Self Rolling Camera

The camera is essentially a small, self rolling ball, similar to various dog toys, although capable of being thrown, rolled, and generally absorbing impacts and hits in use. Possessing a high strength, polymer hexagonal frame, and 36 shock sensitive cameras, the camera is capable of being thrown, beaten, and generally kicked around. The camera's additional self rolling ability allows it to be steered or maneuvered into position, to allow the viewer to get a clear view of their target. With multiple cameras and a 360 degree view, the rolling ball can give a clear map out of a room, and provide video surveillance to the user wirelessly. Most importantly, the camera can be used around cover, allowing the user to position or throw a ball around a corner, and then have the ball roll into place to allow the user to see the target or the area without having to expose themselves. While the small size and camouflaged nature of the ball is usually enough to conceal it from the enemy, even if spotted, it nonetheless can be used to gather invaluable intelligence on the enemy forces, without soldiers being exposed to enemy fire.

The Camera is based on the Panono [1][2], using a similar frame, cameras, and wireless nature. Instead of relaying information to an iphone, it instead corroborates with the land warrior system, and provides up to date tactical information from the camera via it's wireless receiver. Unlike a standard Panono camera, however, it is self rolling, or can be moved on it's own. The ball, also controllable by an Iphone (or in this case, a similar Armscale computer), can be controlled both by pad, and also by the user's nueroheadset, which allows for handsfree maneuvering. Capable of being deployed and additionally rolled into the place, the camera can not only provide information to the individual user, but to the entire squad, which is useful for determining if the area they're about to move into is safe, and to determine where the targets are before an engagement. The self rolling ball can not only roll on it's own, with a self powered motor, but is also capable of scaling at least 24 inches, or 2 feet, by bouncing upwards into the enemy. To clear light obstacles, such as an uneven hill, rocks, or simple elevation differences, the ball can lift itself into the air, and thus can be used to "roll over" objects in it's path that would be inaccessible by a ball that could only roll. In a way, the ball could be seen as "self bouncing", as well.

It is however combined with the In combination with it's high strength, hexagonal polymer frame, it also uses shock absorbing rubbers and gels, similar to impact gel. This allows the camera to be thrown or abused, which opens up a variety of different conditions it can be used in. It is both shock and water proof, and generally is airtight, which protects it from a number of different environmental hazards. It's small size and similar shape makes it deployable in a manner roughly comparable to a grenade, although unlike a grenade, it's unlikely to kill or harm anyone, and even give away the position of the user. It often comes with a tether, so that the ball is retrievable without having to be rolled back to the user. The camera The MSRP is somewhere around 850 U.S. dollars, and it comes in at approximately 16.5 ounces, or 462 grams.
