Terrence shrugged a pure white dress shirt over his chiseled shoulders, along with a light gray vest to accompany it. A smirk decorated his lips as he thought of the events that were shortly scheduled to unfold. The human King and Queen thought they were clever, but Terrence always thought ahead. He was shrewd, but irascible. Gentle, but cunning. Patient, but unforgiving. Seldom the time he ever thought twice about things. Which often got him into multiple predicaments, but he always managed to slink his way out of it. Currently, he picked out his favorite tuxedo, a classic Kiton tux with a slight touch of his own. A heavy, yet comfortable suit jacket carefully graced his shoulders, and was fastened with the buttons near his lower abdomen. Slacks neatly pressed and over his legs, he sat down to slip his shoes over his feet. Terrence loved formal clothing. He felt an odd sense of authority over all else, which he was, in his mind of course.
Light brown hair neatly in place, he stood and maneuvered his way over to a mirror that rested against the milky brown color of his bedroom walls. In his hand, a scarlet red bow tie that was gently placed around his neck, and clipped into place. Terrence smiled into the mirror, as he turned, checking to see if his backside was presentable. The final component were his cuff-links, light gray circles with his first and last initial: T.P written in red cursive.
Giving himself another once over, Terrence sighed with satisfaction before leaving his bedroom and descending down the staircase and into his living room. The mansion was old, a gift from father to son for over 200 generations. To keep it intact, Terrence hired other demons to keep his house spick and span while he tended to more pressing matters. Such as a broken promise...
"Good morning, your Royal Majesty," a former demon named Lazarus called out from the kitchen, "How did you sleep?"
"Like a baby, Laz. Like a baby..." Terrence exclaimed, entering the grand kitchen. Another demon named Eli was stood next to the stove, readying a breakfast for the king. Lazarus smiled, wiping down the table and pulling the chair out for Terrence to sit.
"I assume everything is going well with the humans? You seem in a chipper mood this morning..." Lazarus commented, Eli setting a plate with eggs, bacon, and sausage links on the table. Terrence took a seat, placing a napkin on his lap. He chuckled as he immediately dug into his breakfast. How he wished he could say things were going well. He wished he could just simply say, yes, everything with the humans is fine! But it wasn't, and he wasn't going to lie about it.
" No, actually, it isn't. It's the exact ******** opposite. Im fuming right now." Terrence retorted, covering his mouth with another napkin. Lazarus stopped in his tracks as Eli quickly scampered out of the room. When Terrence was angry, the whole household knew it. He went on rampages, like a child throwing a tantrum. He'd go absolutely crazy while Lazarus desperately tried to calm him down. They weren't fun times, so Lazarus often found himself trying to avoid them.
"H-How so...?" Lazarus stuttered, figuring that if he talked about it, it would release some pent up anger. Terrence was quiet for a few minutes, Lazarus taking the time to wash the dishes Eli had used.
"The humans think they have deceived me. I gave them my part of the deal, good health, protection, and even fed them with the crops fit for a king, yet they betray me! I asked for one simple thing, a partner to help me rule this land, and they decline!" Terrence hissed, bending his fork into a 'U' shape. His eyes burned a dark red as he abruptly stood up, causing Lazarus to jump at the sound of the chair sliding against the tile. Lazarus whipped around, setting his hands on Terrence's shoulders gently.
"L-Look... think these things through, sir. If you upset the humans, they may try to attack us..." Lazarus informed, Terrence laughing in his face.
"I could snap my fingers and all of my blessings to them would be gone. I wouldn't have to raise a finger to kill them. Their crops will fail, I will no longer be there to protect their tiny kingdom, and I will return all funds that I've lent them, back to my own. They need me, Laz. I don't need them." Terrence spat, removing the other demons' hands off of his frame. Lazarus sighed.
"I know you're upset, but you shouldn't always turn towards violence, my friend. Please, take a few minutes to analyze your actions..." Lazarus smiled as Terrence stared at him for a few moments. Just to make the old man happy, he agreed, turning and taking a seat on the couches in the living room.

