cupboards until she finally pulled out a jar of pickles. She grinned and set the jar down before digging around in her bag for everything she needed. First, she pulled out a screwdriver and went over to the toaster. Which she made sure was unplugged before she busted open one side of it so that she could see the wires and electronic parts she didn't really know much of. She took out her own set of copper wires and broke the ones in the toaster and tied them to the ends of hers. There were small needles on the ends of her wires which she stabbed into Charles's chest, and then dug some more in her bag.

After a minute of searching she pulled out a long thin tube with a needle on the end. After Layla got that out she dug through the drawers some more and found plastic wrap, which she put over the top of the pickle jar after opening it. Things were moving along nicely. And she just needed to put the vinegar IV into Charles and then spark him up. Everything was working out nicely. She made sure the plastic on the pickle jar was secure with a rubber band and tipped it sideways up on top of the fridge. She then poked one end of her little IV tube in through the jar and then stuck the hollow needle end into Charles's wrist. To be honest she was a little frazzled right now. She didn't want to have to go through school without her best friend.

With a deep breath she went over to the wall socket and waited till she saw the vinegar from the pickle jar flowing down into Charles before plugging in the toaster again. The power to the socket was off, but with the flip of a switch, that would change really quickly. Calming her nerves she held one hand on the switch and another over Charles as she began to mutter her incantation. She could feel the whispers of the necrotic energy in the air. It flowed off of Charles and even off of herself, it was everywhere, and she could use that power. With the end of her spell Layla flipped on the lightswitch. The power flickered for a moment as a charge was sent through her wires into the little Ghoul's body, and it hopped a little as the power surge went through his little heart. Layla turned it off and began chanting again, and then flipped the switch making the power stutter once more in the dorm.

"Why couldn't the lifeguard save the hippie?"

"Where do skunks go to pray?"

In the almost deafening silence that followed the answer to Cory's joke, Stevie decided it was the best time to howl. Cory scrambled to her and wrestled the small animal to the ground with a yelp from both of them, then apologized for the noise. The dog brought his attention to what time it was, and what time it felt like to him, and he sighed with how tired he was physically. It may have only been mid-evening, but back in Mexico Cort would have been awake all night and then some. He properly greeted Kieran and the new guy, then bid goodnight as he carried his mutt into his chosen room. Kieran, Layla, and Kulden; he was excited to get to know everyone better.

-Slept through the day-

And then, it was evening again. Cory had slept so long, and so well, he hadn't even noticed Stevie trying to wake him up throughout the day. She'd taken care of her business on the newspapers he had set down hours before, but her drinkable water was running low. He rolled out of the bed and landed on the floor with a heavy thud, just as the electricity flashed. For a second he wondered if he had done that, but when it happened again without so much as a sneeze from him. And then, he heard what sounded like the breaker being tripped. The lights in his room went out and Stevie yowled, though by a hiss of her master she quieted down. He grabbed his tool belt and unhooked the flashlight, peeking around his room for any immediate clues. Finding nothing, he went to go find the breaker. He checked the kitchen first, which actually led him right to where he needed to be. "Layla?" He called hoarsely, throat dry from how long he had slept. "What happened to the power?" He asked, moving his way closer as Stevie bounded along beside him, sniffing at the counter where the toaster was.

"What do you call a belt made out of watches?"

"Awesome, that's what you call it."

After several attempts that led Layla all the way into the evening she gave it one last go. With the flip of the switch she put real force into her words, "Duna, amin ai Mellon!" With that Charles's body gave a little jump and then he sat upright yelping. The power in the entire dorm stuttered and died, and Layla was left standing in nearly total darkness before Cory came in with a flashlight.

Layla looked at the boy with a deep flush in her cheeks; her lips slightly parted at a loss for words. Charles was smoking a little, and he looked back and forth between Cory and her expectantly. Finally she stammered, "I-I.. uh... used a toaster t-to defibrillate Charles." Charles then raised his arms in celebration. "Grawwrr!" Layla should have guessed that this might happen. The last time she had revived Charles she had started a fire with a VHS player. She was really embarrassed that Cory had to wake up to this, but all in all she was relieved that she was able to bring Charles back. She didn't know what she would have done without him to accompany her throughout the school year.

