Name: Canoake *ca-noa-ka*
Age:35 turns *8/16*
Gender:female
Sexual Orientation: Yes please
Former Craft: Weaving/Mending
New Rank:Wing Rider

History: Canoake was born to Deneeva and Brymellan, 35 turns ago in Benden Weyr. Her mother was a cavern worker who maintained the storage for clothes, threads, and other weaving equipment that came into the weyr and her father was a former candidate who went back to his craft of weaving after he failed to Impress. Canoake was born not screaming but staring at all those before her. The midwife had to smack her bottom to get her to cry and even then, it was more of a complaint. As she grew, everyone remarked about how delicate and pretty the young girl was and so this was how she acted. Even at a young age, she was attracted to boys and would act adorable to get what she wanted, when she wanted it. Once she was old enough for chore assignment, Canoake would make sure to get paired with someone she could charm so she would get out of doing any real hard work.

The only acceptation to this was when one of the dragon riders needed help with cleaning, feeding, tending, etc to their beloveds. And then, Canoake could not help enough. At an early age, she identified herself with a mighty and aloof gold and to this day, that is how she sees herself. Once she hit ten turns, her mother and father requested, demanded, whatever, that she take up some sort of craft. Colors and pretty clothing always appealed to her so she began her stint and continues it as a weaver though she has not formally gained her apprenticeship. Once puberty hit around 15 turns, her pixie frame filled out to a rather attractive young woman and thus began phase two of her plan to become well known. Yes, she has hopped the beds of several bronze and brown riders; no she doesn't regret her decision. And she has made friends with a female green rider to take her between once a month as well as keeping good track of her womanly cycle. While she envies her parents in their love and dedication to each other, Canoake was and is determined not to be a nobody. As with any child born to the weyr, she had the immediate right to stand on the sands when there is a gold egg but with Benden's attitude, she finds it hard to stand any other time. Even though she knows she will Impress Gold someday, Canoake would not be stupid enough to be prejudiced towards the other colors. Still, she refusing to be low browed and has stood since she was 13 turns, hoping that her dragon was out there or she could formally get the MasterWeaver's attention so that she may transfer out of Benden.

Thankfully, Canoake not only stood but she Impressed in this last clutch. It was unfortunate that she had only a green but then her wheels immediately started turning on how she could use this to her advantage. And by the First Egg, Canoake was pleased that her Tatath was just as clever and witty as she.

Since the Revolution, Canoake and Tatath have been enjoying a new, equal status at Benden. They do not mind that Keller and his whers seem to still have a biased opinion of dragons. She is working, slowly and confidently to improve their standing.

{TIME JUMP}
What could be said during these past Turns? She has been spy, a fighter, a lover, a rebel and so much more. Canoake always had her finger in the pies and made sure that no matter what path she took, she would be on the winning side. So when time finally came (she really did feel bad about Sharath's poisoning) to push Keller's back against the wall, she and Tatath had no qualms about turning coat.

She was thick as thieves with several riders and when battle approached, Canoake made sure to make mention of hidden areas, places that were easily accessible and other tidbits of information to the invaders. Heading to Trine to claim the status of a refugee, her ear was to the ground when the second attack occurred. One thing about Canoake, she was a good fighter thanks to her training, and was fierce. All or nothing, the woman and dragon participated in the battle, aiding where it was best and making sure to report runners. After the change of status quo, Canoake made it clear that it was about time for greens (and other dragons) to have their place in Pern. Interested in a position of power, she has been waiting for a good time to present herself. For now, she enjoys her duties and the new freedoms earned.

Appearance: A gold in human form is how Canoake describes herself. She is 5'6", 135lbs with curves that would distract anyone. And she knows how to use them. Her bust would be a 40D with a realistic waist and bottom. Canoake boasts of dark brown, almost black hair that slightly lightens during the times Benden has decent sunlight. Her eyes are a dark green and her skin tone at best would be a lighter cream color. She had an oval face with a wide mouth, raspberry lips; a long nose that turns up at the end, her eyes are rather large but well spaced. She had higher arched eyebrows and thick lashes. She is slightly toned from having to haul rolls of cloth but not extraordinarily large; she doesn't want to appear anything less than feminine. Her favorite colors are red, russet brown and gold. She enjoys wearing hoop earrings and wildly patterned headbands that give her the look of a trader though she had never ventured outside of Benden Weyr. Her feet are small and her smile generous. On the occasion, she will wear bracelets given to her by various friends and lovers.

On a side note, Canoake is slightly bow-legged and she doesn't like her feet. Because of this, she will wear calf boots or knee boots to draw more attention to her legs and body than her feet. When she gets angry or upset, she has the bad habit of biting her nails.

