The Amaya Family Fruit Stand or "The Fruit Stand" stands outside the residence of the Amaya family. It is owned by a Haka by the name of Amaya Akemi, but is taken care of most of the time by his Gehaka, Amaya Akio or their son, a gehaka by the name of Amaya Hikaru. It is a family run business that supplies the family with a little extra money, as it is the only fruit stand in town, and is very popular.

Although The Fruit Stand is not elaborately decorated or overly ornamental, it serves its purpose well. All are welcome to come and buy fresh fruit at a reasonable price from the Amaya family.

Hikaru was amazed that his mother had let him off for the day. It was a rare event, but since it was a lovely day outside, Hikaru decided that it would be best to go for a walk. He was an odd gehaka, his white hair shining almost transparently in the sun. Hikaru was a very very CLEAN gehaka, and he made sure of it. His mother, Amaya Akemi, had taught him that he would be more easily taken in by a Haka if he smelled fresh and was clean. Hikaru took the words to heart, and was almost obsessed with keeping himself clean. He scrubbed himself almost to the point where he was raw, and covered himself with sweet smelling oils. He brushed his hair over and over again until every stray hair was either torn out or forced into place. But Hikaru couldn't remember if he had put his hairbrush back into place. If he hadn't, he would surely hear about it when he got home. He tried to shrug it off and went walking down Main Street.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It was a fine day to be out and about. The golden sphere that was the sun shone brightly overhead even though it did little to the chilly air that the land was currently encased in during early spring.

Making his way through the mid-day crowd with unhurried footsteps, Aya's facial expression was one of deep thought as he pondered over the meeting that he just had with one of his business partners mere moments ago. He would have to go through the proposal in greater detail once he got back before informing the other male of his final decisions. Slow and steady. That was how he had always been ever since he had learnt the ropes of managing the household as well as the shop from his mother till the day he had breathed his last.

Violet eyes widened a little in surprise at the sight of the rosey red apple that laid on the ground at the Fujimiya clan Haka's feet. A slight tilt of his head showed Aya the reason next. He was standing at the front of a fruit stand.

Innately grateful for the distraction, the red-haired Haka inched closer so that he could have a better look at the fruits that were available. Perhaps munching on some fresh fruits would make the task at hand more bearable for him later on in the day...

Masae hated crowds. A frown set on his face he allowed the gehaka to barge a path to the fruit stall for him. Strolling at a leisurely pace he was glad of the shade of his paralsol as he approached the stall.

There was nothing he liked more on a hot day than fresh fruit. Strawberries to be exact. This stall was famous for it's large, ripe strawberries. He was so intent on finding the perfect strawberry that he almost didn't see the Haka perusing the fruits.

He was about to make a comment about being in the way when he realised the haka was one of the council members. He vaguely remembered his face from a festival a while back. Taking a step back he bowed.
"Fujimiya sama. What a pleasant suprise." He began, feeling that was as good a way as any to start a conversation.

Click to show.Peering into the basket that he had set atop the pile of oranges just a little to his right, Aya couldn't resist smiling inwardly to himself at the sight of the rosey red apples and bunches of grapes that were laid out in plain view for him to see. He had personally picked them himself and it was practically making his mouth water at the thought of how sweet they were going to taste if they tasted as good as they looked.

Hmm... there seemed to be something missing though. Oh yes... pears. Just as the red-haired Haka was about to pick up his basket of fruits so that he could embark on his search for pears to add to his collection, he heard someone address him by his family name and stopped.

Unlike some other Hakas, he wasn't the sort who would expect every Gehaka and Haka who were lower in status than himself to greet him whenever he was on the streets. Nope, definitely not his style at all but it definitely wouldn't hurt for him to return the greeting to whoever had initiated it.

There was a soft rustling sound of kimono against the ground when Aya turned to face the other Haka, a soft smile on his face as he bowed slightly in greeting to Ametani Masae. The young Haka knew who he was. He had to since he was a member of the council in this quaint little town.

"Ah... Ametani-san. Good day to you. What a pleasant coincidence indeed..."

Kageki walked down the street, pleased for once, to have the day off. Usually the blonde enjoyed his work but when it involved babysitting his rather tomboyish Haka cousin, well to say the least it was tireing. Shinku was to be married soon to his first husband. A Hachiro something who mother was a silk weaver. At least Shinku had some taste when it came to who he should marry.

The Gehaka was so focused on his thoughts he nearly bumped into the two haka talking. He caught himself in time giving a deep bow and a mutttered"I'm sorry sir," before he walked around to look at the fruit. The strawberry looked ohh so good.

