I have these quirks: Sam is an intellectual who prefers to examine foes and if possible negotiate with them before actually fighting them. He is often intrigued by the scientific implications of a problem, so much so that he almost forgets there is a problem in the first place. If given the option he's willing to exterminate the threat in order to prevent further or any casualties.
We cant all have sad stories now can we? Bio- Sam was a brilliant young scientist, majored in biomedical engineering at just the age of 15. Over the years he continued excelling in Engineering, Genetics, advanced robotics etc. Saving millions of dollars for medical research all thanks to military funding and Sam began to amass an inmense fortune specially for his philantropy. His brilliant mind let him persue his dream of making the world imune from disease, after loosing his mother due to an strange strain of cancer. Sam used all his resources to create a serum that would serve as a cure to many known the diseases. Sam tried to present his project to the science community, but he couldn't prove the effectiveness of it. Thus loosing credibility and the respect of all his fellow scientists. Almost thru the brink of throwing away his research, he was approached by S.T.A.R. Labs offering him the chance to fund his research and perhaps enhance the serum to an extent of full cellular revification.
It was hard at first juggling between traveling to one lab to another from Los Angeles, San Fransico, Pittsburgh and San Diego. After countless failures, he finally achieved the unthinkable a serum that would work for the body instead of against it. Sam was convinced this could make him win the Nobel Prize and make the world a better place with the aid of his friends and fellow scientists the experiment was a sucesss dubbing it Rebirth Serum or simply R-Serum. One night before leaving writing his notes and saving important research data in his office. While he headed to the cafeteria, he found the security guards knocked down and the alarms deactivated. Fearing the worst he headed straight to his lab and tried to secure his life's work. All he saw was a man dressed in black trying to steal a vial of the R-serum.
Acting quick he threw an empty florence flask hoping he could dissorient the thief. Sam was sucessful, the thief dropped the vial ss he engaged in combat with the thief he was bested at a quick lenght. Sam rushed to retrieve it but he was stopped when the thief threw knives at Sam on his back. Sam collapsed on one of his compound shelves the mix of those compounds caused him a severe intoxication and burns all over his body. By the time the S.R.T. arrived the thief had failed to obtain the one vial containing the R-serum but had succeeded in copying the data making his getaway and eventually selling it to the highest bidder. One of his closest friends and love interest Ana Reed, took the vial from Sam's hand, mortally wounded she decided to test it on Sam. After placing him in the prototype device built by Sam known as the Crib. A chamber he built to inject the serum and thru the right amount of energy to heal the subject.
After the jarring process, Sam was healed or so they thought...The mix of the other compounds made the serum unstable mutating the original serum. Now dubbed virus the mutation was far worse than expected...creating a new type of matter and being. His whole body was covered in a layer of strange black and red like matter a symbiotic armor. Sam woke up inside the pod,wondering what had happened to him. The mutation serum had fused into his central nervous system. He thought maybe he could control it and return to his human form but he was confined to the symbiotic suit.
After months of trying by his own to control the suit he was unsuccessful. Sam saw himself as a monster, even to his loved ones, but he was encouraged to use this new skin for good, he decided to tests his abilities. To his surprise bullets couldn't pierece thru his skin, He could heal to an accelerated rate, he could shapeshift temporarily. The suit could create several melee weapons in an instant such as his now signature spiked whip and swords. He wondered if he could atleast shoot beams from his eyes, sadly for him it didn't happened however one thing that did found out he could control his own matter to modify weapons for his own personal use.
He also analyzed his weakness so far: Unable to adapt for space travel, Cool off effect after absorbing or controling. Recovering from critical injuries could take a full day or even a week, below zero temperatures, strong metals such as the Nth, Amazonium, supermanium can pierce thru his hardened skin even if he can absorb it the impact taken can cause him severe damage that would require a full month of recovery thus making them lethal and incompatible to adapt for his suit due to their molecular structure. His suit is also vulnerable to sonic waves prologoned attacks can make the suit leave the host for a small period of time. But this leaves Sam extremely vulnerable withouth the suit his burns and other injuries taken from combat can return.
After six months with many visits to a phsychologist, Sam continued his work in S.T.A.R. labs thru all the locations he was required to go. He had a new job as an advisor. At his young age despite his accident he was despicted as a Hero willing to take risks for humankind oftenly attending as a doctor in places around the world where bio attacks run rampant.
Recently he had developed a device around his wrist that would allow him to return to his human form, for a short period of time without his wounds reappear. Due to the device consuming high amounts of energy he can only stay human for 5 hours until the device energy depletes his skin will harden once again. His search for energy drove him to Jump City looking for Xenothium.

Any extra information: He's a boxing fan and learned to box when his father brought him in order to relieve stress from his job as head scientist and the loss off his mother. Trained a rat to play Chess and named him Mr. Tibbs. Sam is also a huge fan of kung fu movies.