It seemed like any other ordinary day, Anastasia was walking around her parents kingdom, doing as told. "Morning" she said softly to her mother and father, sitting on their thrones in the throne room. "Good day to you to dear" her mother said in her usual pleasant voice. Ana bowed at them before her father spoke "Today is the day you are to be wed to Sir Jamesmith" the king said, a smile spread over his face at the fact that his daughter was going to be wed to a prince from some land somewhere. Anastasia, despite the fact that she was not looking forward to being handed over to some sir that lived god only knew where, was silent the whole time her father spoke about what was going to happen and all about the wedding she wanted no part in. Somedays the girl felt like being who she was meant more trouble than anything good. With a curtsy, she looked at her parents "May I take my leave?.. I really ought to be getting my hand maiden to prepare me for my wedding day.." she said to them softly. When the two nodded, both beaming at her like they were the ones about to get remarried or something. She stood straight and off she went, out the doors and rushed towards her room. So she was going to get married to someone today? Someone she didn't even know. "This all feels so wrong...." she thought to herself, but she wouldn't dare ask her parents to cancel the wedding on her behalf, not because she didn't love this man, or even know him. She didn't know what it was that was eating away inside her, but the whole wedding thing made her stomach uneasy. Something feels terribly wrong... I wish I knew what was going on with me.... she thought sorrowfully to herself as she moved away from the throne room towards her quarters.Stepping into her room, Ana shut the door lightly behind her and let out a heavy sigh "I didn't wanna me wed to some stranger... I wanted to fall in love..." she said to herself. She knew it was pointless to mop about something she had no control over. But looking up to see the shimmering white dress that hung by her changing quarters, she blinked tears out of her eyes as she made her way forward toward the lengthy piece of fabric. She ran her fingers over the delicate lace sleeves and down towards the long train the would trail behind her as she walked towards a man she'd never even met in her life. Just as Ana's hand fell away from the dress, Juliet, her hand maiden, walked in. Turning to face the other female, Ana smiled softly at her "Hello Juliet..." she said kindly. The girl curtsied and made her way towards Ana "Hello Princess... I believe you're having a wedding today?.. Your father told me to come here and make see too it that you were dressed and ready for your soon to be husband" Juliet said as she walked into the bathing room. Watching as the girl ran about, preparing a bath for her, made the reality of the whole situation all the more worse for Ana. She waited until the water was ready before she lightly removed her dress from her slim shoulders and stepped into the welcoming heat.Wincing lightly as Juliet pulled the strings of the corset around her waist as tight as they could go, Ana looked at her figure in the mirror. Her ivory skin was soft and free from any markings, her hair was a light mahogany, shimmering in the light the came in through the windows that were spread wide open on each end of the room. "There...." Juliet sighed out, wiping a thin sheet of sweat from her forehead. Ana, who was struggling to breath properly in her corset, turned to face her hand maiden "We should leave the dress for last... Father would have my head if it was to be ruined or dirtied..." she said, her eyes wandering back to the look over the length of dress that was far too beautiful for her to wear. She let Juliet do her hair and place pins in it, then she applied face paint and once everything was done, Ana stood and the two girls placed the dress over Ana's frame. Flattening the front of the dress while Juliet did up the back, Ana fixed her hair and ran a hand over the lace sleeve of the opposite arm. "Oh my goodness.... You look beautiful... Oh Anastasia..." Juliet breathed out. Ana smiled as Juliet came around to look at the front of the dress. Spinning slowly to face the full length mirror, Ana's breath caught when she saw her reflection in the mirror. She looked stunning, absolutely breath taking, it was a shame she couldn't wear this dress happily. "I'd like to be left alone now Juliet.." she said, never taking her eyes off the mirror. Terrence sat on the comfortable couch, facing a coffee table where Lazarus had placed a glass of wine. The Demon king mumbled angrily to himself while Lazarus cleaned the sink, before sitting across from his long time friend.
"Now that you've had time to think, have you come to a better conclusion?" Lazarus asked, smiling. Terrence glared at him, sighing softly. The other demon was his caretaker when his father and mother were alive. He was the one who changed his diapers, fed and clothed him when his parents were away, which was often. Terrence's father was a kind, gentle soul who smiled upon every living life, including the humans, although in their eyes he was an unholy creature of death and destruction. He really broke the stereotype for demons, being the soft-spoken man he was. His human name was Peter, and he loved to take walks and stay up late with Terrence, describing all of the beautiful things he had witnessed throughout his Twenty thousand year life. His eyes were filled with love for the world above, and after he was killed, Terrence was filled with the exact opposite.
Without his father, he felt insecure and empty. His mother lived, but a great burden plagued her for the short years she lived after he died. She eventually gave up her physical form to join her husband in Purgatory, where they finished out the rest of their lives together in harmony. Lazarus was beside Terrence's father throughout his whole term as king. Twenty thousand years beside the king filled him with wisdom that Terrence would never be able to fully comprehend. Being only about 2500 years old, Terrence was the youngest demon king any demon had ever seen. Some would say he was mature for his age, but Lazarus knew better. He was a child in his eyes, his anger often getting the better of him.
Terrence nodded, clearing his throat, "Yes. I hear that the Princess is having a wedding this evening. You and I will attend, and before they can officially marry, I stand and shed my human skin. Hopefully this will scare everyone away, and she falls in love with me. I then proceed to bring her back home where we can properly wed."
Lazarus was quiet as he rubbed his temples with his fingers. He sighed loudly, a soft mumble escaping his lips, "No, Terrence. That will not work. Let me help you..."
Terrence groaned, leaning back against the couch he was sitting on. This man was all strategy while Terrence was more action.
"I agree that we attend the wedding. Maybe there will be some sort of ceremony before. We can attend that as well. Yes, you should stand, but no you shouldn't shed any skin. Draw attention to the king and queen, they should be there. State your proposal. They either stop the wedding and hand over the princess or-"
"They all burn!"
Lazarus rolled his eyes, "Something along those lines, maybe..."
Terrence laughed, satisfied. He stood, slapping a hand on Lazarus' shoulder, "Then we must prepare ourselves for a wedding! I have plenty of tuxes that will suit you!"
Lazarus chuckled as Terrence led him up the stairs and to the master bedroom. They sifted through tuxes for a couple of hours before settling on a black matte finish Ralph Lauren tuxedo with a bright red tie. Terrence smiled as the two made their way back down the staircase and out a to a carriage that awaited them outside. Sure, Terrence could just teleport them to the other kingdom, but Terrence loved the view of the land he had claimed as his own. It was big and beautiful, houses lined up against hills that housed demons of all shapes and sizes. It was surrounded by a 50 meter wall that was built centuries ago.
The two squeezed into the carriage, setting their destination for the Michaels kingdom.