Masae picked up one of the strawberries and inspected it carefully. This was an awkward situation indeed. Masae didn't particularly want to start a conversation with a council member but he had been brought up to be polite. Annoying those higher than yourself was never a good idea.
"How have you been Fujimiya sama. It has been a while since I saw you last."

Smiling he held the strawberry up to the sunlight. It was perfect. He signalled to the gehaka with him to order a box full from the stall owner.

The Fujimiya clan Haka smiled when he spotted what he was looking for in a box not too far from his right. Stretching out his hand so that he would not have to walk round Masae in order to get to them, he quickly made his selection before handing his almost full basket to his Gehaka escort so that the stall owner could tally up as well as pack his purchases into the necessary bags.

If only Masae knew that he was not alone in his opinion about the current conversation. That Aya too was equally, if not even more, adverse to striking up a conversation with another Haka in a public place where he was liable to the scrutiny of many a pair of wandering eyes from curious on-lookers nearby.

It was the main reason why he tried his best to not leave the safety comforts of his own home other than for the purpose of attending to the Tsuki No Hana jewelry shop that he owned or for the council meetings. As one of the higher ranking Hakas in this town, he had to keep up apperances and Aya could only hope that Masae wasn't one of those Hakas who expected certain... qualities in someone of his status.

Masae nodded, it was a tough job, being on the council as well as running a shop. A job he was glad he did not have.
Masae thought for a moment turning his attention briefly back to the fruit store and pointing the gehaka in the direction of some apples.

"I too have been busy with work." He confessed. "I have been rather tied up with inheritance plans after deciding to take a mate." He said taking an orange and also inspecting it. Pleased with the way the sun reflected off its bright skin he handed it to his gehaka escort. "Rather more trouble than it's worth. Don't you think?"

Although Masae appeared to be a few years younger than himself, he was definitely by all means of an eligible age for such a major phase of his life.

"Well... I would say that it's a rather subjective matter Ametani-san. If you don't mind my curiosity, might I ask who's the lucky Gehaka and what drew you to him in the first place..?"

Aya inquired with a smile as long slender fingers picked up an orange and turned it slowly so that he could inspect it proper. It looked pretty good but he would probably have to buy some another day instead. His mother had always taught him that it was best to buy fruits and consume them within a day or two lest they turned bad and he had never veered too far from that particular practice.

User ImageKageki shamelessly eased dropped on the two Haka. Aunt and mother would be intrested in the information he picked up, specialy when one was a council member.

His muttered a order of a small thing of strawberries, and turned to the apples runing his skilled, cleaver hands over the smooth skin fruit in search of flaws. He was hungry, and buying gave him a pretext to stay near the beautiful hakas.

Masae adjusted the sleeves of his kimono and allowed his eyes to wander to the street. Gehaka and Haka went about their daily business ducking out the way of traffic and irritating salesmen.
"Arehoudai, Enju." He said casually taking his fan and flicking it open. "What drew me to him?" A slight smirk flickered across Masae's pale features. "I spent an afternoon talking with him and he did not repulse me." He was outwardly frank with Aya. Why lie, gehaka existed to fill a certain place. Those with idiotic notions of affection and attraction were clearly fooling themselves. "Not an easy feat. I find many gehaka impossibly tedious." He sighed tapping the fan against his thigh.

"How about you Fujimiya san? Any plans for marriage?"

Setting down the orange so that Masae could have his full undivided attention, Aya smiled politely at the pale Haka, his expression otherwise neutral as a reflection of what he thought of Masae's opinions with regards to his mate.

Ever since young, he had learnt from mere observation of the myriad of personalities of the many customers that frequented the jewelry shop. How various aspect of their speech and body language revealed nuances of their own character.

Of course Aya was not in any position to judge others given that he knew nothing of them nor their past. In fact, it wasn't rare for some Hakas to possess a similar mindset as that of Masae's. Hakas were generally held with high regard in their society and this was merely one of the ways that some Hakas chose to assert themselves. Nothing wrong or unlawful about that in itself though.

The young Haka shook his head gently at the question that had been directed at him next. His work had been keeping him busy the entire while such that he hardly had time to sit down and think about his future. Besides, he still had his brother Itsuki so he wasn't really in dire need of companionship anytime soon. Not when Itsuki was already quite a handful at times. That kind of thing can wait.

"I'm afraid not anytime soon though. I haven't had much time for myself lately because of my duties, much lest to say for a mate should I manage to find one eventually..."
