 A large swimming pool that goes from three feet to twenty. Used for exercise and training primarily, can also been used as competition pool. Uses chlorinated water, as opposed to the other pool located through a heavy set of wooden doors, which uses fresh water heated by magic.

Wearing a black two piece, she had her towel wrapped around her waist along with other essentials such as a bottled water and a novel to read after her training. Setting her belongings and towel on a nearby chair, the red head walked calmly over to the side of the pool to sit down and dip her feet in the water. Propping her elbows behind her, Alesandra leaned back and closed her eyes for a moment in relaxation. In order to prevent getting rusty with her abilities, she had often visited the training pool two to three times a week. She was able to manipulate the pool water as well as get regular exercise by swimming, thus knocking two birds with one stone.
Reopening her eyes, she carefully slipped into the shallow end where the water only went up to her waist. Taking an extra few seconds to compose herself, she gently lifted her arms to where only her hands hovered above the water's surface. With ease, she moved her right hand outwards and her left hand high above her head, following shortly were two streams of water. Alesandra continued to move her hands in an a random pattern, manipulating the two streams of water gracefully before bringing her hands together, creating a giant ball of water that engulfed her hands. Joanne's dull expression never changed when the children had been screaming, yelling, and all around freak out in the entrance hall. Her hand was on her hip, her heels clicking against the marble stairs, and she had stared boredly down to the pitiful students before her. It was instant, and rather easy, to perceive the elementals in the crowd, and even more so to find the ice and water users. She wondered how well her students were skilled in such an art, and as she walked the long hallways she pondered their usage.
The clicks of her heels resounded around her, and her dark blue locks fell across her shoulders as she looked from side to side. She had no intention of meeting any of the students on the first day, and was more than happy when Alice announced it would be a free day of exploration for them. Her class was all fixed up, most likely unlike her sister's, and she had nothing better to do with her time. Teaching students and showing them how to properly use the elements wasn't really on her repertoire, and she only really cared about teaching them combat. If they couldn't go up against the monstrosities, then they were useless. If they were useless, then Joanne had no interest in them.
Her patience even thinking of it was running low and she quickly decided to let off her steam in the training pool. She could easily manipulate the water there and it always seemed to calm her down when she was way above her head. Her sister was more happy for the new change, getting students and training them, showing off her abilities and making them all her little progenies. Joanne, on the other hand, didn't really care anything about her students. They were just fodder even if they didn't know it, and therefore there was no reason to grow attached.
Her music blared into her ears, a song on repeat, and the soft form of her headphones was more than comfortable on the back of her head. She must look quite a sight: red headphones that blared music that anyone could hear, shorts that hung loosely on her thighs, a white shirt and a blue overcoat. Her red rimmed glasses bounced slightly on the bridge of her nose as she glided down the hallway. She was definitely not looking like she was about to take a dunk in the pool, and more like a down-to-business mother who wasn't in the mood for anyone's bullshit.
Joanne walked to the familiar door off the side of the entrance for the school, and she opened the door without a word. Her navy blue orbs peered around the room, the smell of chlorine filling her nostrils, and her eyes narrowed when she saw someone already cooling down in the pool. The girl was calmly floating on her back through the water, and Joanne's heel clicked against the ground with annoyance.
"This is not a relaxing pool," she said icely, her annoyance masked by her dutiful tone. Her headphones blared, and it would make it seem like she couldn't hear the girl if she were to talk, though that was far from the case. Joanne smelled an elemental, and her voice softened only a fraction, "This pool is only for training. You should heed to that rule."