-CrossroadsQueen- hopefully this is good ;3

Silence fall dark and heavy inside the living quarters of Anastasia Clark Michaels. She'd been standing, eyes wide and fascinated, fixed on her reflection in the mirror. She knew she'd been standing there an awful long time because her feet were beginning to hurt from the shoes she wore on her feet. I look beautiful.... her thoughts echoed themselves in her mind. The girl stood, dumbfounded in front of her mirror, so transfixed by how she looked she hadn't heard the silent footsteps of her approaching mother "Oh Anastasia... You look like a queen..." her mother's voice travelled the length of the room towards the girls ears. The soft sound of her mothers voice cut through her daze and brought her back to the reality of why she was in this dress to begin with. "T-T-Thank you mother.." the girl stuttered softly before looking down from the mirror. She could hear her mother moving deeper into the room until Ana could feel her hands softly resting over the thin, lacy fabric that covered her arms, just below her shoulders. Looking back into the mirror, she noticed the tears that had sprung to her soft hearted mothers eyes. The woman had always been a kind hearted and caring mother to Ana. She'd always tried her very best to care for her children, even though their father, the king, had always told her mother to let the hand maids do it all. Ana turned and wrapped her arms around the older woman's body. While most of Ana's looks came from her father's side, her figure had thankfully come from her mother. The two stood, Ana holding her mother while she cried softly. "Oh heavens! Look at me.. I'm shedding water over something that should be happy... And your father would be angered if I was to ruin such a fine dress..." her mother said as the older woman stepped back and gave Ana's hands a squeeze. With a heavy heart, she watched as her mother walked out of her room and disappeared behind the grand doors, the very doors she would never again get to walk through again after this very evening. The whole palace, as well as people of the kingdom were all joined in the grand ballroom inside the castle's walls. Everyone was setting tables with the finest silverware for the princesses wedding day. The king was ordering his squires to find him the best robes to wear, and the queen was searching for her finest dress of silk. Everyone was cheerful and excited to see the princess wed to the prince Jamesimth. Everyone but, of course, the princess herself was glad for such a grand day in the kingdom. Ana walked towards her window, resting her elbows against the sill of the window, leaning forward on her toes, head in her hands. She watched as several horse pulled carriages were called to a halt at the foot of the palace doors. A fine red carpet spread neatly over the steps leading into the grand home of the king and queen. Ladies in fine dresses that trailed behind them as they walked, and men in suits that she fitted and ties of all sorts around their necks. The princess merely watched the tiny heads of her guests disappearing past the stone doors that were held wide open. Pushing away from the sights below, she went to the mirror and took one last long look at her, then around the room that she would dearly miss. Farwell.... she thought to herself as she turned and walked out of her room, thinking that she would simply be wed to a man she never met, blind to the secrets that the day held, ignorant to her deceiving parents. What would happen to the princess at her wedding ceremony was something she could not have foretold, nor predicted. After all it had all started off as just another day, until she was told about a wedding for her.Everything was set, and everyone in place. Accepting her fate, Anastasia stood in front of the arch before the carpet that led to the man whose hand she was to accept in marriage, fidgeting nervously with her fingers. When the music began, she took a deep and shaky breath before she was able to place one foot in front of the other. She noticed not who was in the aisles to her sides, noticed not that her mother and father were starring proudly at her, nor did she notice the demon king sitting merely a few feet from where she was to be wedded. The only thing she could keep focused on, was her shaking knees and the sound of her own heart beating so forcefully inside her chest, she felt that, at any moment, it would burst from her breasts and onto the red carpet beneath her. She made it all the way to the alter, smiling a small, unsure smile at her new husband. And thus, with shivers and an unsure mind, the princess listened as the ceremony began to take place. Her husband smiling like a fool who'd just impressed the king, and starring at every feature the princess had to offer. Ana's Outfit

Terrence and Lazarus climbed out of the carriage after the door was opened by the demon who rode in the front. Adjusting his red bow tie, Terrence waved as the carriage turned and strolled away. The two were herded into a large chapel like building where a few people were already seated. The demon king made sure to sit within distance from the arch, for if he changed his mind and just decided to snatch the princess and leave.
The two demons sat together in the pews, opening a small card they received at the entrance of the chapel. Honestly, Terrence was excited, while Lazarus was more nervous. Terrence changed his mind in seconds. Lazarus could never quite put his finger on what he was going to do next. He was extremely unpredictable, and it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand straight up.
"You know, I may be starting to think this is a mistake... maybe we should return to the castle..." Lazarus muttered to the man beside him, who was looking around. Terrence glared at him, giving him a light nudge with his elbow.
"Oh Lazarus, it's too late now. I've made up my mind. This is exactly what I want to do. I've never felt so much adrenaline in my life, not even when I was crowned king. What a lovely day that was... Oh but what a lovely day this is! Worry not, Lazarus. I'm not leaving this place without that of which I came for." Terrence exclaimed, getting a few off looks from people sitting nearby. Lazarus groaned softly to himself as the soft music began. He had been to his fair share of weddings, and they were all lovely. He'd hate to see one get ruined, but if he interrupted, Terrence would surely be terrifyingly angry.
Terrence turned once he saw Ana out of the corner of his eyes. He grinned, crossing his legs. He was in luck. The princess was very beautiful. She had hair the color of his eyes when he grew angry, only a few shades darker. Her pale skin complimented her hair and bright eyes. He reclined in his chair, happy of such a wonderful coincidence.
