A testament to those who fell in the battle 25 years ago that ended the existence of the previous guild systems.
This graveyard is maintained by the newly established Guild of Eclipse and is quite large, depressingly so.

The graves are all uniform and polished, engraved with various names and symbols dictating which of the branches of the prior guilds they were part of.

He rarely came here for obvious reasons, but the main one being that this was located on what was now guild territory and he wanted nothing to do with the damned thing.
His own shop was located just on the outskirts where the territory line was marked, but even if it had laid within it he'd have moved it elsewhere. Moving buildings was no big deal for him. He'd had practice.

Slowly, each step deliberate and careful, he moved along the smoothed stones that ridged the entire area like stains on paper. It was an upsetting fact to know he didn't recognize half the names so powerfully engraved on the tombs, but the ones he did pricked at his nerves enough for all of them.

"Well, long time no see." The voice sprang up just behind him and he cursed having dropped his guard before turning to face it only to find a familiar, but troublesome face greeting him with a snide smile.
"Visiting are you?"

"I do sometimes. What are you doing back here? I had thought you-"

"Left to travel the world? Yeah, that was my plan. Until I heard the guild had been reestablished. Tell me, are you the one who brought them back?"

A bitter laugh was both his answer and a mockery of his words. "Hardly. I'd sooner see them fall again...I want nothing to do with them."

It was only then he saw the other had held his claws at his sides stiffly as if prepared to attack.
"...would you have tried to kill me if I said yes?"

"You know it's a mistake they're back. I don't intend to let them stand for long."

"...you mean to bring them down?"

Both Pokemon frowned at one another intently before the click of claws sheating sounded and the accuser turned with a snort.
"As long as you stay out of my way, Alfred, we won't have to be enemies."

With a spring the pale Pokemon tore off, vanished in a blinding speed and kicked up enough dirt to shroud that section of the graveyard in a whirlwind of dust.

The Gardevoir heaved a sigh, glancing back down at the tombstone he'd been standing directly in front of the entire time.
"...well, this is a predicament."

Whoever said spirits were only active at night would be sorely mistaken. Though the sky wasn't cloudless, the bright and brilliant sun shone down on the Graveyard Nidhyana and Kennick now stood in. The Sneasel had heard about the Graveyard while wandering the streets in the guild's surrounding territory and had been quite excited to come here. Somehow or another she had managed to find Kennick along her way to the memorial area and convinced him to get some time away from the rest of the group for a while. Currently the Shelgon was idly looking at the tombstones in mild interest, treading carefully wherever he went. Nidhyana took that as a good sign of his respect for the dead. And rightfully so. This place wasn't filled with Ghost type Pokemon, but the Sneasel could sense the bits and pieces of non-sentient spirits that stuck around in the very air of the area surrounding her.

"Quite the hotspot." She mused to herself happily. There was just something about the quiet, mysterious nature of the dead that gave her a thrilling sense of wonderment. Not to mention it reminded her of home. The magician's icy blue gaze traveled curiously from one headstone to another, reading their inscriptions and running a clawed hand over their tops lovingly. She would definitely have to come here regularly and help wash and shine the graves. Though she had the feeling that there weren't bodies under all of the graves, not one didn't deserve to be properly respected and maintained. Not that the Guild hadn't already made sure of that, this graveyard was excellently prim and pruned.

But Nidhyana wasn't there for the view. The Sneasel found a space that she supposed was a path and stood in its midst, closing her eyes and trying to sense the spiritual energy around her as she had been taught. She would rather have a place to practice her newly acquired skill that was further from the graves so as not to accidentally desecrate them, but there was no better place to create a flame made of spirits than directly in their midst. She'd just have to make sure to be careful with it. Nidhyana stood very still as she felt the spirit's presences. It was actually quite hard to do when they were so abundant and since she wasn't used to this sort of magic, she was having an even harder time discerning one soul from another.

In the meanwhile, Kennick couldn't help but to think that his teammate looked awfully silly standing with her arms wide open, eyes closed, and scrunching her face silently in the middle of the Graveyard. He'd just have to ignore her for now and continue looking through the graves that he somehow found a bit interesting.

