Village's Location Northern Country
Village's Background: The north, barren and cold. A land of harsh times and strong attitudes. A country always ready to fight. The leader of the north is known by the title, Tamon-ten. The north is known for its mastery of earth style jutsu. The military might of the north is unrivaled by any of the other heavenly lands. But this wasn't always so, the north began as a country founded by the Hagoromo Clan, Kedoin Clan, Tsuchigumo Clan, and the Yuki Clan who were looking for nothing but peace. Coming out of the warring states era of the five great nations, these clans were tired of all of the fighting. Moving to the northern most area of the new continent they migrated too, the clans centered themselves in a very exclusive portion of an icy mountain. Luckily for the north, the village was founded on the site of volcanic hot springs, leaving the village in a constant temperate climate. Being centered in a livable environment surrounded by the harshness of the frozen mountains and the sea of thousand ice make it a natural fortress. A nation focused on peace but warped into a a need for self-defense. The need for peace was so great in the north that they built a massive military in order to keep other nations from invading their land. The country developed innovative combat jutsu in order to protect themselves. Tagged "Gunjutsu", the soldier ninja of the north have learned the art of channeling chakra through vessels to fire deadly "chakra bullets" at their foes. This breakthrough has lead to each ninja of the land being trained to use these techniques, and on top of that, each ninja works on custom Gunjutsu techniques to differentiate themselves from their allies. These techniques have made the north a very powerful force, and are one of the best kept secrets of the four heavenly lands. Tragically, the north has fallen into a period of war. The northern country and the eastern country both required more land for a growing population. Both lands struck a claim on the current demilitarized zone leading to hostility between both nations. The first great ninja war of the new continent was waged between both nations for five years until a temporary treaty was formed. This temporary truce has been enacted by the two villages so long as no one enters the land they were fighting over. Essentially becoming a border war, both countries have lined the now demilitarized zone with forts and bases in anticipation of their enemies attack. Now the only way into the northern country on foot is through the military checkpoint which falls between the sea of thousand ice and the demilitarized zone. The checkpoint is very strict, and it is hard to be admitted without a very good reason. Tensions are high between the North and the East, peace talks have proved ineffective, and a continuation of the war is immanent.
