Breaching the surface, he shook his head to clear away the water and check his position in the water. Not too far off from the dock, indigo eyes landing on a little girl that waited there. Seeing her perk at the sight of him, he couldn't help a smile as he swam over.
"Did you find it?" She fidgeted a bit, putting herself at the edge of the dock.
Kaito only grinned as he held up the small object in his hand, other hand removing his breathing apparatus. "Sure did." In his palm rest a little shell bell. The cord it had been on was snapped, but it didn't look any worse for wear. In fact, a quick dry and a new cord would have one doubting it had even made a trip anywhere without it's owner.
"Oh thank you! Mom woulda been so mad if I lost this one too!"
Beside him, another form breached the surface. Much as the teen had, it shook it's head as well. Spying the bell in Kaito's hand, his partnering Vaporeon, took it upon himself to relieve Kaito of the trinket and swim it over to the girl.
"Thank you, Mr. Stripey." she cooed, hand out for the bell once the Vaporeon was close enough. It was dropped into her palm and 'Mr. Stripey' was content to use his neck frill to float. "Thank you both so much!"
"No real thanks needed. You just keep a hold of that runaway bell." Kaito chuckled, watching as she nodded and moved to leave. She blew 'Mr. Stripey' a kiss and gave him a wave before scampering off. "Huh. Maybe I should have named you Mr. Stripey." Kaito hadn't even managed to offer a grin to the brown and white Vaporeon before he got a blast of water to the face.
A slight huff rose from the Vaporeon, watching his partner go under water a moment. That should serve him. Mr. Stripey, indeed. An ear flicked before radaring around to pick out a rather pleasant bit of music. Huh. He hadn't known there were performers this close to the docks. Glancing back as Kaito resurfaced, the Vaporeon moved to dock edge and pulled himself out.
"Huh? Where are you off to, Poise?"
"Vaaaae~" He tipped his head further up the docks. Over there. He wanted to check something out. Not waiting to hear Kaito's reply, he was on his way, leaving Kaito to hurry after him if he wanted to find out just what had Poise going for a walk.
It was a bit further than he'd expected, tail swishing behind him as he carefully slipped past fishermen and off the docks themselves.Spying the performer, he made his way closer and took a seat to just sit and listen.