For the most part, Cory only stared in wonder passed Layla at her small creature. He remembered the night before when people started panicking that Layla had been startled as well, but he didn't really catch on all too well that it was Charles who was negatively affected. His eyes flicked to Layla's as a slightly maniacal grin spread across his face in the dark. "That is wicked cool." He said, whispering less as there was no sign of a threat. Stevie barked in appreciation, though her face clearly said that she wanted to take a n** at Charles' feet. "I didn't think a toaster would be able to force enough energy for anything like that. You've just gotta show me how!" He laughed, making his way around the counter to get a better look at the newly revived creature. As morbid as he may seem, the little guy was pretty cute when you couldn't see all the obviously dead bits.

"Aha, right. Lights." He muttered, holding his flashlight with his teeth as he dug around in his tool belt, then pulling out another, slightly smaller light source. "You can have this, if you're nervous of the dark. You didn't happen to see the power box anywhere during the day, did you?" He asked, turning the extra flashlight on and setting it next to Charles. He turned to see if it was anywhere closely visible, and thankfully it was. "Never mind, I gotcha." He said, making his way over to it quickly. It looked a littler different than the ones in Connecticut or Mexico City, but he figured he could manage to at least get some of the lights back on. He hoped the headmaster wouldn't get too mad at Layla, though he supposed he could always be the hero and claim he was up to something mischievous. He had that look about him, so people usually believed him when he said he was up to no good. Holding his flashlight in his mouth once more, he aimed it at the labels and such so he could see exactly what he was doing, and hopefully not mess with the system of the whole school.

"What do you call a belt made out of watches?"

"Awesome, that's what you call it."

With a sudden flick of the power going off caused Kulden to awake. He opened his eyes to a dark room. Rolling over to his side he noticed that his alarm clock was not even giving the time. A small sigh escaped from under his breath. "Second day and the power goes out." He told himself right before he forced himself to his feet. Closing his eyes, he held them shut for a second so that he could adjust to the darkness. As he opened them again he could see a little better in the room. Slowly the boy inched his way to the door and left to the living room.

Once out in the main living room he could hear the voices of his fellow teammates. The shadows from a light source let him out to find Cory and Layla. Cory had the light in his mouth from the looks of it and was messing with something. Just like that some of the lights appeared to come back on in their dorm. As they did Kulden was blinded for just for a moment. "Gah! Too bright!" He exclaimed as he covered them. Slowly removing his hand his vision returned. "So...then did one of you cause this?' He asked out of curiosity.

Kieran had her nose stuck in her book as she entered her dorm, no longer thinking of dear Josiah, and found as she opened the intricate door she was thrust into total darkness. Closing her book quickly, she unsheathed her sword out of habit, hopeful it was not another training session as her mind dredged to her father and the many routines. But no, she reasoned, lowering her sword after seeing bits of light as she walked further into the dorm, father was not here.

The lights flickered onward, then died again and Kieran could make out Cory trying to fix the power, a fluttered Layla, and Kulden standing around the kitchen area. Sheathing her sword, hopeful no one saw the altercation, her leather boots clicked across the ground as she walked over to her teammates.

"What has happened here? Cory, do you require assistance with the power?"

Layla was glad that Cory had come to the rescue. She probably could have tried to figure out the power box herself, but she most likely would have made things worse. Charles picked up the extra torch and proceeded to stare directly into the beam without hesitation and gave a little cry as he fell off the counter blinded. Layla shook her head and picked up the torch herself so that he wouldn't mess with it any further and went over to help Cory see. She didn't feel as bad when he called her way of resuscitating Charles cool, but with the boy Kulden here now she felt a fresh bout of shame.

