__________________________________________________ 【.background information.】 __________________________________________________ Kathleen was born to two not very wealthy parents. Her mother was an alcoholic and
her father was only seen a few times a week because he spent each day gambling or
playing darts at the local pub. However it was not her own family’s ignorance that
lead her to slavery. Whilst meeting a friend at their house (which was no better off than
their own) the slave hunters arrived. Their mission to capture her friend’s younger sister
and take him to the mansion because they were so poor they couldn’t feed every mouth.
Kathleen could not let her friend loose her sister and so went in her place.
Before this tragedy however, Kathleen was a simple girl with simple tastes. She taught
herself how to play piano as she could not afford any lessons and is actually good enough
to be at least grade four. Of course you tube played a big part in this.
She was very focused on her school work for many years. She wanted to better herself
in the future, to be different. She wanted to have a decent job that she enjoyed and
not end up wasting any money she did earn on drugs like her mother or on gambling ( and
inevitably losing).