The first part of the ceremony was long and boring with a barrage of scriptures from the bible as usual. Terrence, when brought to weddings was usually fidgety and silently frustrated. He often bounced his knee or tapped his thighs while waiting to leave. Now, he found himself in a state of peace, sitting quietly in his chair as he looked on. He would sometimes look around him. There must have been hundreds of humans gathered here today in this chapel. Terrence was excited to give them a a show they'd never soon forget.
"If any man can show just cause, why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak, or else hereafter for ever hold his peace." The priest stated, everyone quiet and seated. Lazarus turned to the demon king, his expression anxious and on edge. There was a pause, and Terrence took this moment to stand. There was a slight gasp in the crowd as he stood. There were few who recognized him. He was a frequent in this kingdom, how could he not be.
"I disagree with this marriage." Terrence started out, moving out of the pews to stand in the aisle Ana walked down moments ago, "May I present you all to the King and Queen, who made a deal with me a few years back. The food you all eat, your wealth and safe kingdom were all blessings that I gave you. You are all warm and safe, because of me. If you believed that your flourishing crops were harvested successfully after every season was just pure luck, you were wrong. That was me. If you believed that your kingdom's well-being was because of a sturdy military, you were also wrong. That was also me..." Terrence smiled turned to face Ana and her 'husband'.
"But who am I, you ask? It's a shame that most of you don't know. My name is Terrence Pierce. I am the friendly demon king from a place where people like me live in opulence. I am the one who protected you all from hunger, war and poverty. I was glad to give these gifts, but it seems that your beloved King and Queen have to decided to try and deceive me. Sadly, I keep tabs on all that happens within this kingdom and when I heard the princess was getting married, I was confused. When the King and Queen begged me to assist them, I happily agreed. In return, I asked for their first born daughter to be wed to me. They also agreed, but it seems that they have changed their minds. Well, I haven't." Terrence spat, fists clenched and eyes burning a deep red as he glared at the Royalty seated at the front. He chuckled, calming himself down.
"She belongs to me." Terrence hissed, pointing his finger at Ana, "I will give you a choice. Either you admit she is mine and release her to me, or you don't and suffer the consequences." Terrence smiled, clasping his hands together. He looked around the room, awaiting an answer.

On went the ceremony, for everyone but Anastasia. She was starring blank faced at her husband, who kept admiring her breasts and the rest of her body, except for her face. None of this felt real for the female, she felt like at any moment she'd awake and be in her bed, all this being nothing more than a night terror. But of course her luck would not be flipped so soon. This was happening and she was going to be leaving her home to go to a kingdom she didn't know. The priest went on with reading the bible as Anastasia and her soon to be king and husband starred back with a look that promised things she didn't want with him. Then came the famous words that made everyone chuckle. Of course when no one stood up to proclaim their undying love for her, she wasn't all that surprised. It wasn't as if her mother and father let her outside of the palace wall, much less outside the walls of her living quarters. This was her first time even seeing many of the people that sat amongst the pews. Some related to her or to her "husband". If only I'd gone with Jessabell when she's snuck out of the palace... she thought to herself, memories of when her younger sister would ask her to deceive their parents and take a stroll through the ground of the kingdom. There were so many things she wished she'd done, but alas, here she was, about to be giving freely to some prince whom she'd never met, and there was nothing she could do about it.As the silence dragged on, her smile became a few inches smaller, there was no saving her, or so she thought. But if Ana had known just what was going to happen on this day, she would have fled the palace, never going back again. Just as the priest was about to continue with the ceremony, a handsome looking man rose from the pews and began to speak. His charm and undeniable good looks made her heart skip a beat. But then she'd never have expected a man that looked such like this one, to be the opposite of what he was. When his eyes flashed that deep dark red, Ana's eye widened in fear, she could feel her veins run cold. She was numb from head to toe, unable to speak or move, or anything. Her parents had promised her to this.. This man? How could they have been so selfish? And they'd broken their promise. She watched in horror as the charming man changed into something cold and dark. Ana did everything in her power not to faint, though she felt very much like doing so. "Demon!" he king said, his voice both booming but a slight quiver was there. "Anthony... Whatever are we to do?.." the queen asked her husband in silence. The whole kingdom feel silent as the demon revealed all of the secrets held around how the kingdom had flourished from nothing. The king was shivering in his own robes. The queen feared for her kingdom and her daughter all at once. The poor old woman fell faint at her kings side, unable to take all the pressure. Servants rushed to her aid and took the queen away, leaving the king alone, powerless and alone. "Y-You.... My daughter is..." the king started, but stopped when he noticed the look the demon king gave him. The king fell back against his throne, his heart heavy and his power torn from him. Anastasia was shivering, she couldn't do anything but stare at the demon king, his smile of wickedness terrifying her like no night terror ever had. "She is rightfully yours demon... Take her and begone...." the king spoke softly, his once powerful voice now soft and almost unrecognizable.Cold, that was all Ana could feel, cold. She listened as her father willing gave her away again to some stranger. She turned to her father, tears in her eyes "Please father!" she shouted to the man, her "husband" had fled the chapel along with most of the guests. "Father I beg you!.." she called from the top of her lungs. Indeed the princess had never thought she would be wedded until that morning. But never had she thought she would be wedded to the man that her parents had made a deal with, a man that look so powerful and so terrifying. The helpless female watched as her father turned to face away from her, unable to look his own daughter in the face after he'd sold her to a demon. Did she mean nothing to him? Anastasia turned to the demon and could no longer help herself. Tears flowed endlessly down her cheeks, there was no running, not anymore. "Please... Please don't take me away from my family.... Please I beg you..." she said through her heartbreaking sobs. How could any of this ever have happened to her? She fell to her knees then, so afraid of her newest husband to stand any longer. She shivered and eventually, she gave in and the princesses body fell forward, limp and almost dead. She had fainted, and the king looked upon his daughter one last time before he rose and glared at the demon "Begone demon..." he said, wanting the demon king to leave, he had to think of his kingdom and the rest of his children. Terrence noticed Ana's eyes watch him as he spoke. When he grew angrier, he saw her flinch back, fear replacing the attraction that her eyes were filled with seconds ago. He didn't mind. Terrence knew he was attractive. He had a few female demons tell him from time to time, especially when they were alone together. Some would say the awareness he had of his beauty was egotistical, but he found power in confidence. It wasn't his fault others were insecure.
