The 6th Division handles all of Gotei 13’s internal affairs, such as monitoring shinigami activity and handling any disturbances from other shinigami. They are responsible for apprehending shinigami that breaks Soul Society laws and also detaining them until Central 46 has given their verdict in the matter. Their division has the most holding cells, which is used to detain criminal offenders until they are judged.
Description of Division: The 6th Division’s headquarters looks almost like a small Japanese castle. The back of the Division has a fairly large Japanese garden complete with cherry blossoms and a koi pond; many members come out here to relax after training. The largest room in the Division is the Zanpakutou sparring room, while the only room on the top floor, secluded from everything else, are the Captain's chambers.
Of course the first foundation of a relationship is in one's greeting. If a shinigami can't meet even such a simple expectation, they could get kicked out of the Gotei 13. The 6th division encourages always using proper greetings.
The 6th Division also has their own soccer team.

Motto: "If we do not abide by the rules, then who will?"
Moth finishes his work on three shinigami. In the middle of the division headquarters, he leaves the bodies open to view. Pinned on the corpse of one of the unfortunate soul reapers' is a note stained in blood yet still legible. The note reads:
Blood. Scattered everywhere across the middle of the headquarters. His eyes dimmed to a flash of light beamed across what was visible. The corpses of 3 of his squadmates lying helplessly and lifeless on the flooring. Words couldn't even form from Dotsu's mouth. All he could think about was the idea of when this could have happened...right under his and even the captain's nose.
Stepping to one of the corpses that Dotsu knew a bit more than the others, the outside appearance of him was cold and serious as if the sight itself bothered him very little. But on the inside, the Shinigami was boiling. He, a Vice Captain, somehow did not find any indication that could've led to this. Not once at all, and now they're dead. That's officially on his hands. Their deaths needed answers, they needed retribution. He wanted to roar but he kept his fortitude. The desire for vengeance was there, only to spur out in moments.
Looking over the bodies, Dotsu came across a note that was smeared with blood. A note with a single word. A single name, his name. Clear as the skies itself a note was made out for him. Exactly what did it mean? Likely it was obvious, whoever did it had a target and it Dotsu himself. Almost immediately, his hand crushed the note into his palm from his fingers. The dim eyes open ferociously as the inner ends pushed down into a menacing glare. A glare of a demon ready for a hunt. If this lockdown is because of Dotsu's whatever involvement, then it would be his duty to carry it out and bring justice to the cause. "I promise, I will not allow your deaths to go unavenged."

The steps had a large gait, as if the person was tall or was moving rather quickly. When the prints hit the muddy earth outside the division headquarters, they sank several inches into the muck. Clearly this person was of some heft. Nearby, dripping from the edge of a drooping leaf, was the stain of what appeared to be oil. A few broken branches indicated a clear and obvious trail, heading towards the 3rd division.
Tracing a few of his fingers across the blood, Dotsu took a quick sniff just to gauge how recent these kills were. They were quite fresh. His head tilted up to see a trail of blood leading out of the headquarters. It...it was an obvious trail yet wielded a bit of mystery behind it. Given the size of the trail, it led out into some muck in which the trail led deep. Someone of some serious size was behind this? Completely odd, but this has to be done.
Following the trail, Dotsu kept a watchful eye on the trail and his surroundings. Exactly what is the Captain doing right now? Hopefully, the Captain is apprehending everything else that is going on. Noticing the sense of oil, Dotsu had to take extra precautions.
Reitsu 43 | Speed 10 | Strength 8 | Defense 5 | Stamina 5 | Intelligence 5 | Spiritual Power 10 Osano sits in the garden of the 6th Division headquarters. He takes a swig from his gourd of sake and then rests the gourd on the ground, still holding onto it. He quietly chants a few incantations, not casting the kido but trying to work on memorizing the words. Of course, being drunk, he ends up repeating parts a lot and messing up. “Oh ruler, the mask of flesh and blood and blood, all creations of the the universe, fluttering of the winds no wait the wings, ye who bears the name of man! Release the guardian of the seas against the enemies the enemies of truth! Hadou #57: Mizu no Ryuu!” “Bone of a strangling beast no wait a straggling beast, spine, crimson crystal wait no spire, crimson crystal, disc of steel, when the wind shifts, and the emptiness ceases, let the class of lances wait the clash of lances resonate through the relinquished castle! Hadou #63 Roaring Thunder Burn!” “Spirit of Valor, grant me strength! Bougyoudo #24: Ryukin!” “Yes, got that one first try without stumbling. Well, guess I should head to the academy to try actually casting these somewhere I won’t get in trouble.” He stands up, wobbles, and leans against the wall of the garden. He then stumbles through the castle of a headquarters, out into the streets, then down the street. About half a mile down it he realizes he is going the opposite direction of the academy, turns around, and staggers in the correct direction of the academy.