She enjoyed the feeling of cool water against her skin, it was probably by far, the best feeling she could think of. Especially how smoothly her red hair moved in the water; it made her feel as if she was a mermaid with perfect locks. The light humming of hers soon died down as her hearing picked up a voice that was muffled out by the water over her ears. Reopening her eyes, she lifted her head up slightly, noticing a dark haired woman. Two things were present in her mind: The red glasses suited the stranger really well, and she looked too young to be a teacher, but too old to be a student. Bringing her upper body upright, she began to tread the water with her legs considering how she drifted over to the deep end. Alesandra opened her mouth to greet the lady but soon closed it after hearing her comment. With a slight raise of her left eyebrow, she came to the conclusion that this woman was a faculty member because of her choice of words."I'm aware of that, ma'am. I was only taking a short break." she explained in a calm manner. Without waiting for a response, she followed up with a question, "Are you a new teacher? The vibrating sound waves from the girl's voice reached through the blaring music of Joanne's headphones, and she cocked her head as a strand of hair fell into her eyes. The child had been staring at her, up and down, before replying to her order and the woman offered a smirk in response. She was an interesting girl, her fiery red hair was drenched with water and it reminded the woman of the movie her sister and she watched when they were kids. Little Fish-maid or something, she thought before rolling her eyes and peering down at the girl in the pool once more.
Jo mused over the girl as she treaded the water neatly, and knew immediately that she must be some type of water elemental. The fluidity of the actions of those specific auras was almost uncanny, especially in their own element, and she clicked her fingers slightly to swish the water around the pool. It would be mere seconds before the girl was right in front of her, over in the shallow water, and her navy optics scavenged the child's features once more.
"A short break," she mused. "And what have you been doing to warrant that?" Her head cocked as the vixen asked her question and her brow quirked. "You have only been here for a day, how in the world would you have seen me around?" Shaking her head, she placed a hand on her hip and said, "Show me what you can do. Might as well get this over with before my class tomorrow."
She could ask the girl her name later, or even wait the full day until her class, but for now she simply wished to see how masterful to the element the child was. If it depended on life or death, as it would in the near future, Joanne was sure she would be able to appease the child in giving her a like scenario.

Then again, she wasn't the greatest at reading people just by appearance. To her surprise, the water started to guide Alesandra to the shallow end which confused her because it wasn't of her own doing. "Wooah..." She leaned back slightly as the water carried her over in front of the older female. Hearing her question, she tilted her head slightly and looked around awkwardly. Her thoughts on this woman were not looking so hot, but she assumed all teachers were like that. Alesandra's eyes lit up as the teacher demanded for a demonstration of her skills. "Sure thing." Although she was a little weary that she would be having this woman as her teacher, she did not hesitate in showing her abilities. Standing up right with her feet touching the pool floor, she outstretched her arms to form a T with her body. Following suit, she rolled both of her wrists in opposite directions as a ring of water began to form around her. In a few moments, the ring would soon lift Alesandra's body up slowly as it took shape of an inverse whirlpool. "Ta-dah!" She gave the woman a grin while still concentrating on maintaining and controlling the shape of the water.

The small show of skill seemed to surprise, and allow wonderment to spill out of the girl's form and Joanne wondered if the red haired child had ever met any other elemental in her life. It was definitely a possibility, she thought as the girl traveled over to her in the shallow end, seeing as there weren't many auras in general tied to a specific place. She wondered if it would have been better, for all of them, if there was. Then it would not have been simply her sister and herself against the large school, and it would have changed Joanne's behavior to that of being better. She rolled her eyes after ducking down her head, her index and middle finger brushing her forehead, at her stupidity. No matter if you had more friends, had no powers, it didn't guarantee you a better life. Her sister tried to forget that, but Joanne knew it the hard way.
As the student formed a T with her body, Joanne was slightly- and she does mean slightly- intrigued at the level of skill to create a vortex around one's body and have it propel them upward. She quirked her right brow, looking up at the girl, and she refrained from snorting at the child's happy and amazed, "Ta-dah!". Joanne had to give her points, however, that she followed the instruction, or order how you looked at it, without complaint. If she would listen to dutifully, then maybe it wouldn't be a bore, or an annoyance, tomorrow or even now.
"Impressive," Joanne breathed, allowing the girl the small compliment. However. "Water neutralizes itself out against other forms of water," she began, giving her first lesson to see if she needed to dumb down her class if the student failed. "This is the case for both its liquid and solid forms. However, water can easily overpower the same matter if it comes from a user stronger. There is ways around this," she said, raising her index finger as if to make a literal point. "You must read where the attack is coming from and concentrate the more denser water, for if you keep piling the same sparse liquid it will have no effect, into that area or it'll break apart and you will come crashing down. Bigger is not always better, especially when it comes to the element of water. Remember this."
Her navy orbs looked to the girl before she dropped her right foot behind her on the slippery tiles while her right arm pulled itself back next to her head. Her left was closed into a fist, and after she gave the girl enough time for her words to sink in, she generated and shot a small ball of water to catapult itself into the swirling tornado from her closed right fist. It was the size of a quarter, but she knew if the student did nothing it would effectively cut off the water flow completely and obliterate the liquid out into the pool and the surrounding area. The twisting and churning of liquid was more powerful when it came from a smaller, more localized, force and even if the user was not stronger, it would almost always shatter the opponents massive amounts.
If the girl would not stop the small ball, then Joanne would definitely have to dumb down the material, or do what Nanie wants of her and coddle her students. She was definitely not looking forward to doing the latter and she mentally cheered on the student as the ball flew ever closer.