The screaming began when the queen fainted. The chaos began but Terrence didn't bother turning around to see it. People climbed out of the pews, Lazarus standing and moving to Terrence's side to avoid being trampled. The groom dashed past Terrence making the demon king chuckle slightly. It was amazing how a sudden change of eye color could send people off the deep end. Oh, but Terrence wasn't complaining. He enjoyed the sudden commotion. It gave him more of a rush as he ringed the king for an answer.
Lazarus stood beside Terrence, dusting off his tuxedo vest. The two looked very formal standing in the aisle, in power. When the king fell against the throne, Terrence laughed wickedly, grinning from ear to ear.
"Haha, you aren't what you used to be, Anthony! Aging seems like a pain, I'm glad I don't start that for a few thousand years!" Lazarus cracked a smile, immediately losing it when the princess stumbled her way towards the two. She sobbed in their faces, making Terrence sort of uncomfortable. Crying was something Terrence didn't really know about. When humans cried he grew confused, then irritated. They were blubbering messes at that point, and anyone who was incomprehensible was just wasting the demon king's time.
He was about to tell her to stop crying until she fell on her side, right at his feet. He took a couple steps back, staring at her, confused out of his mind. Two collapses today. Terrence was intrigued, to say the least.
All that was in view was that the princess was his. Terrence scooped her up in his arms, eyeing her body. She was light, and fit comfortable in his arms. She was sort of thin, so Terrence concluded that he would feed her often. He himself didn't eat much. He didn't have to, but he loved the taste of Lazarus' cooking.
When the king told him to leave he smiled, "I'm glad this deal had concluded with no unnecessary bloodshed. You're a smart man. Well, you made a deal with a demon. You can't be smarter than the cattle you breed. Farewell Anthony. Never try to deceive a demon, especially the king, you idiot." Terrence laughed as he turned on his heel, exiting the chapel. Lazarus followed after, glancing back in case the king tried something against Terrance. The kingdom was quiet as everyone fled to their homes. Terrence watched as their carriage pulled into view, walking towards it and thanking the demon that opened the door. He laid Ana down onto one of the seats while taking a seat across from her. Lazarus sat next to the king, a small smirk on his face.
--
Eventually, the carriage halted. Terrance was surprised that the princess was still unconscious. Sure he was a sight to see, but he wasn't that bad. He pulled her up from her underarms, slinging her over his shoulders with little effort as he stepped out of the carriage. He figured when she woke up she would not be happy, so instead of putting her in his bedroom, he placed her in an empty room right beside his. The castle had many empty rooms. Any demon was allowed in if they passed Terrence's tests.
The room was decorated nicely, a large bed pushed against the far wall with drapes hanging down from the bars that emerged from the bed. The walls were a creamy color, with white curtains and accents. A small recliner was pushed up against another wall, a bookcase settled near it. The room was lit by candles that were mounted on the wall, creating a cozy atmosphere.
Gently, Terrence placed her on the silk sheets, tucking her hair behind her ear. She was so very beautiful. He smiled, running a hand through his hair.
"Check on her every half hour. Make sure the window is locked and she had no way to escape. But even if she did, I would find her..." Terrence muttered towards her, as if she were faking her deep sleep, "Tell me when she wakes. Tell her she is safe here and I will do no harm to her." Lazarus nodded, watching as the king turned and exited. He did the same shortly after, walking downstairs while Terrence entered his bedroom.