He thanks him and then lays down in his bed. He hopes the Kido Corps he sent are able to alert a captain and get help against the menos on earth. He wasn’t quite ready for that level of combat it appears. The menos there are too powerful for him yet, he needs to do more training. “Indeed. Perhaps you should work on fully unlocking me? That would make you stronger, and possibly able to take on a threat like that.” “You are right. Once I recover enough, I am going to train and unlike bankai.” Osano then goes to sleep, to rest and let his wounds heal.

He gets out of bed and gets ready. He plans to spend his time training and getting stronger, so that next time he isn’t so easily defeated and forced to run. He spends some time walking around the gardens of the 6th Division headquarters, admiring the flowers and meditating a little to calm and center himself. He is still a little shook from how badly that went. He had truly thought that he was better prepared. Having calmed down and relaxed, he sets out for the Shinigami Academy to learn a few more kido.

Reiatsu 130 | Speed 20 | Strength 30 | Defense 20 | Stamina 20 | Intelligence 20 | Spiritual Power 20 Osano enters the 6th division headquarters. He heads to his room and takes a brief nap, resting after practicing kido. When he wakes up, his wounds have fully healed, beyond a few minor scratches here and there. He picks up his Zanpakuto and heads to the sparring room built in the headquarters specifically for training zanpakuto. When he gets there, he bows his head and focuses inside. “Shall we train together? Help me grow stronger, until I can stand and fight worthy of you. Worthy of the name of my blade, and that of my spirit. Come forth, Kami of the Storms! Come forth and help me tame the power of the storm! Help me harness the strength of the waves and the speed of the wind!” As Osano calls out inside of himself, Susanoo takes a moment to think. Osano seems to be truly committing himself to getting stronger like he asked, and was now asking for his help in doing so. He thinks this over, before deciding to help Osano. However, he doesn’t do it in the outside world. No, he will train Osano in his world, the world of the spirit. He pulls on Osano’s spirit, pulling him into the aptly named Storming City. Osano is surprised as he suddenly feels his spirit get pulled into what seemed like inside him, and suddenly finds himself in a city in the middle of a massive thunderstorm with powerful winds, and the nearby sea has massive waves hitting the shore. He quickly realizes that this must be the spirit world of his zanpakuto. Standing before him is Susanoo no Mikoto, his zanpakuto. He carries his own blade, a large sword with notches along the blade. “I will train you. Until you are strong enough to wield my power, you will train in here. We will fight, and you will grow stronger. You will learn to wield my power, and become strong enough to do so. Prepare yourself.” With that, Susanoo launches himself at Osano, lightning and wind covering and trailing behind his blade. Osano manages to parry the attack before he is hit, and leaps back to avoid any follow up strike. He then readies himself, assuming the chudan no kamae kendo stance. He watches his spirit assume a similar stance. At the same time, they both bow to each other, then lunge at each other. Osano twists out of the way of Susanoo’s blade, realized the longer reach gave it the superior lunge. He goes to slash at Susanoo’s side as he passes, but Susanoo shifts his stance and the sword just barely misses him. They each slide to a stop and turn back to face each other. Before he even fully has his footing, Susanoo unleashes a wind slash at Osano, and the wall of wind slams Osano back, nearly off the edge of the roof that they had landed on. Osano charges forward, and they each trade slashes and lunges, each parrying the other and neither landing a blow. Eventually, Osano becomes winded and tired, his stamina running out. Susanoo holds up a hand. “This is as far as you can go for now. Rest, train, and we will train in here again.” Osano feels himself pulled backwards and is suddenly back in the 10th division’s zanpakuto sparring room. Although he feels tired, he doesn’t feel like he is done training. Readying his zanpakuto, he releases his shikai. “Fury of the Sea and Storm, Susanoo no Mikoto!” A swirl of wind, like a small tornado, surrounds his blade. He readies a slash, taking the very aggressive judan no kamae stance, the stance of flame and aggression in kendo. He then swings his blade down, shouting as he does. “Susanoo no Mikoto, slam forth!” A wall of wind slams forth from the blade, smacking the far wall and shaking it some. Osano practices until he is completely worn out, then retires to his room. He polishes and cleans his blade, before setting it in a stand designed specifically for it. He climbs into bed, and quickly falls into a deep sleep, recovering his energy and stamina for more training the next day. He plans to continue training until he has unlocked his bankai.

