This division is the head of Gotei 13 and the ones responsible for relaying Central 46 orders, dealing with Soul Society law and monitoring the other divisions. The captain of the 1st Division is also the head of all other captains and the leader of Gotei 13, given the rank of General Commander. Likewise, the 1st Division vice-captain is leader of the vice-captains and has authority over all vice-captains, next to their own Captain and the General Commander. This division has the least number of shinigami.
Description of Division: This is the only Division located at the center of the Seireitei; the rest are located around it in a circular pattern. The Division Headquarters is always busy and there are people constantly running around trying to get things done. Captain Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai is just as busy as any one of his subordinates looking over important issues and making sure that order and law are being kept.
The 1st Division seeks out soldiers who can serve as an example for every other division. Being assigned to the 1st Division is a great honor. The Soutaichou (Head Captain) sits calmly in the center of the assembled captains. Among the 13 Protection Divisions, the Head Captain's orders are absolute. In emergency situations, being able to make quick decisions takes guts. You need to be able to act quickly on your instincts before orders can be given. This is where the 1st Division's abilities really shine through.

xxx Quinn's heels resounded in the hallways of the first division as she headed straight for the Vice Captain's office. Click clack click clack. The sound of heels clicking rhythmically on hard surface flooring was sound to Quinn's ears. The rhythm was fast today. She reached her destination and knocked before being hurried in. "Vice Captain. Quinn Jacques, transfer, reporting for evaluation." she began, obviously wanting to be allowed to speak more freely. She was given permission and she continued on. "I am sure you've been notified of the threat in the Northern Rukongai? Does our division have men dispatched?" she asked perhaps more a bit more formally than she would have back in her own stomping grounds, but she did not want to over step her bounds here, especially with the Limiter that had been placed on her. (Part of the exchange program, practically the only down side to the system. Still worth the cost, though.) After she was answered, she saluted formally again before leaving. Not the kindest responses she'd received, but definitely not the worst it could've been. Sighing to herself, the okama ran her fingers drug her fingers across the short pink hair on her head. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get some training under her belt as the Vice Captain had suggested. Though, she had refrained from informing him that she hardly could have done any training the very first day she had come to the Soul Society. Not unless she wanted to risk placing a foot wrong right off of the bat. Reporting in to your superiors was the obvious-- No. She promised herself she would behave. With a 'hrrmph' she stormed-- Neigh. She walked out of the first division barracks with no small amount of determination and dignity in her step.

Walking along Kira would sigh heavily. Soul Society seemed like a ghost town at the moment. She wasn't sure why she was even wandering the first division but it just seemed like a good idea. Maybe she'd run into someone while here. As she walked she could only think about what could possibly be happening to cause no one to be around. Was it her fault for not knowing? Well that didn't matter. Walking along Kira kept her eyes peeled for anything off but alas it remained quiet. As she managed to walk she spotted the big meeting door in front of her which of course she couldn't enter. It was no secret that Soul Society was currently looking for some new Captains. She had 100% the confidence that she could do it. Ultimately Squad four would probably not be her final department. But well she would go with the flow. So Kira stood here, staring at the meeting door, as if lost in thought and letting time pass her by.
Tenchi sighed as he walked through the First Division. He had just returned from earth. There was something weird going on. Shinigami were missing and Hollows were… saving people? Since when did that ever happen? Not ever. He looked down at his report. Once upon a time, he was the one ordering people to paperwork for him. That seemed like a lifetime ago.
Sighing again, he looked up and noticed a girl standing in front of the conference room. He wondered why she was just standing there. Did something happen? He dropped the report into a little box next to the Vice Captain’s door. Even if he wasn’t the seventh seat anymore, the Vice Captain still looked highly of him. After his family was killed, Tenchi had begged to be demoted. He lost a great deal of his strength in that war. He wasn’t fit to be a seated officer.
“May I help you?” Tenchi asked as he got closer to the female. Maybe she was lost? Seireitei was a large place. Maybe she needed help finding her Division? “Is something wrong?”

