THE BREAKDOWN Curious, are you?
Basically, I'll be doing 2 unedited deities this month!
One male and one female who are SIBLINGS.
And the fun part is - they're basically semi customs
That's right: you submit a palette, inspirational images and songs, and voila!
So, what's the catch?
You have to get a partner, chose the domain, and write a character analysis!
(Please be sure to check the Domain List and the last couple of pages of the Claim Thread.)
I'm not asking for a novel or anything, but analyses must be a MINIMUM OF 300 WORDS.
Since this is a partner contest ONLY ONE PARTNER POSTS THE FORM.
These two will be siblings, please discuss with you partner and HAVE SHARED TRAITS. RULES 1.) Follow all shop rules and the ToS, along with the event rules.
2.) This contest is FREE.
3.) If you edit your post, please make a note in red with the date you edited it on at the top.
4.) Anyone is allowed to enter, regardless of whether or not they have a god/goddess.
5.) Please remove your sigs. Failure to do so will result in your entry being ignored.
6.) Discouraging anyone from entering will result in being disqualified from the event.

Proposed Shared Traits: Just…similar markings in general. We like gill slit markings, colored toes, colored wing tips, but that’s just a general thing.
Character Analysis:
Haere always expected himself to be a traveler, and always told people that he would be going on grand and exciting adventures in the future. He never wanted to settle down in one place, he said; he wanted to travel the oceans far and wide, gathering tales and bringing them back. But years later, he found himself in one place, a place he loved and enjoyed…and ashamed of such. Haere is ashamed that he never completed his dreams, and he is ashamed that his love of a single place has changed his hopes and dreams for the future. This is perhaps because Haere has always defined himself by his sister. He has always intended to be something that she is not, and the idea that they are more similar than they think bothers him. It makes him feel as if he is not an individual enough from her. Do not get the wrong idea, though—Haere loves his sister! He just does not want to be seen as a male version of her.
Haere has opened a bar on his underwater mountain, where he entertains underwater travelers from near and far, helping them get back in their paws again, and listening to their stories. He writes letters home constantly to Keone, where he passes off his patron’s stories as his own. Then he passes off his sister’s stories as his own to the bar patrons! It is a bit of a mess to be sure. So he is more than slightly dishonest, and of course he is ashamed of this. He hopes never to have to see his sister in real life, and he is fairly certain he never will have to. After all, she stays at home, right? He is the traveler, right? So he will not have to admit to her how he has lied to and deceived her and his friends…right?

Character Analysis:
While Haere always wanted to grow up and see all the oceans of the world, Keone has always been content with the ebb and flow of the tides around where they grew up. While she will travel a little ways out to the small pockets of reef growth that spring up away from the main reef, she finds herself to be very content to stay, for the most part, in one spot.
She makes her home on a floating platform anchored above her reef and she has outfitted it with all the necessities one would need for a life at sea like water purification equipment and a hydroponics garden. While she is very self sufficient and confident in her abilities, she often wonders if her brother finds her boring. Her stories do not seem very interesting to her, while his are always full of adventure and daring. The most excitement she gets is when a storm blows through, or has to keep the resident sharks in check, or occasionally a jam session with the musicians from the local aquatic colony, as Keone is a talented vocalist.
She does often wander how the dolphins she has take him letters always know where to find him, but they are dolphins and she figures he might just have a drop-off point he informs them of to take his mail from her. Still there are times...
She is glad her brother's travels seem to go well, despite the messes he gets into, and would very much like to see him again some day if he were willing to see her.

Character Analysis:
Samhain at times feels like an odd ball. She can see ghosts and other such things that aren’t always on the visible plane and growing up often didn’t have many friends because they all thought that she was lying. However she tried to take it in stride and developed a bit of mischievous streak, tending to prank unsuspecting people. Sometimes she can end up going overboard, but if she does end up offending anyone she instantly apologizes.
However there is also a darker side of Samhain, since after all not all bats are fruit or insect bats. When it gets to around the full moon sometimes she’ll get a need to drink blood, and develop a sort of dark and sadistic side. Most of the time, she’s generally friendly and a bit of a snuggle bug.
Samhain also has a huge sweet tooth and will often much on Guava or berries or other such fruit much like the animals in her domain. However what she really loves is gummy candy and will always seemingly have some on her. Depending on how close you are to her, she might even share.
Because she can see things others can’t Samhain can come across some times as absent minded, and a bit of an airhead, but most of the time she’s paying attention to something you can’t see. Samhain is extremely intelligent and quickly adaptable a trait she’s honed in order to get away with some of her bigger pranks.
Samhain is Nocturnal and her eyes are highly sensitive to bright light, and like most of her domain she can see quite well in the dark. She gets easily freaked out at things that unnerve her (like spiders) and due to only growing up with her brother as a companion she can be slightly possessive and a bit territorial because its taken her so long to get friends.

