It was a beautiful day. The weather was warm, a cool breeze was in the air, and the sun was dazzling in the blue sky. Most people would enjoy this kind of weather. Ambrose however hated it. He was much more of an over-cast rain shower kind of guy. But, his appetite got the better of him and so he ventured out into the sunlight, hopping from shadow to shadow in search of something good to eat.

He came upon the café where everyone gathered. Violet eyes studied the building for a moment as he weighed the options. On one hand, the restaurant had good food at reasonable prices. On the other hand, it was sometimes crowded. He wasn’t in the mood to be a people person but the growling of his stomach vetoed his reasoning.

He grasped the brass door-knob by going up on his tippy-toes, turning it until he heard a soft click. Using all of his weight he swung the heavy wooden door open. Really, if he just grew a little more it wouldn’t be such a problem to open big doors. The door was heavy at first, but then suddenly it began to open as if by magic. This changed caused him to lose his balance and he began to stumble. It must have been funny to onlookers as he tripped over his own feet, arms flailing to regain his balance, and his wings acting like a drag chute.

With a small grunt, the armor clad boy plopped to his bottom.

The sunlight shimmered through the treetops, dancing along the forest pathway. It was indeed another perfect day for a stroll to the café. Eyllwe took a deep breath in. Nothing beat a warm day with a cool breeze flowing through her hair. Although there was something that could top this day off, and she was well on her way.

At the end of the path sat a quaint café, her birthplace of sorts. Sweet scents wafted from the building, coaxing her to come in and indulge in the assorted pastries of the day. How could she resist? The fairy had always had a slight sweet tooth and could never pass up afternoon tea at The Cauldron. Her hand twisted the door knob, giving a slight push the door opened and gave way to a more prominent mixture of savory and sweet scents.

Giving a few flutters of her wings, the fairy floated into the café, closing the door behind her. “Good afternoon everyone~” Eyllwe gave a few nods to the familiar faces she saw on almost a daily basis. She made her way over to her usual table and made a graceful landing. Smoothing out her skirt, the fae took a seat, excited to see the menu for this afternoon’s tea.

It wasn’t long before Eyllwe heard another patron entering into the café, her head turning towards the door in curiosity of who it could be. She watched a child stumble into the café with difficulty. The poor thing had lost his footing and ending up getting a tad familiar with the floor. The fairy couldn’t help but give a slight chuckle. Although she frequents the café quite often, she hadn’t seen this child before.

Eyllwe crossed the room towards the toddler, stopping at his table. “Hello there~” She formed a soft smile. “My name is Eyllwe, may I join you?” It seemed just as a perfect day as any other to make new friends.

Merveilleux Yuki

Ambrose had been in the process of composing himself when he heard a voice speak to him. It was a gentle voice flowing with kindness... and that kindness made a shiver run down his spine. Only fools were kind in his eyes. Looking up to the woman, he began to speak in a moody childish tone: "If I wanted a strangers company I... wuh...." He started to complain, at least until his eyes fully focused on the woman. His words soon disappeared and his jaw dropped. Stunning..l. For a moment his senses dulled and he stared at her with a confused look upon his face. A chorus of birds sang in his ears as rays of light illuminated Eyllwe from behind.

Back to reality...

A faint redness came across his cheeks as he shook any inappropriate thoughts out of his growing adolescent mind. "You may join me if you wish, but only if you buy me lunch." He said as a mumble.

"My name is Ambrose." He moved to the closest chair and pulled it out. It could have been a cute gesture. The small boy pulling a chair out for a beautiful lady, but Ambrose was the one that graced the wooden seat. He had to scoot the chair closer to the table using his weight, causing the chair to squeak several times against the floor.

Looking at her he rose an eyebrow. "Well, you going to sit or not?" Such a charming child, wasn't he?