Lost in her thoughts Kira couldn't help but let her self zone out. It wasn't often she did this but right now just seemed appropriate. Closing her eyes monetarily Kira didn't hear the man talking behind her at first. It was the second time that his voice finally registered. Hearing it Kira jumped in surprise, turning around sharply. Rubbing her head in embarrassment from her obvious nervousness Kira stuttered in reply "Oh y-you mean m-me?! nope, nope, a-all good. Just was exploring is all."
It took a few moments before Kira took a big breath and calmed herself. She then took a moment to take in the appearance of the figure in front of her. Pretty average looking man, but seemed very nice. But she couldn't help but notice he seemed a little sad, or lost in thoughts himself. Kira made it a personal rule though, to make people smile, not make them further upset so she simply sighed and decided not to ask. "Sorry, you caught me off guard. I was simply thinking really. But no matter it's nice to finally meet someone. I'm Kira Shizen, I'm currently stationed in he fourth division but have been contemplating if that's really where I'd like to be." finishing her sentence Kira would then extend her hand for a handshake.
“Just…. Exploring?” Tenchi said as he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. He listened as the girl stammered on. “I’m Tenchi Hi and I’m in First Division. If there is anything you need, by all means, ask.” Tenchi said as he glanced at the girl’s hand. He took it into his and shook it. He noticed her hand was smaller than his and very soft. Had she ever even held a sword before? Probably not, but who was he to judge?
“What do you mean?” Tenchi asked as the girl mentioned something about contemplating whether or not she would like to be in her Division. There were plenty of openings in all the divisions. “Do you need help deciding what Division you want to be in? Or possibly promote into? I don’t know about many of the Division. My mother was a former Thirteenth Division Captain and my Uncle Hoshiru used to run ninth… oh and I have another Uncle that ran Third Division.” He pondered for a moment as he racked his brain for more information. “What are you looking for? What do you want to accomplish? You could also become a Soul Court Judge.”

He bows to the captain, and then takes his seat. The captain explains that he is being promoted to vice captain, but of a different division. He is now part of the 7th Division. He will now serve under Captain Akagi Rin. Hida acknowledges his orders, and goes to his room in the barracks to collect his things. He then sets out for the 7th Division headquarters, to introduce himself to his new captain.

Kaida was making her way to the 1st division's headquarters after having just watched Kazuki take the title of Kenpachi and become the new captain of the 11th division the fight igniting a new flame inside her soul that was growing wilder and wilder with each step she took, by the time she reached the first division's headquarters the flame was becoming an inferno that was just waiting to go wild and engulf the world in its fury. The Little Dragon of the Akagi family knew that once she beat her new captain and become the captain commander that the inferno would rage and engulf her, she would be back to her old self. Now that she was inside Kaida headed straight for the captain's rooms and bangs against the door to get his attention and opens it up without waiting to be called in, she was here on a mission and nothing would stop her "I'm here to challenge you for captaincy and I'm not taking no for answer."

Bokuden was sitting down on his knees in quite meditation his Zanpakuto, Īsutansento, sitting across his lap unsheathed cold steel glinting in the dim light of candles. He did not stir or startle from the sudden loud banging that rattled the thin sliding doors of his quarters. He knew who it was before they even opened there was no mistaking The Little Dragoon no matter where she went. Her response would not come quickly in his long life he had learn the virtue of taking one's time when one could, and reacting only when needed like a lightning strike. Time would go by as he finished up the days meditation, and from his kneeling position he pushed himself up in one fluid motion sheathing Īsutansento by his side. Finally regarding the young Akagi's presence he slowly walked around the room hands crossed across his front resting within the sleeves of his kimono. "You never do take no for an answer, and I can see the great fire burning within you Kaida. I can only assume the latest Kenpachi challenge was the spark." He stood before her resting a winkled, but firm hand upon her shoulder. "So let us walk your challenge has been accepted, but it may not be so straight forward as some would think. I will judge you not only as a fighter, but most importantly as a leader I hope you are prepared for it all young dragon."

Kaida grew very more and more annoyed each second she was standing outside waiting for the captain to open the door and accept her challenge, she about to just slam the door open and drag the old man outside to fight her for captaincy but before she could do so, the door had opened and her challenge was accepted. The calmness of the first division captain was only annoying Kaida even more, she only saw it as a sign of weakness by not recognizing a tough opponent "About damn time, hurry up and take me where you want to go so I take your position already old man." The younger Akagi sister would wait for the captain to begin walking to follow him.

