Life had seen fit to throw more than a few surprises across his path, but one of the biggest and most special, perhaps, was the latest of them all. Unplanned and unprepared. These were two of the words he might have used when speaking of the small life that had come into their lives. A miracle which came as a reminder that perhaps they weren't as old as they might sometimes feel.
A son.
Lying in their den, pressed close to his mate, Kidondo turned his head to spy the small, round shape of their youngest child tucked behind No's foreleg. His fur was dark red, the tinge of black tipping the longer fur between his ears and tail. A large cub that so resembled the grandfather he would never meet.
With a soft sigh, the regent let his eyes fall closed and, in that moment, the cub stirred into wakefulness; beginning a sluggish climb across his mother's shoulder.

Kimaria Woah, never saw this posted! All things considered, this had been her easiest litter.
No raised her head, admiring the small ball of fluff as he struggled the path up her shoulder. How much easier it was with one than six! After several obnoxiously large families, No couldn't help but be satisfied with a litter that many females might have considered a point of shame. Her tail thumped once, collecting the little creature up by the scruff of his neck and depositing by her forepaws.
"You must be quite something to come into the world all on your own," the black cat thrummed pleasantly. Her eyes turned towards Kidondo, a mixture of affection and mischief clouding her eyes. "I often wonder what that bodes."