Sun shinning and the waves where crashing against the sand. Anastasia was in her undergarments and headed for the water, she never wore swimming clothes, not when her parents made sure they would be the only ones on the beach. Ana was having a blast, swimming and running around, playing with her siblings and her parents. She always loved going to the beach. She was headed for the water when the sky suddenly became dark, blackness slowly eating away all the beautiful blue the sky once held. For some reason, all Ana could think about were red eyes starring into the back of her head. Turning, she was face to face with the demon king. His eyes were the same dark red they had been when she saw him become angry. They bore into hers, as if he could reach down and pluck her soul right out of her body with the snap of his long fingers. She began to shiver and shake, fear taking over, the darkness coming closer. All that was left was the eyes of the demon king, and then his wicked laugh echoed through the poor girls ears. Eyes darted open as Ana's throat ached, she must have screamed in her slumber, had everything been merely a night terror? Please let it be so... she thought to herself as her eyes finally focused and travelled around the room. With regret in her heart, Anastasia was sad to see she was no more in her living quarters than in the library were she often dozed off. Looking down at the bed, she felt the silk sheet beneath her fingertips and wondered where she was. Her memories came back slowly, and she feared she was with the demon king. slowly rising from the bed, she pulled the pins from her hair and shook her head to allow it to fall freely and brush lightly against her shoulders. So her father had really given her away to the demon king without so much as even trying to fight him. I really was just a pawn for father... Nothing more... Just an obedient little thing he could do with as he saw fit... she thought to herself, her hand rising to swipe at the few drops of water that had fell from her eyes. There was really no point in crying over what had been done, even though all the girl wanted was to be back home with her books and her brothers and sisters. She missed the young ones already. When the door to the room opened, she watched as the demon from earlier, the one who had been at the kings side, walked in. "Is there something I could change into?... I suppose I haven't anywhere to run... Nor would I have a place to go from here... Where it may be... But I don't want to ruin this dress you see..." she told Lazarus, lifting the bottom so that it no longer covered her feet. She slipped out of her shoes and set the dress back down so that it rested against the floor of the room. It was a grand room, lots of space and more things in it than she'd ever thought that one person could ever have the need for. She had calmed down enough after she realized that this room was just that, a room. It wasn't the sleeping chambers of the demon king. Terrence.. That was his name... she thought to herself as she leaned back against the bed. When Lazarus told her that no harm would come to her from the king or any of his people, she nodded, but kept silent. She didn't want to speak, afraid her words would betray her. She accepted the clothes that were handed to her and changed as soon as Lazarus stepped out. Once she was in different clothes, she neatly laid the white dress out over the bed, not wanting to ruin the one thing she had that was from home. I looked so beautiful.. And I'll never look that way again.. she thought to herself as she headed for the door and waited for Lazarus to return. When Lazarus returned, Anastasia listened and spoke no words. She obyed and followed the demon out of the room. She looked around, unable to keep her curiosity at bay. The palace in which the demon king lived was far more magnificent than the one she had lived in for all her life. It's walls were grand and it's beauty was unbelievable. This all belongs to the demon king?... Terrence owns all of this?... It almost seems impossible for a man as terrifying as him to own something so grand and majestic as this palace... she thought to herself. The way the palace look and the way she'd seen the male didn't mix at all. None of it made any sense to her. He'd been so dark and cold, but nothing around this castle felt dark and cold, in fact, it was warm and comforting. Lazarus finally came to a stop at what Anastasia assumed was the room where her and her new husband were to dine. She looked down at herself and, even though she didn't want to be there, felt slightly embarrassed by the choice of clothing Lazarus had given her. She never dined in fine clothing, nor did she ever wear clothing that she wanted. The king and queen had been strict about what Anastasia was to wear and when she could wear it. She watched as Lazarus turned to leave, assuming he was headed for the kitchen. She looked around the room, seeing the windows on the far wall. She walked over and looked out at the land before her. It was green and vast, far greater than the land her father had possessed. She starred out the window, transfixed by the beauty of the land Terrence owned. Ana's Outfit

Terrence sat in his chambers, shoes kicked off and vest shrugged off. A quill was held in his hand, scribbling notes into a small journal. Lazarus had suggested he record his days in a logbook, just as his old man once did. The logbook of Peter Pierce was kept on a pedestal in the center of the Grand Library located in the center of the kingdom. It had thousands upon thousands of entries with black and red ink decorating its pages. It was a hefty tome that described Peter's life from the ripe age of 1500 to the last year of his age: 20,198.
Terrence often found himself at the Grand Library, nestled into a couch in the back of the library, his father's logbook in his lap. He would read for hours, going days without coming back home. Lazarus had to come and persuade him to return to palace more than one time. In Peter's logbook were a few notes directed towards Terrence, who was his only child. They were often lighthearted and silly, reflecting on times the two were together, having fun. Others were serious, as his father explained the maturity needed to guide a whole entire kingdom of demons. The messages towards him were scribbled in red, Terrence's favorite color.
Terrence ended his paragraph with a period and a signature, flipping the book closed. He heard footsteps outside his door, signaling that the princess had awoken. He sighed softly, rubbing his eyes and messing up his hair with a soft shake of his hand. Terrence didn't need to sleep, but sometimes he would be deep in thought, eventually realizing that he had closed his eyes and slumped forward. The man stretched in his chair, pushing it back to stand and look at himself in the mirror.
He had his mothers eyes and nose while he had his fathers mouth and ears. His eyes were a light green and his nose was like a button in the center of his face. He always saw his mother in himself. She was a beautiful woman with a dashing smile and rosy cheeks. Like her husband, she was often aloof and admired things she found interesting. She liked to take Terrence on walks through the kingdom, meeting a lot of new people, like the demons who ran the shops in the center of town, the librarian at the library, and various humans the king and queen allied in their days.
Terrence sighed, staring at his figure in the mirror. When he did this he always thought about his family. He knew nothing lasted forever, but demons were supposed to last quite some time. 20,000 years was like the age 34 for a human. The middle of life, where some found themselves having children or something along those lines. He was just constantly angry that his parents were torn from him at such a young age.
Terrence tore his gaze away from the mirror, loosening his bow tie before taking it off completely. He unbuttoned the button on his collar, taking his socks off as well. He liked to feel comfortable in his own home, and since it was Ana's too now, he wanted her to feel the same.
