Katia "Of course." She slipped from his embrace and looked to the simmering sauce with obvious anticipation. "I had feeling you would cook so I managed to keep myself from snacks." Katia was smiling, rather excitedly too towards Adam. She was trying to keep her distance from him but their previous embrace was nice. She knew firsthand how boys could get when they touch and cuddle, it wasn't their fault, they were built that way. Her father was wrong about many things but one thing that he was right about was libido, the male libido to be exact.
She enjoyed touching Adam and being as close as possible, but she didn't wish to push his mind into the darker places, at least not now. She slowly flicked her calves up and stood on her toes before lowering back down. "Ah, I do plan to cook for you as well..." Most of her recipes were things her mother taught her. She wasn't exactly against cooking, but it always reminded her of her times spent with Mother... One day she would tell Adam all about it, but tonight was there night.
"Vhat should ve do now Adam?" She inquired, she had seem lots of men make noodle dishes in her travels but she wanted to hear it from Adam, how it was done!

Adam

Adam, for his part, had never had genuine Russian food. His surname Trowbridge, from his father, gave him roots in Old England, but he never cared for English food, particularly Spam. His mother was a third-generation Italian-American, and she learned from her side of the family all the most delectable pasta and lasagna recipes. Her sauces used the freshest tomatoes and herbs, and every Sunday was essentially its own Mother's Day. Thus, his family mostly ate Italian dishes. With Katia, he was eager to see what she'd learned and taste what she cooked, and secretly hoped she was at least competent without supervision.
"All that's left to do is to put the noodles on our plates, and pour the sauce over them, and then we'll eat!" Adam then took out two royal blue ceramic dinner plates from the cupboard, placing them on the counter. He lifted the colander out of the sink, and scooped an equal amount of noodles onto the plates, then took the creamy white sauce from the stovetop and poured it over them. "It's finally time to eat, Katia," he said as he carried a full plate in each hand. "You can choose what we drink with it if you want to. We have a choice of milk, water, iced tea, orange juice... or possibly even the wine."

Katia There were times in their relationship where Katia felt very insignificant. She was famous throughout the world for her abilities as a ballerina but her dancing in general is what made her something to talk about. At this point in her life she's mastered almost every modem of dance from ballet to breakdancing and still, beside Adam she stell felt insignificant. Perhaps it was how he was raised, or how he looked at her, but something deep down made her feel like he expected something from her. She always wanted to do her best and be the best for him, but even as they blossom into lovers her same feelings continue to increase.
Hopefully she too will be able to craft a delicious dish one day that even Adam can be happy about. With her hands firmly held together at her waist she watched him prepare their meals. She then opened one of the higher cupboards to find a stockpile of wonderful glasses, some plastic for everyday use and some glass for dinners and fancy occasions. Obviously she picked two fashionable dinner glasses and filled hers with the tea she had prepared. "O-oh no Adam...You don't plan to get me drunk do you?" She laughed softly. She remembered drinking in Russia, she wasn't ever considered a heavy drinker but once she turned 16 she was able to purchase small alcoholic beverages in Moscow. A few of her old friends would attempt to see her truly drunk and only fail when she outdrank them. Katia liked to think she would be a graceful drunk...hopefully Adam would never see her that way.

Adam The fact that Katia was ethnically Russian was not lost on Adam. One of the grain-of-truth stereotypes of Russian people was that they could hold their liquor better than most, and may probably find enjoyment competing in drinking contests with those like the Irish or the Germans—last person to pass out wins. As for Katia herself, he remembered she'd once told him in passing that she'd had her share of the bottle; "alco-laws" in her homeland were different than in the schizophrenic US, namely, the minimum drinking age was 16 as opposed to 21. As Adam placed the full plates on the table, he assuaged her tongue-in-cheek concern over him deliberately getting her drunk by laughing with her. "No, no, I would never give you anything you couldn't handle." Looking back at the dish, a new thought occurred to him, and recalled another liquor-related factoid he'd heard growing up. His mother's side of the family had roots in Italy, hence their love for pasta; Italy was a country in the warm Mediterranean Sea region; Mediterranean countries were also renowned for their large, beautiful vineyards; many of their people were thus wine connoisseurs, and it followed that their attitudes toward drinking differed than those from colder, drearier countries. In other words, they were typically considered "happy drinkers", whose consumption of alcohol was simply a part of their enjoyment of life; whereas others elsewhere might be considered "unhappy", whose consumption was a way to drown their sorrows and forget their trials and tribulations. This was not, however, an indictment on Katia or anyone else—stereotypes such as those were merely exaggerations of sporadic individual truths. Katia, from what Adam had understood, was never the worse for wear after imbibing, and she probably considered herself a happy drinker anyway. In any case, he decided it was best that they not drink tonight. "We'll wait until another time to drink together, probably when I introduce you to my parents for the holidays in a couple of months. I know my mom would love you."The couple then finally sat down at the table to eat... with the steam from the sauce and noodles tantalizing their noses, it was about time.