"It was kind of my fault... I'm sorry you had to wake up to this." With a small frown she looked over to Kieran in the dark and apologized to her as well. "Sorry you had to come in to this as well." She once more focused on having her light over the power box to make things easier on Cory. "I guess I can show you how I did it once the powers back on. It wasn't too complicated. The only reason a toaster was enough power was because Charles is so tiny. Anything bigger and I'd need more power."

For a moment Layla's mind went to her work. Maybe this school could provide a larger source of power. That coupled with learning more about her magic; her aura, she might just be able to accomplish some amazing things while staying here. The thought's made her cheer up a little, and after a few more moments it looked like Cory had the power on for good this time, and the kitchen was flooded with florescent light once more.

Cory didn't even take his eyes off the circuits and breakers as Kulden and Keiran entered the room, though he did wave with a free hand before his hands zipped through the electrics again. He wasn't fast enough to claim responsibility for Layla as she took it on herself, but there wasn't much he could do about that. With a final click the lights had turned on, and Cory grinned widely with his success. "Nailed it!" He whooped, giving a spin of victory and tucking his flashlight into his belt, giving a snap of his fingers to emit even more excitement. "Thanks for offering, if Little Miss Science has a mishap with the power, I'll be sure to take you up on it." He laughed, resting his elbow and leaning on Layla's shoulder. They were the same height, so it made him look rather silly. He just kept on grinning though, as Cory was prone to do. "That'd be sweet actually. I haven't explored anywhere, but I haven't seen any mechanical or science rooms." He said, a tidbit more subdued and quieter. He didn't want to shout in the poor girl's ear after all. "I just woke up myself to all this, but I usually wake up pretty early in the day. Probably jet lag... If we've got the energy, wanna waste the rest of the night getting to know each other?" He asked, casually getting friendlier and friendlier, hoping they wouldn't be scared off by it.

During all of this, Stevie was oddly quiet; she was obviously waiting for something. And, when Kulden walked in it was obvious what she was after. She howled sloppily and trumped over to him, her tail wagging madly as she did. She barked and sniffed at his boots before looking up at him, large glassy eyes just begging for a good scratch behind the ears. Cory paid her no mind, he was rather used to her attention seeking antics.

Kulden's brow rose up as Layla responded to it being her fault. Although with the lights in there current state it would only be able to be seen when they flashed back on. It was then that the boy noticed Kieran reentering the door with sword drawn. Perhaps she was paranoid about something, but seeing with the lights flickering he could see why she would have her weapon out. His attention was turned back to Layla as she was willing to show what she did. "You don't need to show it. Just lets hope nothing is seriously busted." Just when he said that the lights came back on fully and Cory exclaimed proudly of his success. Looking up at the lights he kept his not so amused face, though in truth he was glad that they were working again.

It was then a little bark drew his attention. Kulden looked down to see Stevie at his feet. The little girl as staring up at him just begging for attention of some kind. Seeing this actually made the corner of his mouth curl up. Dogs were one thing that he did enjoy. Mainly he was smiling cause this little one was reminding him of his own pet that was currently at home. The only difference was that his was a pure bred Elkhound and this one was a mutt. Still he couldn't help but kneel down and start petting the her. While giving Stevie attention he also took a notice to his watch seeing the time. He couldn't believe how late in the morning it was already. "I am actually going to be heading out. See the campus and everything." He said aloud as he got to his feet. The elemental started towards the door. "You folks are welcome to join." He added but not stopping to get a response. Going on ahead he left through the dorm to explore the new campus.

In truth the girl wasn't tired, and as she looked out of the large reaching windows, she saw that it was suddenly light out. Had it become day time when she was not looking? Kieran was clocked in at being able to stay awake for more than four days without any signs of fatigue, and she chalked it up to that for not being in any way tired.

She looked to the rest of her teammates, hoping that Layla's strange creature was alright before going to feed her mane coon in her room. She heard Kulden saying something about exploring before classes that afternoon, and she said goodbye to her cat and left the room after packing a small bag of supplies. Saying a quick goodbye to her two roommates, she followed Kulden out of the dorm. She was itching to find every crevice of the school, and at least now she had someone to explore with.
