Hearing about incessant sand whales attacking the island, Marosa made his way to the shore line and spotted she ships with canons on them. There were a variety o weapons around that were available to use, and it seemed that the most popular weapon were ballistas - they were strewn around rather haphazardly, but there was still a good chunk of them to use.

One of the sand whales leaped out from the bank and landed beside one of the ships, barely missing it and sending the gancanagh's nerves on end. He was a bit frazzled, but picked up five ballistas and ran over to the cannon, dropping two no the way and cursing to himself.

There was no time to pick them up. He would have to make due with what he already had in his hands - the faerie would try to make the most of it.

Shoving them in a cannon with as much ease as he could manage, he aimed the weapon at the sand whale and fired, hitting it successfully in the side and making the whale moan in dismay and outrage.

He stared at the large whale - it was massive in size, as large as the broad side of a barn, easy to hit - but it could also do a massive amount of damage. That was the main part that Marosa wanted to avoid, and there was a slight fear snaking around in the back of his mind that he wouldn't be able to avoid any part of the whale, no matter how limber he was.

Attempting to duck as the whale made a second pass, he winced as one of its fins slapped against his back, making him fall to the ground and curl slightly in pain. He realized that he couldn't stay there, as much pain as he was in, so he crawled over to the balllistas and slowly but carefully chose five more ballistas, making sure to stay under the whale's radar as he crawled back to the cannon and loaded the ballistas into it.

The pain was massive, but the gancanagh gritted his teeth and let out a low hiss, refusing to give into it. No... this whale had to go.

Kneeling in front of the cannon, he aimed once more and fired at what he thought was the weakest spot, aiming towards its eye. Two of the ballistas hit, but the rest soared past the eye and shaved off the fin with ease, making the whale scream in fury before it retreated from where the ships where. The fin landed on the sand and Marosa stared at it for a long moment before realizing that this was an item that could possibly be used... so he crawled over and picked it up, his breath shallow and short as he tried to will the feelin of pain away.

His back was still sore from where his wings had gotten ripped off, and the faerie was all too aware of how delicate it was at this moment. He hadn't anticipated so much fighting with monsters on this particular trip, more worried about getting to hob level than with the current choices of lack thereof, and he finally began to understand what his two loves were talking about when he ewent headlong into s**t like this and didn't think about the consequences.

He owed them another apology, shoulders slumping as he stood up.

Marosa only hoped he could make it up to them, he thought, as he limped towards the center of the island where most of the villagers were.
