Legs pumping and chest heaving Kirkland ran after the girl who was now jogging backwards, ignoring his commands near entirely. He found this rather annoying. Fumbling for his badge he brought its gleaming mass in front of him, showing the girl that he was the real deal, then saying

"Miss, huff huff, in the name of, huff huff, of the law. You, huff, you need to, huff huff, to stop. Oh god." his speech broken by heavy panting. Conjuring up his reserves of strength and stamina he began gaining on the girl, lowering his badge and raising his other arm, hand reaching with fingers spreading wide as if to catch her.

Shambling to a halt before the unknown woman with his chest heaving and mind reeling from the physical exertion, Kirkland, who was bending at the wait with his hands on his knees, put up a hand to signify he needed a moment. After all it wasn't everyday that stuff like stars falling out the skies and strange glowing women ran about, the poor sod was only a human with human limitations. Regaining his breath, and his balance, the officer stood up straight to address the woman saying,

"Ma'am, I am officer Kirkland Osmier and I need to ask you some questions." his voice full of authority, tinged with fatigue. Before launching in though he threw a quick glance over his shoulder, checking to see if anyone was within earshot of them, luckily none were. Turning back the woman, doing his best not to react to incessant glare she put off, he gave a cough as to clear his throat. Locking eyes with the woman he said,

"Ma'am, as both you and I are well aware of an unknown object just touched down somewhere in the downtown area. As I saw you running away from where the object landed I'd like to ask you a few things. Did you see anyone hurt seriously before you left the area? What kind of damage did the object cause, if any? Are you trained in first aid and CPR? I have a feeling we'll need anyone and everyone who can help." the questions coming fast and without pause, Kirkland was in his "serious" mode now. Not a force on earth would shake him now... Or well... At least anything that he could rationalize.
