Hi-lo, I'm Noodles smile Uhm, I live in the States (New Mexico) and I was invited to this guild which is nice. Don't get a lot of invites since I'm not on a lot. I'm a part-time bookseller at a Barnes and Noble here in NM. I really enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction though I lean more towards fantasy. I like modern fantasy if its done well and I haven't read any terribly impressive historical fantasy. I prefer 3rd person writing with one exception and its always nice to read different authors :3 Hobbies, hobbies, hobbies.....cleaning house, baking, fencing, gardening and working out smile I assume reading is obvious. Some of my favorite novels/series are The Dresden Files, The Enchanted Forest series, The Rook (favoritefavorite!), Chrestomanci Chronicles...Drizzt series....There are about a hundred more but those are the tops.
I'm also attempting to write my own novel but so far I have a single paragraph. The struggle is real.
Nice to meet you all.

Welcome to the guild! Sorry it's been a few days. RL has been kicking my butt. biggrin I've always wanted to work at a bookstore. The only reason I haven't is that I'm scared I'd get fired for reading instead of working. Plus, I'd probably spend my whole paycheck on books, negating having the job in the first place. lol
What kind of book are you trying to write? And have you tried NaNoWriMo?

I get that. RL kills me when I'm working. Never have time for stuff on here....
I haven't been fired yet for being distracted by books but I have some pretty chill managers. And yeah...if I didn't have a car payment, I'd need several more bookcases for everything. I already need another and I've cut back to one or two books a paycheck.
I'm working on a fantasy novel ^^ Its fairly fun but I'm having trouble starting it. And no, what is that?

It's the National Novel Writing Month. It takes place in November and people challenge themselves to write a novel in 30 days. It's pretty fun! I used to participate every year (even if I never actually finished one). I just haven't had the time the past few years to even start. You can see the information about it on their site: NaNoWriMo.
It's a really fun community. biggrin