Venari
Rebecca

A graveyard. It wasn't exactly the type of place that one visited without a purpose, at least not usually. Rebecca was something of an exception to that. She was a pokepologist first and foremost which meant that the dead were, in a sense, her specialty. She had never visited the graveyard before in spite of having lived in the city for quite a while but, after having joined the guild, it seemed like it was the appropriate thing to do. Rebecca was dually fortunate and unfortunate enough to have never had to do so before; she had never lost anyone because she had never had a family or a wide enough social network for such a tragedy to reach her. With that in mind, it was kind of a strange thing for her to visit. How to feel, how to feel... She wasn't quite certain, but she didn't exactly dwell on it. There wasn't a lot of point in that. Respecting the dead as she always did was enough in and of itself.

Rebecca's wandering through the graveyard wasn't all that different from Kennick's. Graves were scanned over passively, names and dates were noted. The writing was soaked in. Each one surely had a story to tell, a story that she would most likely never be privy to. Hopefully those stories were passed on elsewhere. She glanced at Nidhyana and paused for a moment but, after guessing her affiliation with Kennick, went to speak with the somewhat less engaged Shelgon instead. "Would that Sneasel over there happen to be your friend? Is she in mourning? Where is she from?" Rebecca's voice, however faintly, was one of interest. The Sneasel must have been from a very strange place indeed to mourn with such a pose.

Kennick's knee-jerk reaction to being interrupted in his examining of headstones was to feel irritated. But that feeling disappeared when he turned to see the looming form of the Armaldo who was speaking to him. It wasn't because of the intimidating size of the Pokemon that had his irritation dissipating, but the innate sixth sense he had to be able to tell when someone was older than he was by a number of years. It had been ingrained in him from his youth up to respect his elders, and the Shelgon could feel old habits kicking in automatically as his first thought was to address the stranger's questions.

"No Ma'am, we are only teammates who have only met recently. Consequently, I do not know from where she comes." He stood a little taller, looked the Armaldo in the eye, and held a tone that lacked his usual bitter bite. "I do not think that she is mourning, but practicing a new ability that she has recently acquired from a Pokemon we ran into on our last mission." He felt obligated to answer the questions in full and gave a satisfied nod at his answers when he was finished. Then he remembered the common courtesy that the Old One had taught him and bowed a little in respect. "My name is Kennick, Ma'am. May I inquire of yours?"

Meanwhile, Nidhyana had not noticed the new arrival or the conversation. She was just trying to focus on the massive amount of spirit energy in the Graveyard and pulling a small bit out of it. It was just so hard to that she worried if she would even be able to control the flames they would produce. But it wasn't like she could turn back so she only scrunched up her face more and lifted her arms a bit higher.

Venari
Rebecca

"Ah, I see." Well, it was good to hear that the Sneasel wasn't in mourning. It was a little disappointing too, but it was mostly good. If a little strange. Who practiced a new move in a graveyard? It was a little odd, to say the least and perhaps a little disrespectful... maybe? One would guess it sort of depended on the move in question. "Kennick." It was a nice name and it was one that the Shelgon would certainly grow into in time. Rebecca would return the greeting with a smile on her face. "Of course. My name is Rebecca, I joined the guild recently myself under team Venari."

Kennick seemed nice. He also seemed very... restrained, the reason to which being something that Rebecca couldn't quite put her finger on. It was courteous but it was also a very stiff and practiced courtesy which made it somewhat difficult to understand. It wasn't simply refined as was common to some cultures and families but indeed controlled, a fact that made it stick out somewhat sharply to Rebecca until a thought crossed her mind and a concerned frown crossed her face. "I'm sorry, you aren't in mourning yourself are you? I had assumed you were simply idle, but if I'm being a bother..."