Character Analysis:
Damian loves scaring people; he does everything he can to make his surroundings scary to all who enter. Even when he isn't actively using his powers, sometimes they leak out, ghosts manifesting and bringing household items to 'life'; flickering lights, banging doors, chairs sliding across the floors in the middle of conversations. Honestly, he doesn't even try to reign the leaks in, loving the surprised looks that flash across other's faces. Even friends are not safe from his silly little pranks; in fact, they're more likely to be gifted with some haunting in their homes.
Damian also has a huge protective streak towards his sister. She had been teased quite a bit growing up and Damian has been taking people on since they were kids. No one is allowed to touch her, as far as he's concerned. And, boy, will it have to be a brave soul who tries for her. They'll definitely have to go through a few scares to get his approval. Apart from his sister, he's protective of his friends and of small children and animals. He might love a harmless jump scare or two, but any real threat is met with a snarl and being given an overdose of his power. Nothing says 'stay back' like the house suddenly filling with ghosts and turning on you. Of course, this show of power doesn't come without price; Damian will be almost completely drained for the rest of the day. Only able to summon a weak spirit or two.
Fall is his favorite time of the year. More and more people are getting into the scary spirit, Halloween is just around the corner, the veils between the living and the dead are thinning, and his powers grow. The thinner the veils, the more ghosts he can summon to haunt the houses around him and scare the living daylights out of friends and strangers alike. Not to mention the hot chocolate, the warm fires, and curling up with a book or two with his sister, listening to the rain.

Proposed Shared Traits: Maybe they both have multi-colored eyes, or wings, or gems, or chopsticks, or all four. They could be identical or inverted. Potential patterns could be simple geometrics, with Sati's being more straight and Lochan's being more curved. They could have a little of each other's markings, like Sati has a few curved lines and Lochan has a few straight ones.
Character Analysis: Sati is a reasonable and clear-headed person who lives in a world of predictability. Everything has a process, a formula derived from facts that guarantees consistent results each time you use it. Everything has a precise answer, if you just have the knowledge to discover it, and that answer will always be the same as long as the factors involved are the same. Sati is quite rational when it comes to her reactions and it can make her seem a bit emotionless or shallow. She can actually get very involved and is capable of great depths of emotion, but she tends to process it all internally rather than let any of it show externally.
Sati can be a bit of a control freak and does like to follow a routine, but she handles the unexpected and bizarre turns of events with a commendable amount of aplomb that many strangers wouldn't credit her for. She enjoys creature comforts and has mastered a variety of household skills such as cooking, cleaning, and sewing. While others might find these tasks a chore or time-consuming, they give Sati a sense of contentment and happiness; the formulas for a comfortable life. She does have a few rules when it comes to house guests, such as taking off shoes placing refuse in the appropriate container, but she's a generous hostess who doesn't mind sock-covered feet on her coffee table or emptying her fridge to make a tasty snack.
She is also far more patient that most might believe. She'll let children vent their fears and teach them little tricks to help them realize there's no monster under the bed and nothing to be frightened of. She'll gladly help anyone struggling through emotional turmoil, giving advice or devising a plan that will help them get back on their feet.
Sati's relationship with her brother is...unique. She tries her best to follow conversations that are full of repeating words, dead ends, and constantly switching topics. Sometimes he starts out talking to her and will end up talking to himself, empty space, or inanimate objects. She has to watch him to make sure he eats, since he's easily distracted. Sati does the best she can and tries to find predictable patterns in Lochan's behavior, with little to show for her efforts. Still, her love for Lochan is unconditional, quirks and all, even if there are days she needs some time to herself.