He felt like training, not socializing. He enters the training room built into the division headquarters and takes off his shoes. He gives a bow to the target he will be practicing on, a habit he does not normally have but surfaces in this moment. He then steps a couple steps back before drawing Susanoo. He readies himself, then takes a blinding step that ends with the target slashed clean in half from a single swing. He does this a few more times until he is satisfied with the speed and precision. He then practices a technique designed to just completely bisect someone. Unlike the previous technique, this was a power technique, not a speed one. He just takes his sword and brings it straight down, with the force to split someone in half. He practices this move several times as well. After doing this, he heads to bed once more to rest before resuming training tomorrow.

As they walk into the division Kanda removes her tengai and examines it. Their conversation turns to Dotsu's absence. "Sir, if I might ask, where have you been all this time? Even I do not spend this much time away from the seireitei. If you do not mind my manner of asking." She frowns at the tengai's ragged state, the straw being dirtied and frayed, and dumps it into a hallway trash can. It is time for a new face cover. She casually whips off the costume and shoves it into a bag as they walk. The remaining clothes she has on resemble the kind that the second division wears, close fitting but loose enough to allow freedom of movement. She listens to everything he says, respectfully curious about his answer.
It truly had been a while since he departed away from the Sereitei. Truly grateful he was for having Byakuya Kuchiki as his Captain. Had it been anyone else, he probably wouldn't have gotten his request granted to such an extent. His thoughts channeled back to that very day of such an almost flawless murder. The attack they had to endure and the weight that he suddenly bore. It made him Dotsu extremely silent in thought, almost ignoring what Kanda had asked him. Snapping back to reality, he figured she was asking as to why he was gone for quite some time. "You weren't here when it happened, frankly there is a hinge of joy in that but. There was an attack on our division. A Ryoko found his way into the Seireitei and slaughtered our men. Left a note with my name on it. Even now I didn't know why...usually I would've arrested him but he was also chased by other vice-captains. Well, Karakura Town was also a target and his actions got us too occupied that we couldn't fully protect the town...we killed him. I had their blood coating my fingers...the burden was heavy. So I requested that I leave to train...and to understand."
Despite getting the wish granted, he only managed to achieve only half of what he wanted, even now he could not understand. Who and why. With Moth's death, it will always be a mystery. But, one thing he knew for sure, is that he would never allow that to happen again.
Kanda hesitates to reply, stopping in her tracks for a moment and then quickly catches back up. That event. She frowns deeply as she considers what was going on for her at that time. "Ah, yeah, I regret that I had not been here for the defense, but at the time of the invasion I was back in Nakamura tending to business. I did not find out until I returned." She ponders about this some more, feeling bad for asking. "I am sorry for reopening this wound for you. That was a dark day for our division, truly." She pops open the door to her office and quarters and tosses her travel bag inside then shuts it. "I am certain that we will find the culprit and make them pay." She sighs and then glances at herself in one of the mirrors another member had placed on the wall for the sake of something called feng shui, a thing that she never put stock in but did not see the point of telling them to take it down. As she stares at herself, she evaluates her appearance. She wonders if she should slip into her official uniform or stay in her original guard clothes. The patch that proudly proclaims her as a guard of the first judge is conspicuously absent. That had been removed by her upon her retirement as a condition of being permitted to continue to wear the garb. That cherished bit of honor is located in her remembrance box which is located on her desk and replaced by the sixth division's patch. "When I retired from the service of the Soul Court, I never imagined that transferring to this division would be like it is," she muses and turns towards him after she is satisfied that she is straightened out properly.
Sadly, I do not believe we will actually find out the culprit...