Katia The idea of truly meeting Adams parent's was something she hadn't considered. Her father had always tried to get men to court her back in Russia and meeting their parents was always a stuffy affair. After coming to America and partaking in some of their literature and media, she's come to notice that 'meeting the parents' is a strange and monumental moment in relationships here. It was a scary and tense moment where sour relationships were often formed. Usually she was stuck making tea for her supposed in-laws while they spoke to her father about her achievements. Would Katia actually be involved in speaking with Adams parent's? She would have to study her English beforehand. "I hope so Adam..." She looked to the food placed before her and tried to forget her worries, now all she had to do was focus on Adam. "Thank you Adam, it looks wondrous. Let us eat yes?"
She was excited, Katia was always one for new experiences and her boyfriends cooking was a wonderful new thought. She then began to slowly 'dig in', after blowing on it carefully. It was unbelievably good! It was flavored to taste and didn't taste like alcohol, a previously ignorant notion she created when he introduced the wine. It was sultry and flavorful as well as filling. "Oh my. восхитительный..." She blushed, her language spouting outward in a fit of her own excitement. She paused then to take a drink of her tea which turned out to be a clever compliment to the hot noodle dish.

Adam Katia had looked somewhat apprehensive when she registered the meaning of meeting Adam's parents. Perhaps her former status as the heir apparent to her father's business empire, as well as different cultural norms, would have disallowed that possibility for her. Either way, she was now living here in America, and her progress with English under her beloved's tutelage was still going well. Adam was also pleased to see his princess enjoying his family's specialty dish, so much so she'd exclaimed praise for it in her native tongue. He wasn't nearly as versed in Russian as he probably should have been, but her tone and expression spoke volumes. Later tonight, he wanted to see that same ecstatic look on her face for a different reason... "I know meeting my parents seems like a big step," said Adam, sipping his own glass of tea. "But it's not like we're meeting them tomorrow. We still have plenty of time for you to settle in here with me and be comfortable enough. We'll continue your English lessons for as long as you feel you need them, but my parents shouldn't really care that you're not a native speaker, as long as you can get your main points across to them. And if you make any mistakes, it's not a big deal, I'll be right beside you with my arm around your waist. Just be sure to relaaaaax, and not put so much pressure on yourself, okay?"When it came to introducing a girl to his parents, Adam took the notion seriously. He wouldn't introduce someone to them whom he didn't believe would have a future with him.

Katia It was always so strange but perhaps it was a sign. Adam could always tell when she was overthinking something. Russians always stayed focused, it was a motto of sorts. Katia was no exception, when she worried and fussed over something, she stuck to it as if it were the only thing to consciously think about. Whenever she got that way around Adam though, he changed that. He would always come out of nowhere, see her worries, and throw them out on the table before stomping on them. It made her often pale cheeks blush radiantly and her heart sing... He wasn't stingy with his words either, he described the scene of meeting his parents with such easily clarity that she physically felt calm. Her shoulder's stopped being so tense and her finger's lost the need to tense into fists. 'Adam...I love you sometimes...'
"I will do my best Adam...for you." That was her way, always doing her best for him. He didn't have to try too hard to be everything she wanted, it was the least she could do. "I propose a toast..." She rose her simple glass before clearing her throat...this was quiet difficult.
"To meeting t-the parents...to our new l-life here...and to us."

Adam For one to meet another's parents was a big deal no matter how it was sliced. You were important enough to someone that you had the privilege to be introduced to the two people who gave them life. It was a key step in solidifying your deep, lifelong bond with that special someone. It was no secret to Adam that Katia could be serious and focused on things, sometimes to a fault. She knew nothing of life outside her world of wealth, which sheltered her from the brutal, harsh real world. As a result, she doubled her efforts to make herself understand, and learn what she could learn. Adam knew what it was like to feel compelled to learn something quickly, as opposed to learning for its own wonderful sake. He knew the pressure that such a focus would put one under, which made it easy for him to relate to her. Also, as an artist, it was kind of a prerequisite to be in touch with one's emotions, in order to effect brilliant creations, in order to elicit the same response from the potential audience. As a result, his words had a way of reaching her, speaking to her heart and soothing her troubles. Grateful for his presence, she'd raised her glass for a toast, to their new life and to themselves. Adam raised his own glass; it didn't have wine, but it didn't matter. "To us... and to our future together." he replied, clinking his glass with hers. The rest of their dinner passed by peacefully, with some small talk peppered here and there. Once the couple finished, he took their plates and rinsed them in the sink for one of them to wash later. He then decided to toss suggestions to her as to what they would do now. "Do you want to watch a movie with me? We have a choice between action, comedy, horror, romance, suspense, or a historical period piece."