"You're not a bother, Ms. Rebecca. I am only here to watch over Nidhyana. I was only taking a look at the graves here. " He answered once again in his rigid manners, stick straight and still looking right into the Armaldo's eyes. It would be rude, so he thought, to look away in the middle of the conversation. His reply had been honest, too. He'd never mourned before and since he wasn't doing much otherwise, he didn't feel the her presence. ered by her presence. "She and I are from Team Moonlighter, a treasure hunting group. It is pleasure to meet-"

"Ah! Quick, Kennick!" Nidhyana screeched suddenly as she ran over in the two's direction, effectively interrupting the dragon's speech. It was effective mostly because of the giant blue fireball that was growing at a startling rate in the Sneasle's hands. "Putitoutputitoutputitout!" She was yelling rapid fire as she came into a closer proximity than he was comfortable with a raging fire being. He could already feel the heat from the amassing flames. It was moments and pokemon like this that made him snap.

"Me? What am I supposed to do!?" He shouted back with an irritated growl I his words, flinching at the sound of them. It sounded so disrespectful to use such a tone in Rebecca, his elder's, presence.

"Use your water thingy!" She shrieked back at him, causing him to groan in irritation. Did he really have to use such an unsightly technique for something so irrational, in front of a fellow guild mate no less? Just as he was contemplating telling her to use her own ice abilities, the fire sprang up to twice the size it had been, now almost the same size as Rebecca herself. With the danger intensified, Kennick's knee jerk reaction was to, in fact, call forth upon his ability to shoot a strong blast of water at the flames.

He hated using Hydro Pump as it always left him feeling weak and dried up afterwards unless he was in a wet environment already. Unfortunately for him, there was no water in the Graveyard. But the result was worth it, as the spirit fire had been fizzled out by the blast, and Nidhyana was now several yards away, lying on her back in a soaking heap and letting loose a string of curses to herself.

Kennick glanced nervously back over to Rebecca to see her reaction, for the first time taking in the tattoos covering her plastron and neck. That only made things worse for him. Not only was she his elder, but she was a tough one too.

Venari
Rebecca

He really was very stiff, she thought. She wasn't quite sure why that was, but he definitely was restraining himself. It was very odd to her and the thought that it was simply respect conferred due to age hadn't even crossed her mind. Kennick seemed, by all rights, to be an adult himself. While he may or may not have considered himself as such, something that wouldn't be entirely surprising since he was yet to fully evolve, as far as Rebecca was concerned he was both an adult and her coworker. She could only assume it was a cultural thing; perhaps she would ask, but perhaps she wouldn't. The kind of stiff courtesy Kennick had wasn't particularly offputting but it was just a little difficult to inquire about. How did you ask "why are you so darn stiff" without seeming like a bit of a butt?

It was a hard question to answer but it was one she wouldn't have to, at least not for the time being.

"Ah! That's good then, I'm glad to hear you didn't lose anyone." Any further conversation was lost as Nidhyana ran over. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it. The Sneasel just sort of... ran over with a big ball of fire that was growing larger and larger. Rebecca didn't particularly fear fire, being more resistant to it than not, which simply left her staring for a moment as she tried to decipher what was going on. When the flaming sphere rippled and suddenly ballooned in size, Rebecca's reaction was very much the same as Kennick's; spray. She wasn't a water type and she was a great deal better with her pointed claws than her more "special" skills but that didn't stop her from attempting to dull the flame. The jet of water shot out of her mouth in a concentrated spray and, as Kennick's did, tore through the fire and caused it to disperse by force.

Thankfully for Kennick, Rebecca didn't really care about his spray of water. It wasn't even clear if she had noticed it or not because in the aftermath of the brief adventure, she quickly ran over to Nidhyana and expressed herself in equal parts concerned and upset. "Oh, goodness! What were you thinking, starting a fire like that in a graveyard!?" Rebecca was upset, a fact that was reflected in her voice. While the graves wouldn't burn, the graveyard itself was well tended to and it would be utterly ruined if a fire ripped through it. The dead deserved far more respect than that. She was not, however, purely upset and so she was quick to extend one of her claw-like arms to Nidhyana to help her up. Being wet was uncomfortable, being wet and on the ground was even worse. Everything stuck to your body.

But really, a fire in a graveyard! What if something had happened? Nidhyana might not have had any ill intent but she clearly wasn't ready to control the attack and trying it out in such a precious place was simply unreasonable.