The red head never experienced the presence of a, hopefully skilled, elementalist. She had only learned from her older brother, and tried her own style of manipulating it - though she still believed that her skills were equivalent to those who started with the actual fundamentals. Replaying the lecture of water in her mind, she attempted to make sense of it. For the most part, it was easy to understand, but Alesandra couldn't quite get the overall picture of it. However, there was no time to dwell on the topic as a small ball of water was sent in her direction.
With one hand still outstretched to maintain the form of her vortex, she brought her other arm down to her side before sending it back up above her head, which was followed by another body of water taking form of a shield in front of her. The words of the teacher still lurked in the back of her mind, causing her to reshape the second body of water into a more denser and smaller form. As the attack came in contact with her dense shield, the water cancelled out just like how the teacher had said.
Staying quiet for a moment, Alesandra took the time to recap what she had just learned in both the lecture and demonstration. "I don't think I did that correctly...did you want me to change the density of the vortex or just neutralize your attack with anything?" she asked curiously. Joanne watched the young girl listen intently to her lecture and as she placed a heeled shoe onto the slippery tiles, the click it made was powerful with her approval. However, that was until the girl simply manipulated the surrounding water and created a shield to protect her. The only lesson she truly followed and attributed was making the molecules denser so that the dark woman's small water ball could not pierce it. She was about to scoff to the girl, leaving without a second thought of the useless talent before her, but as the student spoke her hesitance, Joanne showed something her sister thought she had none of. She showed kindness.
Her voice was not sharp, but it still demanded attention, and she said, "If you were out in the field with only the water you are using to create that vortex, you would not be able to generate anything like that shield there. To become stronger, you must be able to manipulate to the far reaches of the water you now control." She folded her arms again, her music blaring as she sighed and tilted her head. "You can not generate water yet, and if you are up against another water user then they could have easily taken control of your shield and lowered it at the last moment. The attack would then have blown away your vortex, and you would be left on your back."
The teacher demonstrated by flicking her pressed together index and middle finger upward. The water shield that was still under the control of the student suddenly shifted, the molecules quivering in the form of the liquid before Jo then flicked her fingers to the side. The water suddenly flung itself to the left then downward to join the rest of the body of liquid underneath it.
"Normally," she said, letting her hand fall to her side, "an aura would not be able to manipulate another's controlled ability. But because you are a novice compared to me, it is quite easy to manipulate. If you cannot use the water you have now, even if you are still manipulating the entire pool to an extent to keep that vortex going, then you will surely fail in becoming stronger. Now, shall we try again?"
Her navy optics hardened as she dropped into her stance, generated yet another ball out of nothing, and sent it flying.

Growing up, the red head was taught many things by her brother but one idea that he emphasized the most was respect towards others, whether they were older or not. Making eye contact with the teacher to indicate that she had Alesandra's full attention, her mouth took form of an 'o' in realization of what the woman had wanted out of her. Her explanation completely made sense, almost to the point where Alesandra had felt slightly discouraged that she didn't perform the task successfully the first time.
Before being able to respond, she quickly glanced to her shield of water that started to act up before returning back to the pool. Her eyes widened as she had witnessed the first time anyone has ever taken control of her own water. It was magnificent! It only motivated her to learn more for this woman and get much more stronger. At the words of her offering Alesandra another try, the red head's muscles tensed up a bit but she nodded to confirm that she was prepared to execute the next attempt successfully.
At the moment the ball of water was sent flying at her once again, she focused on manipulating her vortex in her favor. By channeling the limited source of water to the front side of the vortex, Alesandra's body lowered slightly from the lack of support in the back side. However, when doing so, the front would prove to become effective against the quarter sized ball of water as it would get lost in the density of her own ability. The teacher watched as the student listened intently this time, before demonstrating exactly what she wanted her to do. She stayed silent, as did Joanne, and before long the teacher nodded her head and folded her arms.
"Good," she said, her hair whipping around her as she turned and began walking from the room. "It is time for class. Get down and come when you can."
With that she left, without giving the girl another thought, or any inkling of praise. It simply wasn't her way.

While it wasn't exactly the praise she was searching for, it was good enough seeing that she was at least improving. Her cheerful expression turned into a look of horror as the woman had informed her of class starting before taking off. "Oh, you're right!" She quickly released her control of her vortex and went feet first into the pool water, before resurfacing to swim out to the edge and lift herself up and onto stable ground. Quickly making her way back over to her belongings, making sure not to slip, she recollected everything, putting her towel around her waist and hurried out.
