What are you writing this year? What do you want to achieve by the end of the summer (or during Camp NaNoWriMo)?
I'm writing a novel for my MA right now, so I guess my goal will be to make some good progress on that. I think I'll have a conservative goal of 75k words on Penumbra! *phew*

I'm writing a story called Raised by Death. I'm hoping to get 40k words by the end of the summer. It might not be much, but I know my energy is low, and if I do more, then I can be pleasantly pleased with myself instead of setting a high goal and falling short.

I'm writing a novel that I have yet to designate a title, and my goal is 100k words. I have all summer, and I feel like I can do this in three months.

Some fabulous goals, guys!
Lily: I think 40k is a perfectly acceptable goal. Honestly in the last few years I haven't written as much as I'd like over the summer, so 75k might be pushing it a bit for me. But in the old days I could easily write 100K+ over the summer (I did that much during NaNo!) so I'm going to try really hard. Plus I kind of need a finished first draft by the end of September if I'm going to stick to my own internal deadlines.
Kitten: I have no doubt you can do it! It's only around 30k a month which is definitely manageable - only really 1k words a day. whee

I'm feeling very ambitious, so I'm going for 150k words. I figure if I can do 50k words for NaNoWriMo, then I can do 3x that for an event that's 3x as long.
I only hope my hands don't fall off from all the writing/typing. lol

PMS: I actually struggle really hard to be realistic. I habitually overestimate and underestimate myself, so I honestly don't know what I can/can't achieve. But if I set a goal too low, I can't feel any real pride in my acomplishment. If I set it too high and fail, I'll get depressed and beat myself up about it. So, taking into consideration how tired I've been, and that I'll have a son out of school underfoot, it seemed a good idea to go 'lower'.

Lily: I think that 40k is an entirely respectable goal! I also struggle to estimate what I can and can't do. In my early years, as I said, I could write a LOT more. The last couple of summers I haven't even hit 10k! And that was probably because I set my goals too high and got disillusioned... So I think a sensible goal, when you're busy and tired, is the best way to go. =D
Elemental: Very ambitious!! I hope your hands don't fall off, too. We don't want lots of limbs cluttering the thread. emotion_awesome I bet you can do it, though. It's certainly an achievable goal, especially if you keep yourself motivated and don't burn out!