"Don't be sorry, it happened and I have grown from it. One thing for sure is that the Ryoka definitely had an accomplice and a motive." As Kanda went to her quarters to change into her division attire, Kesato stopped by his own quarters to see if there were any news, reports, or claims that were left behind on his desk that needed his attention. Steering away from the past in order to focus on the future. Captain Kuchiki really did handle quite a bit for him while he was absent. He took notice of some cases left on his desk and they were very recent.
I'll need to remind myself later to thank Captain Kuchiki for handling things in my place. Some of these claims, minor reports...nothing in regards to Moth.
Looking over to see Kanda show back up with her garments and patch. Speaking on her thoughts after retirement. "Yeah well, hopefully, it was a smooth transition for you." Remembering that he brought up the idea of training with Kanda to increase their skill in handling her abilities. "Let's take a patrol around the Seireitei before we begin training. It has been a while since I've been here. Hopefully not much has changed and possibly we can gain some more insights on some of these reports that came in." Finished rummaging through the reports, he placed some of the reports within his robes before attaching his own particular badge to the arm piece of his robe. "If you're ready, we'll leave now."
Kanda ties her hair up and nods. "Might as well. We will need to get back into the rhythm of things. I was away on business for my clan for long enough that I feel the desire to re-hone and sharpen my skills. Not to mention the benefits of showing face." As she speaks she sees a diminutive member of third division walk in. She is around four and a half feet tall, slightly built, and decidedly beastly features of sharp triangular ears and a furry tail. "Lady Taka-" she stops herself and clears her throat. "Toraneko-san. It has been a while since we have seen one another." She regards the shorter shinigami with interest.
"Hello, Kanda. I am glad that I get to see you about this directly," says "Ah, Vice Captain Dotsu," the feline shinigami says upon noticing him. She bows to him politely and proffers a thick manila envelope with the case number stamped on the cover. "Your division has been assisting my division in interrogations, but my division has been gathering evidence. However, I have taken this case as far as I can go and in order to maintain case integrity, I must cede it over to you for ethical reasons: the victim is my best friend, Tenth Division's Fourth Seat (whom has been forced into early retirement by her severe injuries) ..." The expression on Kanda's face looks grim as Tora looks up into her eyes and it speaks of one who is waiting for the other shoe to drop. "One of the suspects is my servant. As much as I desire to seek justice for my friend and as much as I want to protect my servant, I cannot do either one without looking biased. This would be inappropriate for an officer and certainly inappropriate for my clan. Father has already cut his ties to the fifth division and I have him in custody. The report has the details found by my team and by twelfth division's review of the evidence collected. One hitch - somebody has tampered with the security cameras in the graveyard where the attack has been determined to have taken place. The other issue is that the victim does not know who had poisoned and savagely gutted her." The look on her face reflects anger and pain. "I was there at the hospital during her surgery and afterward when she was well enough I got as much as she could recall. The details are fuzzy, but suffice to say that the list has as many as five people of interest, but two in particular that you will probably also conclude as the most likely: 'Jazz' of tenth division, who is also in custody, and Hikari of fifth division."
Kanda's grim expression flashes into agitation. "That little ..." she growls. "If he did that, he could cause a war between our two rival clans!" She takes a deep breath and calms herself. "That is a much graver situation than you indicated." She frowns as she takes the sealed file and opens the envelope. "Sir," she says to Dotsu, "I respectfully request that we handle this personally. If our interrogators and third division hasn't come to a conclusion by now," she says tapping the date that the file had been created, "then this could destabilize or fall apart without our specific finesse. I'd love to get my hands on the suspects. Perhaps my methods can get it out of them."
"Ah, ha, on that note, I'm leaving this in your hands," Tora says nervously, "As they say 'never ask how the sausage is made' and so I will make my way to my division and deal with my own backlogged case load. This case has taken far too long and there are other things that need to be addressed." She bows to them again and darts out, not wanting to hear about exactly what Kanda has planned.
Kanda blinks and says, "Oh, uh, heh, good bye, Tora-sama."