Katia Katia's eyes almost swelled in tears when Adam made his declaration. He had added everything she could have wished for in her lonely life. Fame and precedence could wait, Adam came first. With dinner underway she enjoyed herself, making sure to balance her need to eat with her need to still seem and look graceful before her boyfriend.
Taking gentle sips of her beverage and checking every now and then swiftly for any bits of sauce left on her otherwise porcelain face. Katia was always one to make sure she looked nice, but it had become more of a habit than any necessity. Adam never let on that he cared about her ladylike trifles so she assumed it slipped under his radar.
After dinner her plate was taken and she stood to throw away her napkin as well as Adam's. She listened carefully to Adam's next suggestion and weighed her options. "Romance..." She said, when he was finished of course. Ever since coming to America she's become slightly enamored with all of the American romance dramas that seemed to exist. Those that existed nowadays were so colorful, so dramatic...she wouldn't mind cuddling with Adam and partaking. BlueRidge330 I officially love your signature. XD

Adam It didn't surprise Adam that Katia had chosen a romance as their movie of choice tonight. In fact, he was glad she did. With the genre picked out, now he had to pick the title; either a romantic comedy (of which he had only one, Julia Roberts' star-making Pretty Woman), or something largely dramatic and serious. Tracing his index finger through the DVD boxes on the shelf, he made his decision. "This one's called A Walk to Remember," he said, holding up the box so Katia could see it; the cover depicted Mandy Moore in a happy embrace with her co-star Shane West. "This is actually one of my favorite movies, and because of it, I used to have a big crush on Mandy Moore when I was a kid. But don't worry though, a crush is one thing, real love between two people—what we have— is something else entirely."With their bellies full, there was no real need to munch on snacks during the movie. So, Adam went to get themselves a cozy fleece blanket they could snuggle in. Then, he popped the disc into the DVD player and began the movie. Finally (most importantly), the pair set themselves onto the couch and covered up under the blanket. As a finishing touch, Adam made small ministrations toward Katia such as wrapping his arm behind her back, taking her right hand in his, and lacing their fingers together. The movie's title card came up, and they stayed that way for the next hour and a half. Maxy Wexerg Then I'm officially keeping it for at least the rest of the year. XD

Katia Katia cuddled close to Adam and rested her head softly against his right shoulder as her right hand was taken so warmly into his. She contemplated jumping into his lap but found comfort in the simple closeness they already created once the blanket was placed on them.
Within that potentially cute hour and half, Katia became rather vulnerable to the movies theme. Bad boy loves a good girl with nothing too fabulous about her, only to transform into her miracle. It was a beautiful story and she mentally commended her boyfriend for choosing it, he was always so open to his sensitive side.
What she wasn't prepared for though, was the twist. As the movie donned on it's most saddest scene, the soft sounds of sniffles could be heard. The once proud Russian, was crying. Watching Mandy Moore, this girl Adam said he might have a crush on, die...was painful. It was then that she related the movie to Adam himself. He was her miracle, he was her everything. She regretted it but a few of her newborn tears did fall, staining Adam's sensible shirt only slightly. As the movie came to a close, she lifted herself off of his shoulder and lightly tugged on his hand before wiping her tears with her free hand. "I apologize...I-I didn't talk throughout the movie...and I cried..." She looked down, feeling rather embarrassed. Adam's arm was around her, warming her, she felt so safe but...the movie truly was beautiful. BlueRidge330 That, is a wonderful choice in movie as well. :3 You're on a roll with me today.

Adam Their shared experience of watching a movie in the comfort of a couch and the transfer of their body heat was yet another that Adam would cherish to his very last breath, and he was sure Katia would cherish it too. While he himself had never been a "bad" boy like West's character Landon, he knew all too well the pain of being aimless and without purpose, and his paintings could only do so much to allay it without enabling it. Only after meeting Katia did he feel spiritually whole... in a sense, she saved his life just like Jamie saved Landon. "It's okay to cry," he told his princess. "You loved the movie as much as I have, and it moved you like it did me. That's the driving purpose of art, to make someone feel, whether happy, sad, or what have you. Even your dancing is an art, eliciting in your audience whichever feeling you are feeling through your motions and gestures. No matter what anyone says, it's not shameful to cry."After dinner and the movie, night had fallen, and their fellow students would be inside their own dorms doing their own business. As for Adam and Katia's business tonight... the time had come, he decided. The gaze from his ocean-blue eyes held upon her tear-stained ice-blue eyes. "There's no reason to feel embarrassed or ashamed of your feelings around me. In the privacy of our dorm, you are free to bare your entire heart, body, and soul to me, and I will bare mine to you. This is our love, and I can't live without it."Slowly, Adam drew his face close to hers, and their lips met. Maxy Wexerg That's actually one of the few things that can make me cry, along with Katawa Shoujo. THEM FEELS... :3