He exited his bedroom, shutting the door softly behind him. He walked down the stairs, taking a seat at the table where him and Ana were to have a short meal. He hadn't made any noise yet, leaving her to look outside the window. Terrence loved the view himself, and often doubted that the land that stretched all the way to the wall was his. But it was.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Terrence asked, a few demons setting a plate and silverware down in front of him. He plucked the wine glass off the table, holding it while a demon filled it with red wine. He swished it around before taking a slight sip. The bottle was set at the center of the table, in Terrence's reach.
"You might think I have grown accustomed to the view by now. But no, I am still in awe of how beautiful this all is..." Terrence admitted, watching Ana. He smirked at the sight of her outfit. It was pretty, but he wasn't dressed as she was. His shirt was wrinkled from sitting, his feet were bare and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He made a mental note to badger Lazarus about the outfit he picked out for her.
"I am a very, very young king. My father was crowned king at the age of 12,000 and I am only about 2,500 years old. You tend to lose track as time goes on, so I estimate..." Terrence laughed as Lazarus brought a dish filled with Terrence's favorite meal: lasagna.
"I've seen so many kingdoms flourish and crumble, but this one has stayed for centuries. It's walls have stayed strong, it's people happy. I found it all overwhelming my first few years as king. It was an abrupt crowning as my father and mother died, leaving the kingdom without a ruler. But now I find it all so welcoming, and I hope you do too. Please, sit." Terrence said, plopping a large chunk of lasagna or his plate.

XXXLost deep in her thoughts, the female continued to stare at the land just beyond the castle she presumed she would never be allowed to leave. The thought shot needles through her heart, causing an ache inside her chest. She had always longed to leave her own castle, and now that she had finally left her home, she thought she would have been able to explore. The female jumped at the sound of the demon's deep, husky voice, she hadn't heard him come in. "Yes... It really is something... The land of my parents kingdom was awful nice.. But this.. It's almost hard to believe it's real" she said softly. Ana said all this with her face to the window, and even while Terrence spoke about how he'd never gotten quite used to the way his land impacted him, she still starred out the window in awe. When Terrence started to speak about himself, she listened carefully, curious about how different human and demons were. When she was told to sit, Anastasia took one last long look out the window before she took her seat beside him. She noticed that he looked more comfortable. He no longer had that evil, cold stare that had haunted her at the ceremony. In fact, if Ana hadn't know better, she would have thought that this man sitting in front of her was someone else. She took a few moments to admire him as he focused on something that seemed to be coming from the kitchen, or so she assumed. His arms were much bigger than those of any man she'd seen, he was tall and lean and his shoulders were square. His face was smooth and untouched by anything, he also had a button nose, which some might find odd, but she found oddly adorable. "So how long do demons usually live?...." she asked, her eyes moving away before he noticed, focusing on the silverware. Anastasia knew better than to talk at the dinner table, but she was to be a queen, when he got them to be wed and all, so she thought she should try to get to know the man she'd be forced to spend the rest of her days with. She watched as the lasagna was placed on the table, she eyed it curiously, never had she quite eaten something that looked like this. She watched as Terrence took some of the whatever and plunked it down onto his plate. She blinked for a few moments, her mind a thousand miles away.
XXX She snapped out of her daze and mimicked Terrence's action, taking a much, much smaller piece. She lifted her fork, careful to keep her elbows off the table top, and put a piece of the food into her small mouth. Her eyes were wide with shock. This tasted like nothing she'd ever eaten before in her life. She chewed slowly and let the flavours last as long as she could before she swallowed. "Pardon my asking..." she said softly, her voice trailing off as she chewed nervously at her bottom lip for a bit. "But.. What are we eating?.. I've never in my life eaten something so.. Flavourful....." she said, looking from her plate to him. She could see that the food they were eating was something Terrence enjoyed to eat all the time. She could tell by the size of the portion on his plate, and also by the way he looked as he ate. It was the same way a child would look when they were given a sweet treat. It must be lonely.. Living in such a beautiful palace all alone, with no one to share with other than the people who serve you... she thought to herself. The thought made her feel sorry for the demon king, and somehow, she understood why he'd made the deal with her parents. "Have you always lived on your own?.." she asked, unable to stop herself. She doubted that he'd always been alone, a man that looked such like the one before her could not have been lonesome for long. He must have had other women crawling all over him, and who was he to turn them away?.. No man ever did. Ana's Outfit

Terrence dug his fork into the soft pasta, the smell making him smile. At first, Terrence hated the idea of eating. You smashed things up with the bones in your mouth, and swallow the goop that was left. It was unappetizing and the thought made the king shiver. But the first meal he ever ate was Lazarus' lasagna. He ate almost the entire pan of pasta and cheese, leaving a bit for his parents who didn't seem to mind at all.
When Ana asked how long demons lived, he shrugged.
"That definitely depends. The longest living demon I've heard of is nearly 150,000 years. Some die younger than that, as demon hunters do exist, and are a problem. That's why the walls outside the kingdom were built. I'll have to take you to see it someday..." Terrence smiled, wiping his mouth and taking a sip of wine. He really wanted Ana to feel comfortable in his home. She was to be the queen, after all.