Personality: If it's male, even if it's female, Canoake exists to charm them. She loves being loved and is selfish for attention. Whether she has to exaggerate on what tasks and responsibilities she has been given for the day or finding new ways to lower the neckline of her shirts, Canoake wants to be noticed. She prefers to be the center of attention but if it doesn't suit her current goal or task, then she is willing to supportive. After all, who knows when that person can return the favor? And because of this, she sometimes allows herself to be underestimated and unappreciated until it is time for her to come in and save the day.

Not to say this is a bad thing, especially for one living in the weyr who wants more out of her life than to be the espoused of a cavern worker or married off to a cot holder. No, no. Canoake has plans and plans to make sure her plans succeed. Because of this, she is an excellent organizer and plotter. She has a way with people that can either come off as manipulative or charming, depending on what has to be done and who she is trying to charm. Canoake doesn't have the time or the patience for those who stand in the way of her goals and will trample over them to get what she wants in a timely fashion. Her temper burns hot and furious but burns quickly. After having her fit, Canoake will simply move on and dismiss the person from her thoughts.

Very rarely does she let anyone past the shell that she has erected around her true self, the person she can be most honest with when she is alone and out of the spotlight. Inside, she is scared and insecure about her future. Since she can remember, Canoake has worried about being worn out and broken like her mother and other cavern workers. Though she knows she is was not born any better than any of the other weyr brats, she plans on being the one every person talks about and tries her hardest to make a lasting impression on those who can help her get ahead in life. Canoake has no true friends for which she regrets but friends are only tethers that hold one back from progressing forward in life. Who knows? Maybe one day, her connections will lead her out of the caverns and into the glow light where she knows she truly belongs.

Since Impressing Tatath, Canoake has her one true friend and companion. Tatath has some idea of her rider's fears and concerns and down her best to comfort her rider when she has an episode.

Virtues: Confident, Independent, Planner, Organized
Flaws: Selfish, Manipulative, Impatient

Other: Canoake truly believes herself to be a gold in human form. Everything she does is so that she can get ahead in life and make things better for herself. On a positive note, she does know how to lead people and with the right amount of coaxing or complimenting, get them to do what she wants... Canoake can just be overbearing about it if you give her too much power. She is actually brilliant at weaving patterns even if she doesn't like to admit it to others. Canoake can also speak in front of others without getting stage fright.

As far as her view on the Atypes, if they can survive, great. If not, who cares? Just another stepping stone or a stone blocking her path to greatness. She would not be afraid to use them for her purposes if the chance occurred but other than that, they are pretty much invisible to her.

Come away from the dullards, Canoakemine, and shine with your Tatath!

Name: Tatath
Colour: Green
Animal: Nembrotha Cristata
Personality:
If vanity were a dragon, Tatath would be her name. This little green is all about one thing: the way she looks, and the way others look in comparison to the way she looks. Tatath has an insatiable need for attention. Instinctively she knows the best way to get said attention is to be so strikingly radiant, so head-turning, that no one will look anywhere else.
This would be a perfect plan... if it weren't for those blasted queens.

Tatath can't blame the dumb males for being drawn to the way the gold dragons are shiny. It's the other girls that may be fawning, and sighing, and gossiping over them that she can't handle. She dislikes queen dragons and any girls who look up to them with a passion-- even riders! She should be the prettiest! It's not her fault she was born green. And while Tatath privately thinks she's the most gorgeous dragon on all of Pern, she knows that she can't compete with how important and special queens are. Tatath looks the best, is the best, but she is under appreciated to all except Hers!

Otherwise Tatath has a bit of a complex. She's proud, she's petty, she's passive aggressive, and rather vindictive to anyone who crosses her. Tatath thinks herself smarter than your "average green" and looks down on male dragons, who she feels are inferior and stupid for mooning over females that aren't her.

Objectively, Tatath is a rather striking green. She is very small and sleek even for her color, as if built for speed and acrobatics. Hers better watch out: riding Tatath will never be easy when there are other dragons around to show off to! Mating Flights are her absolute favorite time of course... but Tatath can get out of hand if another green has the audacity to rise when she's in the middle of her own Flight.

Because of her tiny stature and desire to look immaculate, Tatath will never be a dragon to pick fights openly. But this doesn't bother her... because she shares a sisterly bond with Yanath, who she regards fondly as a the dumb brawn to her cunning brain. Let Yanath pick her fights and do her dirty work. Her sister isn't the /brightest/, but Tatath grudgingly admits that her sister's hide is fairly prettier than most. Certainly not as pretty as Tatath's own. But hey-- Yanath can try for second best, can't she?

Why Me!?
There’s really not a whole lot to say about why these two are perfect for each other! Watch out, though, with two like-minded individuals like this the Weyr is bound to have its fair share of drama! Tatath thinks she’s better than a Gold, and Canoake can only share this sentiment about other females! Canoake has the need, the drive, and the skill to make herself the center of attention with or without a dragon. Tatath would love this about her, because any attention her rider garners gets reflected onto Tatath! They’re sisters in arms, and belong together. Simple and clean!