Character Analysis: Lochan is unable to be pinpointed exactly. He is constantly changing, rapidly moving between emotions as fast as you can blink. One second he could be happy, the next a whirlwind of anger that suddenly teeters out into a lost and thoughtful state. He represents his domain so perfectly in the way that he is, in essence, delirious. He is consumed by his emotions and his thoughts are unable to coherently make sense, as which each thought he has processed at least three emotions during that period, making his sentences and opinions come out often contradictory and just plain nonsense.
He is not violent, usually. While his moods can lean to a more hostile side, he isn't insane in the way that results in blood-shed. It should also be noted his moods, usually, lean to one side. He'll rapidly change emotions, but typically they all stay within their respective tones. One day he'll flip between angry and aggressive emotions, the next he'll flutter through whimsical and joyful moods. Sometimes, however, the moods will mix completely. There's no pattern, so it's typically best to just adjust as he acts.
Lochan loves disorder. A pink suit with mismatched sleeves and polka dot shorts? Sign him up! Walk on-top of the ceiling (which he has the ability to due, thanks to a few of his powers) instead of the perfectly good ground? Yes! He seems to dislike order, even acting as if it repels him. He has learned to tolerate his sisters domain, but only because she is his sister. Even then, sometimes he just can't be near her, depending on how fierce his moods are that day.
Lochan is capable of feelings and responding on his own. Someone dying will cause grief, but it will be mixed with anger and morbid laughter throughout the grieving process. A joy response to something good happening will cause him to not only feel delight, but also amused and sporadic. His moods are always mixed with others. He cannot, ever, feel just one emotion. It can be frustrating for others, but for him it's all he knows!

Character Analysis: When you think of a hippie or surfer attitude, you could easily think of Morph. Morph is a very laid back Noodle, and doesn't tend to let much get to him or ruffle his feathers. He loves to read, his favorite books being romance novels and fantasies, of course, and he's got a thing for manga's too. His favorite place to be is any hot spring, or spa, or anything of that sort, and can often be found at these places with cucumber slices over his eyes and an avocado mask smeared across his face. It's good for the pores, you know! He also enjoys book stores and coffee shops, though is often asked to leave when he dazes out and makes the other customers wonder if he's insane.
When it comes to nature, Morph loves it all. From the spiders that tend to crawl around thanks to Mel to the cutest little kitty cat, Morph does his best to make sure each and every creature is as relaxed as he is~ When he's not lost in his own little world of facials and books, Morph enjoys his job to the fullest, and has a blast creating fantasies to make even the most stressed out smile. He sometimes tries it on Mel, but most of the time he just fails horribly and goes to give some puppy dreams about bones and endless yards to dig up.
As one might expect from a God of Daydreams, Morph has a tendency to act more feminine than masculine, but he is in no way ashamed of it. He's a free breeze of a man, drifting on the clouds of life... Well, until his sister blows that cloud right out from underneath his paws. Morph likes to call people pet names, like 'sugar' or 'hunny' or 'sweet cheeks', but the only pet name he calls Mel is 'creep'. He does so affectionately, though, because even though she's the only one that can make him shudder from the tip of his ears to the tip of his tail he absolutely adores her. Even if she is a little crazy...

Character Analysis: Mel is, in simple terms, nuts. She spends a good portion of her time trying to find ways to get a vibrant reaction from her brother [which she fails more often than succeeds], or comes off as creepy and an invader of personal space to those who don't know her. She likes to collect broken things just create a mass of morbid clutter, and has allowed spiders and bugs free reign of her home in an effort to horrify those who enter it.
However, she does take after her brother when it comes to being rattled; she isn't. Any efforts to try and get back at her for things she does to you will end in either her laughing or just making things progressively worse for you until you quit.
When she isn't tormenting others, she can look dazed and lost, wandering like a ghost through her home and making the pictures hanging on the walls lean from being crooked to the left to crooked on the right. She has no interest in mortals, as far as conversation, seeing them more as objects for experiments with her creative nightmares and trying to find each and every person's "ultimate fear", though she's never cruel should one attempt to approach her; she'll more often baby-talk them or never take what they say to heart. Of course, since more noodles are born every day, her job is never over, and therefore her dream job never meets an untimely end.
Regardless, she's overall nice enough, though maybe not someone you want to look to for guidance or as a goddess, because her maturity is no better than most and she's more likely to hinder someone than to help them; whether its through her own fault or not is debatable. Oh, and don't use a nightlight. She will make a beeline for you if you use a nightlight to sleep.

Alright!
So this was a lot harder than I thought!
You guys all had some pretty interesting entries/concepts.
However, there can only be one!
(Or, in this case, two.)
So, without further ado - Congratulations!
Your entry with Haere and Keone really caught my eye!
I'm excited to sea (puns. puns everywhere.) how this brother/sister duo will interact.
I'll start working on them immediately!