There was a silence, but it wasn't awkward. Terrence was happily eating his food while Lazarus prepared the dishwasher, but secretly eavesdropped. The demon remembered a few times when Terrence said something incredibly rude to one of his partners, resulting in a fork stuck in his chest. Terrence was so incredibly angry that he couldn't speak. He just opened his mouth, exhaled, and then shut his mouth, over and over again. Wanting no harm to come to the woman, Lazarus quickly escorted her out.
Terrence almost laughed when Ana asked what they were eating. He knew her kingdom was not as great as his, but who can not have lasagna as a regular meal?
"It's called lasagna. It it mostly the only thing I eat... Have you really not tried it? That's a shame..." Terrence completely dug into his plate, eventually going in for another piece. When asked if always lived alone, he leaned back in his chair in thought.
"Mmm... pretty personal question, but you are my soon to be wife, so I will tell you. I had my mother and father until the age of about... 1300. Since then, I've had other women and they would live with me, but I would grow bored quickly. I thought, maybe it's because they are my own kind? So I made a deal with your father. I waited until you became of age, and I came to collect you. I'll just have to see..." Terrence answered, spooning more lasagna into his mouth. He left a small portion for her, Lazarus coming by to scoop his plate and glass up. Terrence wiped his mouth, watching as Ana stiffly ate her food.
"You do realize that you're a queen now, correct? Whatever they taught you in your kingdom, you can forget. Eat how you want, there's no one here who will judge you." Terrence mumbled, smiling lazily. He himself disregarded every rule he learned from the humans. He ate his back hunched over, elbows on the table at all times and ate fast. He wanted Ana to feel comfortable in her own home, so he decided to show her how comfortable he was.
Stretching back, Terrence exhaled softly when his bones popped. He stood, pushing his chair in.
"I do have a small library up stairs. Just a few favorites/ Take some time to familiarize yourself with the palace... It's yours after all..." Terrence said softly,"I'll be in my chambers, should you need me."

XXX Watching Terrence go about his meal and their conversation was a little hard for Anastasia. The male was so laid back and confident in himself, he never paused to think about how to phrase things, he simply spoke. Unlike her. Ana's parents always taught her to mind her manners and her tongue when she was around other people. Even now, when she was god only knew how many miles away from her home and the people she cared most about, she still thought about how to speak and what to say. When he told her about the oldest living demon, she felt sorry for Terrence. Spending 150,000 years on earth, losing people you loved and having to continue on without them, knowing you'd be stuck here for another 100,000 years until you could hopefully be reunited with them. The thought saddened her. Her small smile disappeared as he spoke about his parents and the partners he'd had. So she'd been right to assume she wouldn't be the first woman he'd ever brought home. I'm going to be his wife.... That means he'll want children.... That means.... Oh dear god.... her mind ran wild with thoughts and horrifying images about her and Terrence. She shivered and did her best to listen to the conversation. Her mind was running wild, thoughts appearing out of thin air. And although the silence in the room was neither bothersome or awkward, it didn't help ease her of the things she was fearing. She'd never been with a man before, never even kissed someone before, but now she was to marry someone she hardly knew and share a bed with them? The thought made her insides flip with anxiety and nervousness.
XXX When he answered her question about what they were eating, she watched as he lifted another huge slab of the lasagna and place it on his plate. He must really enjoy it if he was willing to eat nearly the whole tray. Doing her best to eat, so she didn't seem rude, she ran the napkin over her lips and smoothed out the one over her legs. "It's really delicious... But I don't think I can have anymore..." she said softly as she set her silverware down. Thinking about sleeping with a man as big and strong as Terrence had put Ana off her food. In fact, she'd eaten little all day, but she couldn't stomach another forkful of anything. She watched as the demon king polished off his meal, almost expecting him to lick the plate clean before he leaned back, his muscles flexing beneath the tight fabric of his shirt. If she hadn't known better, she would have thought the shirt would rip right off, revealing, she assumed, a chiseled chest that would resemble a god. The thought of seeing Terrence without a shirt made Ana feel funny, she'd never felt a drive to see someone without clothing on, nor had she ever had a feeling quite like the one she had now, around Terrence. But she didn't let her thoughts register on her face, too afraid that he would be able to read her thoughts if they were to be scribbled across her eyes and features.
XXX As Terrence rose, he told her about the small library and how he was headed to his quarters. She rose with a sudden quickness that she nearly fell over. Catching herself, Ana's cheeks turned a bright pink, the flush adding heat to her insides. "Sorry...." she breathed softly. She hadn't meant to rise so quickly, nor did she even understand why she'd rose at all. But the thought of both being alone and being escorted made her feel awfully lonely. "Would it be alright if I went with you?... Maybe you could show me to the library before you head to your quarters?..." she asked, looking down as she pulled at her finger tips. She bit her lip nervously, knowing she should have stayed quiet and done as she had been told. "I miss my family.... I miss them all so much... And this place is so... Big... Why I feel like I'd get lost after just one single step... It's so big... And awfully empty..." she whispered to the floor. She was afraid to look at Terrence, she'd spoken and she'd gotten up before he'd left. She was also asking an awful lot of questions that were none of her business. Her mother had always told her that her curiosity would one day get her into a lot of mischief. But it was a part of who she was. Ana could not stop being curious as much as a cat could avoid casing a mouse, it was just natural to her. Her chewed her bottom lip and pulled on her fingers until she winced. Her eyes looked down at the small circle of red that had appeared on the tip of her finger, she'd done it again, her nervousness had gotten the better of her.