As he began to walk one foot in front of the other he made no point to proceed in a hurried fashion while it may not have been Kaida's style it was the Captain Commanders they could not have been more opposite, and still so similar at the same time. As he lead her through the 1st Division their procession was stopped several times as messengers flash stepped before the Captain Commander giving him quick reports, followed by orders that were made with no hesitation as he sent the messengers off again in a near endless cycle that kept the Seireitei running.
After what probably felt like an eternity to Kaida especially with the sheer number of interruptions that occupied a large portion of that time Bokuden stepped across a stepping stone path through a massive sand garden that was surprisingly well hidden within the 1st Division. The more one thought about it there made no sense how a space of this size fit inside. Reaching a center island that rose up from the raked sand a table, and two seats waited for them both a fresh kettle of tea still steaming hot. Behind both seats stood sword racks.
Making his way to one side of the table the Captain Commander reverently set Īsutansento upon his rack. Taking a seat he motioned for Kaida to do the same. "I understand your impatient Young Akagi, trust me there was a time when the simplest inconveniences would set my blood boiling, for a time many thought I would follow the path on the Kenpachis with how hot blooded I was those many centuries ago." Taking the kettle he began to pour two cups of tea for the both of them taking his time following the proper steps everyone knew the Commander was very particular about his tea. "I would seek to temper that impatience for a bit longer this is no Kenpachi challenge, and if you treat it as such I fear no one among the Seireitei would honor such actions...but do not fret I do not intend to ignore your fighting spirit for too much longer that would be of the utmost disrespect to an accomplished warrior such as yourself so humor an Old Man for but a moment longer you of all people should understand their is more to this than just fighting." Placing the kettle back he pushed the clay cup towards her end of the tables. "Now tell me what does leadership mean to you,I do not expect your thoughts on it to mimic my own I want your honest feelings on the matter that which resonates with your very soul."

Kaida followed behind Bokuden as they made their way through the 1st division, the slowness of the captain only irritating the younger Akagi sister to even greater heights, was the captain such a fool as to annoy her? Did he not realise that doing so would only bring about his removal from captain even quicker? Most people knew better than to intentionally piss off Kaida and yet that is exactly what he was doing. All the messengers showing up to give reports didn't even bother her, she was used to interruptions like this due to who her family were and Kaida knew that it was necessary to keep the Seireitei running smoothly. After what felt like forever the two finally came to a sand garden with a raised island in the middle.
The Little Dragon follows the 1st division captain up onto the island and simply stood at the other end of the table, she wasn't here to drink tea with the man or have him think he could temper her in any fashion, she was a raging inferno burning everything that dared step in front of her, the embodiment of the dragon emperor who's might couldn't be matched, she was an Akagi. Kaida waited for the man to finish talking before responding to anything he said "You really believe that people wouldn't accept me treating this as a Kenpachi challenge? Even you can't be that foolish, I only need to defeat you and then your title belongs to me whether you die in the process is irrelevant." the annoyance in Kaida's voice was obvious, the captain was testing her patience "You're right I do know there is more to this than just fighting but all I see in front of me is a man who knows he has lost before it's started and is wasting my time in the vain wish of keeping his position just that little bit longer so draw your sword and let's do this already, you can learn what leadership means to me while i beat you."

Now come show me action, and not idle threats Little Dragon, The Great Iron Dragon of the East is waiting my sword has been drawn,and ready the moment you arrived I am honestly surprised you have not realized it ." Lowering his eyes back down to the table he took the warm ceramic cup in hand bringing it up to his lips. Exhaling across the top he gently blew on the hot surface of the tea before leaning the cup back partaking in the drink just waiting for Kaida to unleash her full might he was interested to see just how much this new generation has surpassed the Old, and just how well they were carry the torch going forward.

Ryūjin no senjutsu[350]: New stat that's always active and replaces Kaida's spiritual power called [Emperor Aura] uses 50% [STR] 50% [SP]+50. Replaces all calculations using [SP] to use [Emperor Aura] instead, such as kido or comparisons. Kido techs cost an extra 6 SE to use.
Give them no quarter![400]: Each successful strike increases the power of Kaida's next attack by +40, lowers the [SPD] by -20, and reduces an opponent [DEF] by -40. This can only stack up to 5 times and if they succeed a comparison of her [STR] vs their [DEF], the [DEF] reduction is ignored.
Akagi Art Kaida Style: Kōtei doragon no fukushū[500]: Kaida stores the total damage she takes before defence reduction (this not does stop the damage from going through), all the stored damage is then used as the base attack power for the attack with a +100 to attack speed. If Kaida makes an attack before unleashing the stored damage, it's all lost.
Ritoru doragon no sadizumu[525]: Kaida can heal 105 health whenever she deals damage, this heals up to fatal wounds.
